Last week I had purchased a Magellan tent from Academy in Tulsa on 81st. Friday me and many friends left to go back packing in the Ozark National Forest. It was a great trip and very scenic, the plan was to stay gone until this morning. Saturday evening we set up our tents, and called it a night early as it started to rain. Around 3:30 in the morning I was awakened to my sleeping bag being soaked. I got up and realized my tent had a puddle inside soaking everything up. I got up and loaded my gear, wet bag and soaked clothing, and hiked almost 50 miles back to my car, cutting my trip very short. I have been hiking and camping very frequently since I was a child and never experienced this issue, though it was my first use at a single sleeping tent, it was also my first Magellan tent. When I got home my clothes and sleeping bag were covered in milldew. Today I contacted Academys customer service number, turns out Academy owns Magellan. They informed me there is nothing they could do and to contact the location I bought it. I called that location, 81st in Tulsa, and they insulted me with offering a return credit and 20%off the purchase of another tent. Lets keep in mind the inconvenience of backpacking back with soaked clothes, a wet sleeping bag and a faulty tent. Let keep in mind the shortened trip. And that was there offer to resolve the problem. I will now be forced to buy a new sleeping bag, replace the ruined clothes and replace another tent. I have videos and pictures of the leak, I have recorded phone calls with Academy customer service and store managers, where one agreed with me "If you buy a cheap product from a cheap store, your going to get cheap results."

I was at the Academy sports #3707 at 7850 S 107th Ave E, Tulsa, OK 74133 purchasing a rod and reel. The rod was priced $9.00, and the reel was priced at $20.00 as I was checking out the rod was scanned and read $39.99 I informed the cashier that the price on the tag was different managment was called over, I was then told that they were not going to Honor the price on the Tag. It is very bad business not Honor the prices stated and would like for this situation to be rectified. They offered to give me $10 off $39.99, that would have have made the rod and reel set be $59.99, If i was going to spend that amount i could have just bought a rod and reel set that went together. to have a store not honor a tag that is on their merchandise is unacceptable. so i left the rod and reel, and will be buying my fishng equipment from another company. I also will be sure to report this to the better business bureau, and be sure to let all my friends and family that this is not a company to do business with. when i got online and was talking to the live chat Gustavo he disconnected from me, when i was getting the information i needed to file the complaint. #academysportsandoutdoors #badbusiness #fishermanslife

Dont get me wrong because i rated one star. This store is great other than getting supplies fixed quicker. Its the worst! I called 5 months back to see about getting my co2 tanks filled for my paintball guns and they had told me there tanks that do refills was broken. They said part was ordered. So i called up there again a month later. They said yes its working. So i drive all the way there for them to tell me that it was still broken. Hmmm thanks for wasting my time and gas. Well i called Just recent to see if there refill tank has gotten fixed. They said no. Omg how long does it take to get repaired? Years? It seems that way. So thats why they get one star.

I love this store. Everything here is cheaper in the outdoor department and the staff usually knows a lot about it and will give you their honest opinion on what you ask them. Now saying this, Ive had only one bad experience here, and that was when a man was looking for hunting gear with his son, the sales associate seemed irritated that the man was asking what he thought he should buy for his sons first squirrel hunting trip. My time at academy was short but the time I was there to pick up the set of golf clubs that I needed and told them to hold for me a day before. They were there went and fetched them and brought them to me. Paid and out the door I went. I had a very good experience there and Im sure my dad will love his new golf clubs. Thanks academy. You guys are better than punk ass Walmart.

Academy has the best selection of merchandise at a guaranteed low price. If you find the same item at a competitor, show them the price and they will beat it by 5%. If you purchase an item at Academy and then it goes on sale within 14 days, they will price match themselves. Their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

The store was an absolute mess. I couldnt find what I came in for. Asked an Associate for some help and boy that was a mistake. Nevermind the fact that his was truly unintetestef in helping but he had no answer to my questions. So it appeared as my business isnt needed or wanted at this location

They have just about anything you could want for sports and outdoors, minus skate bearings and wheels. They have boards and skates, but no parts. That, however, was about the only thing they didnt have. Pretty good prices, too, especially if you can catch it on sale.

Looked online for cheer shoes and it said there were 3 pair at a store located 30 minutes away. We drove all the way there, dug through shoes for 45 minutes and they didnt have them. It was very frustrating and annoying. Probably wont be going to Academy any time soon

Academy has the best prices on guns in Tulsa. They also have a lot of great camping equipment and the occasional sale. My husband and I went in there late when there wasnt a lot of traffic and they watched us like hawks, so that was a little weird.

Nice quality on work out clothing but very expensive. The shorts and tanks are very high priced. You can get less expensive workout cloths to sweet in at other stores. Sporting equipment is also high priced but worth it for the quality.

This place has everything. Ive gone there mainly for footwear, they have a great selection. They have anything you need for workouts. Someone getting into a new sport?? You can get what you need here. A lot of seasonal clothing.

Needed assistance with the Fitbit, I looked at them for 10 min, went to the service desk and asked for assistance. Waited another 10 minutes, and still no one came. I got asked more if I needed anything looking at clothes!!
