I have been shopping at Duggan Diving for years now. They always greet me with a smile and a cheery disposition. I have taken numerous courses from recreational classes to technical level diving course. The instructors are top-notch professionals who are concerned about making sure you understand academic material, can perform challenging underwater skills, and are available for continued mentoring and growth. The owner has been diving for nearly 60 years and wants to share his experiences with everyone he meets. He imparts knowledge that most people dont know (ex. Why is 130 the recreational limit, why not 125 or 100?) Next time, you go in you should ask him that question and others like it. His knowledge about diving blows my mind, especially when he starts doing the diving physics math in his head! The sales staff is very knowledgeable and concerned about making sure you receive the gear that suits your specific needs. While they spend time getting to know you, they learn about what type of diving you plan and assist you in selecting the right type of gear. They do not attempt to over sell you on the latest, greatest, most technically advanced gear if you are only going to dive on family vacations once or twice a year. On the other hand, if you are an avid diver looking to enter the technical realm, they will not sell you something that will not meet the demands of that type of diving. I have found that when purchasing gear, you cannot beat the prices. While I am sure you could find something on a "discount" or in the "digital classifieds" for a cut rate price, after purchasing it and having it serviced you may end up spending more than the brand new gear in the store. My second thought with that would be, why would you buy life support equipment online when you dont have any one to back it up. Duggan Diving stands behind the gear they sell and have several repair technicians that are able to fix any problems that may arise. On top of the outstanding customer service, they have a dive club and regularly scheduled dive events. There are weekly dive led by instructors and/or divemasters. During the monthly Dive Club event, they raffle of some top of the line gear. Additionally, they bring in vendors who allow you to test different gear/equipment. I actually just bought a BC for a family member because the ScubaPro rep allowed her to test the BC during last months dive event. Next month, Hollis and Oceanic are coming out to try some of their gear. The Dive Club also does "themed dives" last year, they did a superhero dive where everyone dressed up like their favorite superhero. This months theme is zomies vs pirates.

I had the exact same experience as the other poor review on here. Impressed with initial customer service and pricing, until I got in the door. I was there right when they opened and couldnt get fitted for my gear because he was busy filling tanks and no one else was there to help, no big deal at first, so I came back at a better time he recommended, which was a busy time with 6 or 7 people in a small, cluttered shop. I tried on my wet suit in someones office which was a wreck with junk everywhere including their inventory, which is my next problem, they didnt have my size boots so they had to order but let me have a pair to use during the course and would call me approximately a week later when they came in, these rentals were falling apart literally. After getting done with this disaster I scheduled my appt with my instructor who was great, the course was handled very well and professional. After two weekends of diving I returned to the shop to turn in my certification materials to be filed with NAUI and hopefully pick up the boots that were ordered two weeks prior, still no boots, told I will receive a phone call when they come in like last time. My wife also took this class with me as a refresher and she was told it will be $40, it was until she needed to get the new certification which is another $30, this was never mentioned beforehand. Now over a month has passed and I havent received a phone call or my certification in the mail. Went back to the store and was told the certification will be in soon and boots were there waiting for me to pick them up based on a phone call that I never got. Now a day later I receive an email asking me to review my NAUI course experience, sounds like they just filed it to me.....I advise anybody to steer clear from this shop, good price but that is it, very unprofessional, nobody there knows how to run a business and it only hurts the customer after theyve paid upfront. Would happily pay another $200 to a shop who cares.

Poor customer service and follow up. We spent time shopping around and found the initial customer service and pricing very nice so we returned to make our purchase. Everything we wanted was not in stock and an order would be replaced the next week. We were told that the item we wanted would be on that order and we would receive a call when it had come in. Well two weeks had gone by and no call. Dropped in and inquired as to the status of our missing item to be told, “They came in and were sold right away to a class that had just ended. There will be more on the next order in a few weeks.” Asked why the item was not reserved for us as told and got response, “Sorry, we could not find your number.” We ended up buying another item, just not the color we wanted, and got charged 44% more on the same item we purchased two weeks prior. The explanation give was that it was a mistake and he took it in the shorts and that he would refund the full amount if we are not happy, but that was the correct price. We will not be recommending anyone to this store and would recommend everyone watch the stores pricing from week to week as they change.

Compassionate, Professional, Knowledgeable and GREAT Customer Service!!! The instructors (Donnie Friend, Tom Carnes, James Graham) take their time to teach you properly and assure that you fully understand the principles, techniques, and skills of safe diving. I was recently certified for my Open Water Course and definitely noticed the difference between the Duggan Diving instructors and the other dive shop instructors. On both of my open water dives at the lake (Sat & Sun), I saw how the other instructors were just about accomplishing the required skills and not about having fun diving. Not only did the Duggan Diving instructors provide me with more dive time, but also with great care and concern, to make me enjoy the sport, as I am an amputee. I would highly recommend the Duggan Diving family for all of your diving needs! Whether your just curious about checking diving out or have serious equipment needs. These folks will show you "personalized" service by going the "extra mile"!!!

If you appreciate disorganized, unreliable and unprofessional people, then this is the place for you!!! On more than one occasion, we have had to reschedule because office staff and instructors cant seem to write dates down correctly and when you ask them to find information they pull out stacks of scribbled down sticky notes. And when appointments are missed there is no apology and no attempt to work to reschedule. They act as if youre the one that screwed up. My husband and I missed out on the dive trip of a lifetime because this operation missed our certification course date and then after a two-bit "familiarization course" (in which the instructor wasnt even present for) he informed the dive shop at our destination that we were not experienced enough to make the dive. ALL AROUND BAD EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME! I will find a new dive shop and a new instructor!
