I went to the Hulen Ace on 07/17/2011 and told the people there that I needed a paint with primer in a bright yellow and told them that I was painting wooden picture frames. They were very helpful in picking out the color and told me that the paint primer that they had wouldnt make that color so they told me I could buy a separate primer, then they figured out that they had a paint with a yellow base "So you wont need a primer". So I was happy that I would still only need one paint, or so I thought... I got it home and have put 6 coats of paint on these frames (letting them dry in between) and I can still see the wood color through the paint. I called today to let them know and I expected them to right there wrong but unfortunately they are making it out like Im incompetent and asked me if the paint was sticking???! Then I called your customer service department and she called the store and told me to go back to the store to have it resolved?! I wouldnt have called if I kept wanting to deal with the store.

I find this amazing. The folks on the floor at local Ace Hardware are pleasant and very helpful, but the women behind the counter are stoic and uncaring. Very strange indeed. After I moved to the French Lake neighborhood, I wanted to visit this little-nearby hardware store. It was convenient - within walking distance. Upon inspection, I noticed that they had a modest inventory and high prices. A bad combo. After a short shopping trip and for signing up to their email list they gave me a $10 combination flashlight and screwdriver. I took the gizmo and thanked them. After about an hour of trying to get the piece of junk to work, I returned it. They took it back and didnt utter an appology for peddeling garbage. I will be back to Ace Hardware for emergencies, but will stick with the big boys - Lowes and Home Depot for most of my needs. Yes, the big box stores are further away, but at least they dont pretend to give you a gift when in actuality it is simply trash. Yes, I Dont like wasting my time. No thanks.

You should absolutely shop here. Both my wife and I love this location. They excell above other stores of its type by far. Its a small store with a great variety of everything you need for home improvement or repair. I work as a handyman and they always have what I need, even the really odd stuff. I even bought my stihl chain saw and blower from them. They do a great job with product selection and chain sharpening too. The best gardening center around. Lots of variety and specialty items too. We like it better than Calaways, and their prices are resonable. Their team is super friendly and helpful. You can tell they actually care. Bret, the manager is extremely knowledgable, so if you have a difficult something he will know how to help. One catch, hes the only reason i didnt give them 5 stars, because of his consistant bitter attitude. The owner, Alan is top notch and super friendly, even greets you by name.

Ace is right up the road from me at the Hulen location. There is always more than enough help at the store. I have been there upwards of 10 times now and have been not only been welcomed in each time, but helped immediately. Not once have I walked to where one of the employees hasnt been able to help me and take me straight to where I need to go. The only thing I can say about the lady below with the neg review for paint would be, she either got a new employee that wasnt quite knowledgeable yet OR, she bought cheap paint. Still could have been new employees fault. Either way, that was a fluke. I stand behind this store. I dont even waste my time going all the way down to Home Depot or Lowes now, unless I need lumber or something to that effect. I am in and out of the store in minutes at most, every time! 12/20/2011

Great store plenty of people ready to offer assistance. It is not home depot but they have a good selection of products and did I say people ready to help? I also had an issue with some weed and feed, I just brought it in to show them which one I was talking about, they offered a refund on the spot even though I did not ask for one or have the receipt for the weed and feed. I have been there 3 times so far and try my best to shop here instead of Lowes or Home depot whenever I can. Checkouts are fast and there have not been lines at the cash register any time I have been there.

Super helpful. Nice workers. Great environment. Hannah was super helpful in finding items for project. Would definitely ask for her help again. Surprised to helped by a manager with getting things into my car. Everyone is super down to Earth. Will be shopping there in the future.

Theyre always very helpful. I find myself returning to this store often because the staff always has someone available to answer questions and to help me find what I need. Unlike home depot, where you can never find someone to help you, this store saves me time and I value that.

I never have trouble finding someone to help with my questions. It is also great that they help you load. Theres a rewards club and they take coupons. And it is a much more friendly, pleasant experience than the big boxes, or Wally-world.
