I am expecting my first child. The whole process of where and what to register for has been pretty overwhelming. I’ve heard bad things about registering for items at Target because of their return policy, so I thought to help with my registry anxiety I would register at Babies-R-Us. Not the greatest experience either!!! I registered online and in the store, and I felt as if I registered for all the correct items. Thinking I was in the free of any hassle I’ve been abruptly awaken. We received our first purchase from a guest who could not make it to one of our four baby showers. I stress the four because I will have to deal with Babies-R-Us, horrible service some more. The guest who purchased our gift informed us that we would have to pick up our gift at the store in five days, which at the time my husband and I thought was strange, but we were excited about getting our first gift so we didn’t complain. As we walked into the store to ask the lady at the registry counter what we were supposed to do, she answered us without even looking up that we were to go to customer service. This reaction at first brought me back, because this was supposed to be a very special time for us. I tried to ignore her rudeness because I did not want her to ruin my excitement. We walk to customer service counter to get our gifts, where the ladies at the desk could not find us or the guest who had purchased our gift in the system. While we waiting we asked a few simple questions: 1) why do we have to pick up the gift within 5 days; and 2) why were we not notified by Babies-R-Us that we had a gift waiting for us. We were informed that they did not have the storage to hold on to our gifts and that if we did not come and get the gift that they would restock the items and that there would be an automatic reimbursement to the person who purchased our gift. They said that they didn’t notify us just because and that it was our gift givers responsibility to let us know. My husband and I found these answers to be very rude and not with a specific reason. Olga, the customer service lady who helped us was very rude and not welcoming. I left from my first experience of receiving a gift for my baby very sad and unsatisfied and I will now let all of my pregnant friends and future pregnant friends know not to use Babies-R-Us just as I had been told not to use Target for a Baby Registry.

The store is clean, and has a large selection. They also are very accommodating to pregnant women and new moms, as are all Babies R Us. When we were trying to buy furniture, there was no one to wait on us for like 15 mins, after asking repeatedly for assistance. We finally asked for the manager, and were helped in a very kind, and nice way. Even gave us an additional 5% off. It started out rough, but made up for it in strides. Would recommend. Also excepts competitors coupons.

I had a copoun that was only redeemable at their store for $8 off a pack of diapers 92ct or more, but they wouldnt take it! Plus their pack of 96 diapers is almost $30 where at walmart its about $20. I think Ill stick with walmart, if babies r us cant honor their own offers!
