Ive been diving for over 20 years and have been a customer at Sea Sports Scuba ever since I moved back to Houston in 1994. Ive gone on dive trips with them and Ive taken classes with them. The stores are nice and have a lot of neat things to look at and purchase but the employees in the stores are what sets Sea Sports apart. Always helpful and some really go out of their way to help you find what youre looking for. For example, was in the store and remarked about a wet suit that had been marked down and was no longer being carried and of course I liked it (liked the price too) but they didnt have it in my size. I got a call a week later, they had found that specific suit in my size and did I want it. You betcha! Told the manager to get it and I went down and bought it that weekend. And the thing is... I never asked them to go and try to find one in my size! So why am I only giving them 4 stars? Because several years ago they closed the store that was real close to me and Ive never forgiven them!

Sea Sports Scuba was a great, professional and equipped place to become scuba certified and purchase equipment. My experience with Tracy as an instructor was exceptional. At a time where I was feeling nervous and excited he had a special way of putting me at ease while still keeping the excitement. His passion for diving is obvious, along with his patience for new learners. Tracy wants you to learn properly and take it seriously, while still making every moment enjoyable. I highly becoming certified with Sea Sports Scuba on Barker Cypress. I feel like they have opened a door to a whole new world and now feel confident to go out into the wide open ocean!

I have been Diving since 1981 with over 200 dives and needed to get my 11 year old son certified. I took my son the Sea Sports on Barker Cypress to sign him up in private open water scuba classes. I went through the class with my son and I will have to say it was the best experience I have had in a training atmosphere. Dave Patalo was the instructor and he did an absolute great job. He taught the coarse on a level my son could understand and feel comfortable and confidant while scuba diving. If you are looking to get certified or do additional training I strongly recommend Dave at the Sea Sports in Cypress, you wont be disappointed. Klint Calongne

Great dive shop and great instructors. My husband and I recently got certified at SSI_cypress and it was a fantastic experience. Our instructor, Tracy, was amazing. We had a class of 5 people and he still managed to give us all individual instruction and keep the class moving. Personally, I am not the best swimmer nor the most comfortable in the water, so this was a big personal challenge for me. Tracy was patient, kind, and took the time to make sure I was comfortable before moving on; this meant a lot to me! I strongly recommend anyone that is considering getting certified to consider this shop; AWESOME experience!

We had a great time. Tom and Margaret were great teachers - I really liked having 2 people there. They have done like 800 dives! Crazy. We were unable to do the open water training with our class due to some scheduling difficulties and Dave was gracious with his time to stick around later in the days on another weekend to get my son and I certified in time to go diving in Cozumel. Big time thank you to Dave - great guy! Tracy in the shop was very helpful in picking out our gear. This was a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone interested in getting SSI certified.

Sea Sports Scuba is the best dive shop. I had such a great experience learning to dive. My instructors Tom and Margaret Pace were awesome instructors. I am now an advance scuba diver thanks to them and Sea Sports Scuba. Always professional. All the staff were so helpful with all my questions. I will continue to train with them. The new store in Cypress, TX off Barker-Cypress Road south of 290 is so nice, they have everything there you need. Quality equipment, beautiful training facility and experienced certified instructors. If you want to learn to scuba dive give them a call.

Was certified here as an open water diver in 2012 by a terrific instructor Dave Pitalo. Our class size was small and nothing about the course felt factory-like. I came out feeling knowledgeable, confident and had a blast. Since then, I frequent this location for supplies and Tom usually points me in the right direction. May be more expensive than some online sites but you cant beat the personal attention you get face to face with experts. Also had them set me up on a Gulf diving trip. Great location, I recommend.

I just took their Open Water Diver Certification course and it was great! It was challenging but fun, and I always knew that I could trust my instructor Tracy. He made sure that we were comfortable at all times and if any of us ever had an issue with equalizing or our masks were flooding, he never hesitated to take the time to make sure that we were all happy and healthy in the water. It was a great experience and Ill definitely be returning to them for my ongoing certifications!

Through this fantastic dive shop, we took Discover Scuba in their indoor pool that drops to 16 feet. That experience prompted us to follow up with Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Nitrox certifications. We also participated in Dive Around Texas, and have been to Cozumel and Grand Cayman. The employees are a lot of fun, but take safe diving seriously. They seamlessly transferred our certifications from PADI to SSI. Dont take my word for it, visit the store yourself.

My husband and I recently took their Open Water Diver Certification, and I cant say enough good things about our entire experience. Our instructor, John Buano, was fantastic. He worked closely with us to be sure we were fully at ease in the water. Helped to make sure our equipment was correctly suited for us and exactly fit our needs. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable, and the pool was the perfect temperature. I would definitely recommend them.

I thoroughly enjoyed the training I received through Sea Sports Scuba. Im glad that the training was spread out in a way that we were able to spend time learning the proper and safe way to scuba dive. The course was very informative and Dave Pitalo did a great job ensuring that we were all thoroughly prepared for the open water.I am looking forward to taking some of the advanced courses and will definitely be recommending Sea Sport Scuba to my friends.

I have had 3 teenagers certified here. These guys are fantastic. They not only accommodated our youngest when he had an ear infection the weekend of his cert dive - they actively searched for other options for him to finish once he was cleared by the doctor. I cannot speak highly enough of these instructors
