My overall experience is 3stars, maybe 3.5. The reason I could not give Shaftel Diamond 5 stars is due to the sales person...Meghan! Let me first say, my end result is great and I am very pleased. However, the process was NOT so much! This was due to Meghans lack of communication and miss handling of my money (losing my payments twice!). I had been making monthly payments on my ring and DIDNOT miss a payment EVER for a whole year. At some point during December 2016, I noticed that 2 payments were missing. I called and told her about it and she said something about they went to a new system (blah blah blah) still not a reason to lose thousands of dollars!!! I told her to look it over, find all my payments, and send me an email. She did and confirmed her amount again. I had to go to Shaftel and show MY receipts and confirm her mis handling of my money with the email that she sent me in my hand. Her response to me was... it was around Christmas and we were busy. WHAT THE?!?! So after that experience I was NOT feeling her at all. She seemed dishonest and unapologetic. Fast forward, its time to pick up my rings...they added a stone to one and made me an anniversary band. She called my husband and said that my rings are ready. When I get there, at least 30 minutes away from my house, only one ring is ready! She presented it to me like, "Here are your rings!" WHAT?!?! One ring was ready and the other is the one I left for them to use to match up my wedding band... no work had to be done. This could have been handled with a phone call to communicate that everything was NOT ready before I get all excited and make the drive. It was very anti-climactic! I honestly think she forgot to get it made. Who does that?! Tell you your stuff is ready but a complete ring is missing?! And at one point she told me, "we cant release your rings until they are paid in full." Am I an idiot?! That was the 3rd craziest thing she said to me! This is the second time I have dealt with Shaftel and the main reason I came back was due to the first great experience (I dealt with the owner). I have even sent them customers that have made several purchases. Well, all I can say if I use them again I will NOT deal with Meghan. SAD! She left a very bad and sad impression with me.

When my fiance and I started talking rings we both wanted an engagement ring that was unique to my style with some Vintage inspiration. After looking at many other Engagement ring shops and not finding our ring we came to Shaftel. There, after speaking with Meaghan at Shaftel we decided the way to go was designing our own ring. I literally had no clue how to quite make this happen, but Meaghan and the team at Shaftel were truly wonderful. After many ideas and inspirations combined together we came up with a ring. They crafted and made a wax ring mold for us to exactly what we described. After seeing the initial ring mold we were inspired with even more ideas and a couple things we did not like about the ring. Alas, the second ring mold was ready with both our old and new inspirations and it was just what we were looking for! Although a little nervous I was confident that they would turn the wax mold into my dream ring. When my fiance proposed not only was I surprised with his elaborate and very well planned proposal, but I was truly shocked by how beautiful the ring was! I could not believe how absolutely stunningly beautiful it turned out! From picking out the diamond, to picking the right rose gold color to flatter my skin tone, to the unique design and to bringing our 6 year old in on the weekends we had our PERFECT ring. If youre shopping around for a ring or especially if you want to design a unique ring with a professional team with lots of patience, then look no further. At Shaftel they were so welcoming for each and every visit and did great accommodating to our needs; they work with your budget and creativity to design your perfect ring!!!! After only being engaged for a few months I am getting stopped by many people about my ring. I am so happy with how it turned out and you will too! :-)

My friend had a very good experience working with them, based on a recommendation we went to them for the engagement ring. We had the wonderful experience with Meagan to design the ring, and Im thankful for that. I took about a month to create it and the wedding band. The problems started a month after my boyfriend proposed. The ring felt down onto the wood floor and the sapphire came off the ring cracked. Sapphires are hard stones, I still dont understand how it can be cracker like that (was there pre-existing weakening or it was extra tension from setting, idk). The Shaftel manager told me that they dont have a warranty on stones, only on the setting. They did offer the replacement stone with great discount though. It took them another two weeks to put a new one in (and it slightly darker in color). They promised (!) to check that other stones are well placed! And guess what? Two weeks after the small diamond got lost, right near the newly replaced stone!! I cant believe it! Even if my ring doesnt cost 10k+, I still expect it to be well made. The people working there are friendly and nice, but I dont have a nice experience with the product from the so far, only disappointment. Ill update about the fix. Update: The ring was fixed in a week at no charge, as written below. This time my fiancee went to the store. He said that everyone was helpful about the fix. Well, you may have the same trouble with a custom rings in any other place. It is just a little bit more overwhelming with engagement. *also, thank you for commenting the reviews - it is very nice

I cant say enough about this place. Shopping for an engagement ring here was truly a breeze as well as stress free (well as stress free as buying a diamond ring can be). I found this place by doing a search on google and was a bit hesitant about buying such a big item based solely on google reviews, but I couldn’t be happier I did. Gabby was an absolute pleasure to work with. So laid back, yet had an answer for any question I had. While they lacked the huge showroom and show case after show case of sparkle that other large jewelry stores had, they also lacked the HUGE mark ups those bigger joints had too. I visited zadok jewelers, which was nearby, and was flabbergasted that their prices were easily double for what I was looking for compared to Shaftel. When I told them I needed the ring within 3-4 weeks they made it seem like that was far too short of a time frame to get anything done for me. They said it would be a stretch and they might be able to do it (after speaking to a manager) and charging another premium for “rush”. Gabby and Shaftel had no problem getting things done for me in 2-3 weeks. The piece I ended up with my girlfriend (now fiancé) went absolutely gaga for! Ive since found out a few of her married friends also bought their rings and other gifts at Shaftel as well. I honestly cant say enough about my ring buying experience here. You owe it to yourself to go to this place if you’re in the market for any sort of jewelry. It really is the best kept secret in Houston for jewelry!!
