WORST BOW SHOP ON THE PLANET If a -1000 rating was possible this place should get it. The staff was generally nice, I have stopped in a few times grab a small item or two or get a new string put on a bow over the years. Until today. I was interested in purchasing a fully loaded/decked out new bow. Upon entering the store I saw the same gentleman I usually deal with. After the usual cordials I started to ask about a bow, I also asked who the owner of the shop was. He pointed to a man sitting at a table reading a paper. I walked over to introduce myself, told him my name and put my hand out to shake hands. I am from Texas, we like to shake hands and meet business owners we are about to spend $1,000+ with. This arrogant old man refused to put his hand out to shake mine, wouldnt look at up at me, and wouldnt even peel is wrinkled old nose out of his newspaper to acknowledge a customer. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE STORE!!! Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt I still tried to strike up a conversation and asked him what bow he recommended for someone with my excessive height, he still ignored me. Great way to make a sale! I then asked him if he knew that bow hunting was illegal on 10 acres or less in Comal County (still trying to give the old fart the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was def and didnt hear my earlier attempts). Well, that got his attention; he looked up at me and asked, "How long have you lived here." Of course I told him about a year since I built my house but I have always owned land in Comal County and grew up here. He looked at me and said, well, "You are wrong, you cant hunt with a rifle or gun you can certainly hunt with a bow on 10 acres or less. I do it all the time." I didnt want to argue much, but at this point I already made the decision NOT to ever do business with someone that wont shake my hand so I couldnt help. I told him he might want to look into ordinance 422825. Which in 1993 Comal County commissioners banded bow hunting on 10 acres or less in the unincorporated areas of Comal County? As I walked out he said, "Good day sir." I replied it is unfortunate that I will tell every person I know in the outdoor community to never come in this store. He said he doesnt care he has sold bows, "all over the world" and he is "way older than me and I am too young to know anything" Yep, at my "young" 40 years and having managed tens of thousands of acres of hunting property in Texas in my life, and having bowed my first deer at the age of 8 I dont know anything...ha, ha. Well, it gets better, he hopped up from his seat, followed me outside threatening me the whole way that he would have me arrested and he has me on camera (for what I wonder). Also stating he would, "shoot me with a bow because that is legal on 10 acres or less." Funny how he waited to be outside away from his staff to say this. Needless to say, dont ever go in this place. I have read tons of reviews just like this not paid much attention, but they are true. Arrogant, Entitled, crappy business person that should be shown by his customers NOT going into his store how to treat someone. Again, dont waste your time here, there are plenty of bow shops that are very nice and appreciate business and customers. Try Freds bow shop or even Cabelas or Bass Pro. This place is horrible.

Horrible....RUDE and ARROGANT!!! Recommend taking business elsewhere! ! The owner is disrespectful and and acts as if he is too good to answer questions and do business with you. Tried to buy a bow for my son from here...He was rude over the phone when I asked what brands of youth bows he had. He would not answer me and just kept saying "Theres hundreds of bows on the market, what do you want me to do name off every single bow in stock?" I said "no I just want to know what youth bows you carry in stock." and he continued to be a jerk and not tell me. Then my husband purchased a bow from somewhere else because he would let him purchase it over the phone (we live 1 1/2 hr. away) and when he took it in to have it set up he was a jerk and got mad cause he didnt buy it from him. When my husband explained to him that he tried to buy it from him he denied my husband calling him and then threw him out of the store! Go to The Bow Shop in San Antonio, much nicer and willing to work with you :)

Just went to this place today to have some tuning done on my TenPoint Cross Bow. The owner was a little short on conversation. Not rude but wasnt overfriendly either. Bottom line is if you are looking for a friendly conversation call someone who cares. If you professional service, accurate information, and have your equipment treated properly than this is the place. I go to a bar to shoot the bull not an archery store. I would recommend this place to my Grandpa if he was still with us. Please keep in mind I did read the reviews here before I left. Point is people will take the time to whine about something but would not say anything if they were happy. PS His prices on service were very fair to me

I wont go into details about my 3 experiences with the owner, Tim, but all I can say is how the heck is this store still in business with such a rude and horrible people person. The store manager is great and very knowledgeable but because of Tim, I will NEVER send any business there. Im an archery enthusiast and have dealt with most the archery stores in and around San Antonio. They dont get much worse than this. If you happen to go there and Tim is not there, you will have a great experience. For anyone that deals with this guy, WATCH OUT!!!!!

I am a beginning archery enthusiast, if Tim was as bad as these people say I would have ended up frustrated and probably give up. Not only was he kind and pleasant he was very knowledgeable. He tuned my bow, showed me what I was doing wrong with in an hour had me hitting the bulls-eye, and the only thing I payed for was the peep. Because of the courteous and knowledgeable staff I wont be going anywhere else it is definitely worth the 30 minute drive.

Top notch service, Tim the owner is the most knowledgeable person I have met when it comes to bows. The place is great, its clean, organized, and well stocked. I spent hours there shooting and talking with Tim and his wife who is also very knowedgeable. I dont understand why some people have given this place and Tim a bad rating. I love it there. Look for me on Saturdays and thats where I will be.

This place is a bit of a drive for me but I dont mind making it one bit. The lanes are never crowded during the week (I cant speak for the weekends) and the staff is helpful and knowlegable. The place is clean and organized and the bowsmithing is very reasonably priced. I made the drive from South San Antonio 3 or 4 times to warm up for deer last season and every experience I had was excellent.
