Best Home Depot Experience...Special thanks to Kelly, Mark, Eddie and Jack for being so helpful and going above and beyond the call of duty. I ordered a Husky Bench as a Christmas gift for my husband. I purchased it online with the intention of picking it up in the store and having my husband help me unload it and put it together. A few days after I purchased it, my husband found out he had to go in for a spinal surgery right away...SO...I started trying to figure out how I was going to get this thing home. Unfortunately, we dont have family or friends nearby that could help out so my only real options were returning the item or paying $89 for a rental truck that has a mechanism for unloading...I really didnt want to return it so my brilliant plan was to fork out the extra 90 bucks (cringe) and just "wing it"....Id get it home and figure it out (there was no way my 5 ft scrawny armed self was going to handle this beast on my own but I was determined). So I went to the HD on Custer and Virginia where my item was waiting for me and briefly discussed my predicament and plan with Mark and Kelly at the Service Desk. They thought for a minute and said, "Well... why dont you rent the $20/hr truck and well see if someone from the store can go to your house and help you unload it."... SERIOUSLY?! DAY. MADE. WEEK MADE. CHRISTMAS MADE. But not only did they do that, the two gentlemen, Jack and Eddie, who drove the truck to my house a couple of miles away, unloaded it AND put on the wheels and handle for me. There was no way I could have ever handled it on my own and Im guessing they knew that. I even tried to tip Jack and Eddie a small amount which was the least I could do but they wouldnt accept. They all went so above and beyond and truly made my day, my week, and showed such kindness I will not forget. We always go to this HD location because its so close but we have been to many in the DFW area and this is certainly the best in my opinion. Every time you walk through the door, you are greeted by the most outgoing, friendly, make your day in an instant greeter (dont know his name but you know him if youve been there)....and everyone is always so helpful and knowledgeable no matter what department youre in, they can help you find what you need. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU --- customer service is so important and one good experience can make a customer for a lifetime. Im so glad Home Depot gets that.

I would like to tell you a story about what a great employee Daphne in flooring is. We had an issue with the bamboo flooring color that was ordered by one of the men in the flooring department. It was the wrong color. Much darker than what we wanted. When I went in to discuss what our options were on getting the right color in before the install date I met Daphne. What an angel she was when I was so stressed out about the timeline for install. She assured me she would take care of everything for me. She got right on ordering the new color setting up delivery and pickup of the wrong color and made sure the transition boards were changed to the right color as well. Every detail was taken care of without fail and she even called me back to let me know everything was taken care of when she finished (something that most of your employees fail to do even though the promised the they would). I am so impressed with her customer service skills. I own a Salon and would be proud to have her on my team. She is my new "Best Friend" and I will stop by to see her every time I come to the store which is at least once a week. I would love for her to be recognized by Home Depot as one of the Employee of the Month recipients if that is something that you do. You should reward your best and brightest team members. Thanks again Daphne your a winner in my eyes!

Worst Home Depot in DFW? Swapped parts on a delivery to a much cheaper part, shorted me on a refund of the difference... balance removed from register, did the manager pocket the difference? I ordered appliances online, the website forces you to purchase stainless steel hose set. I received rubber ($12 cheaper item, 50% of the price). Online support sent me to this store as this is where my appliances came from. After getting hassled about why I didnt remove the hoses and bring them in for exchange, I was given half the difference on my card and another $17 on the receipt was listed as "cash" that was taken from the register balance for the day. Did the manager pocket that difference? Regardless, they knew they sent the wrong item then argued about it and shorted me the refund. Its a SMALL amount compared to the purchase but its the principle of it. This is the LAST time I go into this store.

This review is specifically based on our experience shopping for new kitchen counter tops. We have had many other positive experience at this store in other departments. The basis of my one star review is how do you expect someone to spend $3000+ on new counter tops when there is not a single employee in the store, we visited multiple times, that is knowledgeable on the subject? Our neighbors had the same experience and ended up going over to the Frisco location due to the lack of knowledgeable staff in McKinney. We walked in completely ready to purchase new countertops and were initially very pleased to see there was a 10% off special running but we ended up walking out angry and frustrated. Even after finding a countertop material we both liked we could not get past the total lack of expertise and answers in the department. We will definitely be going elsewhere in the future.

Terrible experience. I pulled along the side of the building where the inside rep advised me to go to pick up shingles and a worker outside yelled at me when I did and walked away. Not sure what he even said since its pretty difficult to hear when Windows are rolled up. Now Ive been waiting for 40 minutes and am still waiting for a rep with a fork lift outside to load a few SQ of shingles in lnto my truck. The last rep helped a gentleman in front of me but when finished , left and never came back. I asked if I could just grab the materials and a rep said no, they will handle it. Im pretty disappointed with the quality of service outside. Hopefully Im not here much longer... but with the way things are going right now , Im not holding my breathe. Side note, the reps at the cashier line were very friendly.

Worst customer service. purchased $220.00 worth of lumber and loaded up the truck. after loading realized I had left my socket wrench at home to tighten down my straps. asked if I could browwow one to crank the strap down a couple of times and the manager refused the request to borrow a $8.00 wrench so I unloaded the wood and he lost the $220.00 sale.. Now I have left the wrench at home before and Lowes has never had an issue letting me borrow one. Taking my business back to Lowes. To the lady at the return counters credit she was willing to just give me the socket wrench and not lose a $220.00 sale over an $8.00 wrench. Smart worker with dumb manager.
