Ex employee here. I just want to say that Javier and his minions in the meat department are deceptive and lack any sort of ethical standards. The things that go on behind the counter and in the cutting room are disgustingly unsanitary and hazardous. First off, they mask spoiled meat by rinsing the slime/film off, seasoning it, and extending the sell-by date before putting the items out in the self serve case to be sold (They go quick!). The spoiled food seasoning mask is made from random ingredients in the store as there are no guidelines that are followed. People with any sort of food allergies or sensitivity to spicy foods, beware of any seasoned, marinaded, or sausage items (Recipes loosely followed. No consistency.) Do not purchase ANY reduced price non sale items, as they are borderline rotten. This guy tries to get as much money out of his department as he possibly can.. NOTHING goes to waste. Cutting ground beef with fat trimmings to add weight, weighing/stickering called-in items with trimmings before the customer arrives, or altering the scales to compensate for loss at his discretion. Youre paying for it. Cross contamination is a HUGE problem there as well. Cutting beef on the chicken or pork tables with visible chicken trimmings/slime smeared all over the table, using the same saw blades on everything and never cleaning them, etc. Grinder gets "cleaned" by running new meat through it until the old meat is no longer visible (From chicken to pork to beef etc.) Old items in the full service display cases are doused with water/sauces to give them a fresher appearance and flipped to hide discoloration. Rarely made truly fresh. The seafood stays until it can be smelled from afar, only to be removed for rinsing. The things Javier does throw away far beyond the boundaries of acceptability. I wouldnt even recommend the waste to a Racoon.. But I digress. The trash cans "containing" said waste are conveniently located in the cooler, overflowing due to lazyness, right next to the products he sells. That department is in a state of serious disrepair and needs a re-org ASAP. Cant count the times corporate has been involved. He always gets wind of their arrival beforehand so he makes everyone "clean shop" the day before. They show up, Javiers charade worked, they leave, back to business. Rinse and repeat.

Absolutely horrible! I thought it was just me selecting bad produce/meat...until I read the post from an ex-employee. This morning, I decided to take my watermelon to work that I purchased 2 days ago from Sprouts. 5 minutes into my trip, I kept smelling a horrible odor. I looked around my car - which is always clean and fresh...with cream colored carpet. I thought maybe there was something in the door pocket, so reached into the back floorboard to get the bag my watermelon was in. The bag began pouring out rotten watermelon juice. Im driving, so I pull into a business and throw the watermelon into a nearby ditch. My rear passenger floorboard is puddled with rotten watermelon juice. I pulled out the floor mat and put it in the trunk wrapped in a blanket. I took another blanket to try and soak up the rotten juice...all while on my way to work. Placed the soiled blankets in the trunk on a plastic bag. Ended up being over an hour late to work. tried to vacuum it up myself but the stench was still nauseating while driving. Went to have the area shampooed. Previous time - bought $15 of lunch meat. Put in fridge. Next day, open the bag to make a sandwich and the meat smells sour like its about to turn bad. This stuff is supposed to be good for at least 2 weeks. Previous to this - bought packaged Indian curry and a bag of premade rice - for ease. Got it home, opened the rice - tasted like plastic. Checked the expiration date - expired. 3 out of the 5 products I purchased were expired. Previous to this - Free range chicken, "fresh" green beans... 1 day after purchasing and had been refrigerated- chicken had foul odor (throw away $25 worth of chicken); green beans have black spots and are nearly completely bad. This place needs a serious overhaul in management...that is, if this action isnt corporately driven; in which case, they need to be shut down.

Had to leave without checking out today. The one register that was open had a cashier with a very wet cough who was constantly wiping her face (after each cough). There was also a bagger there. Nobody said a thing or seemed to mind. The cashier was pregnant - perhaps they were intimidated. In either case, I know the difference between an allergy and a respiratory infection. Considering the cashier directly handles your food products, this person should not have been handling any food (cashiering) today. Assuming the cashier and bagger have no common sense (coming to work sick, etc.), it could still be seen as a poor management issue. Clearly a public health threat. In either case, I now view Sprouts with suspicion. A feeling that I, and other customers, should not have to be concerned with. P.S. - I left immediately and did not check out with Typhoid Mary.

This grocery store is a little pricey but it is very convenient. They hardly ever have a long check out line and they are always stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables. If you are looking for anything ORGANIC this is your place. I recently started using all organic hair products and face creams. This last time I was their I forgot one of my bags at the check out counter, I had about $30 worth of salmon and chicken. I went back the next day and they happily gave me a replacement without asking for my receipt. I had thrown it away the night before. They always run specials and have coupons at the entrance of the store. Overall its a nice store conveniently located at the center of corpus.

In just the last month or two, Sun Harvest has added a much larger selection of organic produce. For that, I show there as often as possible. They carry a huge selection of other organic and all-natural products as well. The greatest part is that they do it for much less than any Whole Foods Market. Corpus doesnt realize how good weve got it with Sun Harvest. Oh did I mention that their organic produce is nearly the same price as conventional produce? Check them out.

This was mine and my wifes go to store for healthier options and it is also just around the block from us. But we will not be going back after noticing the 30.07(prohibits open carry of a firearm by license holder) & 30.06(prohibits concealed carry of a firearm by license holder) signs that we some how missed before. Ridiculous.

Great fresh produce and large selection of health foods and supplements. Lots of vegan stuff (LOVE the soy chorizo - perfect flavor and no grease). Ready-made stuffed chicken breasts and jalapeno-cheese stuffed burgers to take home for the carnivores among us. Highly recommended.

Awesome grocery store to shop at. Many items to choose from that are organic, non gmo, natural etc. Price isnt too bad. They have your deals and coupons just like your other grocery store. Workers there are helpful. Food is fresh and packaged neat. Definitely will return
