The coffee is good. The service is very slow. Its actually so bad that they have a sign on the wall asking you to give them a break. It doesnt matter how many folks are behind the counter talking and hanging out, there is typically only 1 working. They need to figure out how to handle more than 1 customer at a time. Sitting inside is comfortable but sitting outside can be quite harrowing with all the vagrants and mental illness that is drawn to the place. I suspect it is because they provide water, internet and bathroom facilities for them. Today after buying my coffee and sitting outside for about 5 minutes a vagrant with schizophrenia started to growl and look at everyone in a threatening manner. I decided to leave before I was forced to defend myself. I am starting to think Oak Street Coffee Bar or Cultivar/Hypnotic might be a safer place to sit and enjoy a coffee. Why draw all the crazies to your business by providing them services and chase off paying customers? I would like to enjoy my $5 coffee without having someone reeking of urine and smoking cigarette butts off the sidewalk a the while accosting people as they walk by. Is it too much to ask?

I actually liked the new Jupiter House location. I used to go there often when it first opened. I dont know what has changed, but the employees will actually harass you now. Buying something seems to be a severe inconvenience to them and dont even think about going in there near closing time. I can empathize with them, having worked in restaurants before, but the attitude towards even polite and understanding customers is inexcusable. The last time I went in there, and the last time I ever will, I was told that the internet and couches were for paying customers only. I planned to buy something later so I simply ignored him until he came back to more aggressively harass myself and another customer about it and raised his voice to argue with me in front of the other customers. I sincerely hope the business fails entirely for the way they allow their employees to treat people. Vote with your dollars. Support anyone but Jupiter House.

*Quit* giving these lazy do-nothing homeless bums free coffee! One, they already get free coffee at the Salvation Army shelter every morning. Two, they take up tables from paying customers so they can dawdle while charging up their free government-provided Smartphone. Three, theyre forever panhandling customers who choose to sit outside at the tables and smoke their cigs with their coffee. I went in there with a friend, and we decided to leave without ordering because all the tables were taken up, a third of which by bums. I no longer frequent this place, and neither do some of my friends who opt instead to go to the coffee house on the north side of the Square because of the horrid bum factor. Other than that, the specialty drinks might be fine, but they dont put a whole lot of effort into their drip coffee, which is either nondescript or just plain bad.

3.5-4 stars. On one hand, they have books, trendy art and a decent cross-section of the populace. OTOH, they overcharge for simple drinks, and their coffee carafes dont get changed near enough. You have to hang around to get a good feel for the history of the space, and to appreciate the work that has gone into making this deceptively small coffeehouse such a success. On good days, the outside bistro tables overlooking the Square make up for the little inconveniences. On those days (the 4 star days). Jupiter House can be a warm and inviting haven to relax and meet new and interesting people. The coffee is also pretty darn good.

The staff was completely rude. I hate paying that much for something so cheap then having to deal with some college kid who has zero respect for the customer. I ordered one thing then she turned around and told the batista something else, and when I corrected her she just looked at me and said "theyre the same thing, they just look a little different." If I wanted the kind of experience youd expect from a super huge chain, Id go to a chain coffee house. There are plenty of Starbucks in Denton and if this is how the locals treat their customers then Ill just go to a Starbucks.

Great place to beat all the busybody chain coffee places! If you like to actually taste your coffee while not teetering on the brink of a sugar-induced high that you get at other shops, this place is a must. They also have a small selection of baked goods near the order counter, and while a little on the expensive side, they do compliment any coffee you may order. The atmosphere is very tranquil, having high seating tables and plush, cozy couches and chairs. Its a great place to "get away" while being nestled in the heart of Denton Square.

Very much a college-town coffee bar. The staff seems a bit impatient at times, but the coffee and the tea are both adequate. I dont particularly enjoy it here as much as other places, not because of the drinks, but because I feel as though theres some... thing... there. A spirit, maybe. I dont really believe in all that sort of stuff, but let me tell you... I went on a ghost tour once, and yall... I think something is inside Jupiter House. So if that excites you (or doesnt bother you either way) try them out.

Jupiter House is the go-to coffee shop in Denton. There is no where else where I have found such amazing coffee and espresso drinks... the Big Dripper is the most awesome house blend I have ever tasted! I wish I could have it for home, but I imagine it wouldnt work without the atmosphere, which is amazing, warm, and inviting for people looking to hang out or do some serious studying. WiFi is always good, the staff is always amazing, and it is obviously the best place for coffee at Dentons square.

Its a coffee place with plenty of room to set up your laptop and drink your coffee. Not a bad place to visit but also nothing really special about it. If youre used to Starbucks prices then you wont be shocked to spend $5 on a medium sized coffee. Overall not a bad option to rest your feet if youre exploring the area but I wouldnt go out of my way. One note of caution, if youre sensitive to smoke then you might have an issue with a possible cloud of it before you can get in the door.

Whenever I leave Denton for a long time, Jupiter House is the first place I miss. The coffee is good but the iced coffee is awesome and not a warm day goes by where Im without one. They sell Ravelin baked goods, which are delicious, and the owners and employees are intelligent, interesting, nice people. The smoothies are fantastic, too, and any espresso drink you want will be top-notch, particularly by DFW standards. I dont have to resort to Starbucks when Im in Denton.

To the owner or manager, I have no problem with the staff, service, or beverages. You must address the barnacles that sit in front of your store. Paying customers are unable to enjoy the patio space while it is consumed by the local homeless. If you feel compelled to help, donate to a local shelter and provide picnic seating. Who wants to be harassed on the way in and who wants filthy hands fumbling through the ash trays looking for cigs while you sit there?
