Stay away from Gallery of Pets. Many manufacturers offer a guarantee on their food and products. Many even put write on their product that if you are not completely satisfied to return it to the retailer you bought it from for a complete refund. Gallery of Pets does not do refunds. They don’t list it on the receipt or anywhere else I could see. Even if they did, by selling products that the manufacturer offers that guarantee, Gallery of Pets must abide by it. If they don’t want to offer refunds, then they should quit selling those products. I asked to see a manager and Mike told me that the manager is busy doing paperwork and won’t come out. So the customer service there is horrendous as well. There are other retailers that you can go to for the same products and superior customer service. Right up the road by no more than 2 miles: Bentley’s Biscuits & Bones Other retailers: Whiskers N Tails in Cedar Park Tomlinson’s which has various locations around town. All three listed above are locally owned stores for items pertaining to dogs and cats and all have excellent customer service. Stay away from Gallery of Pets and if you must buy there, use a credit card so when they refuse to issue a refund, just call your credit card company and let Gallery of Pets eat the cost. The food I was trying to return, Gallery of Pets would have been issued a credit from their distributor. So it would have been a $0 cost to Gallery of pets. Keep that in mind before you shop there. As for some reviews that say they offer buy 10 bags and get 1 free; that is offered by the manufacturer and the three stores I listed above offer the same program.

This claim by Mia that Gallery of Pets switched out her bird is preposterous. I visit this store frequently and the staff has always been extremely helpful and kind, even if Im not buying anything. Theyve even helped me with questions about birds that Im looking at from other sellers. I would never believe a claim that they switched out a bird. They also mark every sold bird that Ive seen. Thats how I know which birds are available when I go to visit. When you buy a baby bird that is still being hand fed from Gallery of Pets, they keep the bird until it is weaned. This is a time of great development and changes for a bird. The sweet, cuddly baby bird that you met is going to be more mature and possibly less cuddly when you take it home, especially if you dont visit it regularly to bond with it. They also tend to get a bit bigger and fill out in the face and body so of course they "mysteriously" look different... thats what happens when things grow up. I have great faith in the staff of Gallery of Pets and would purchase a bird there without a second thought. They are the best taken care of birds that Ive seen in a shop and Ive been looking around a lot as Im searching for an African Grey. This shop is the best Ive seen by far. Please do not believe the ridiculous claims about birds being switched out and unhelpful staff members.

Absolutely unbelievable. When going there to get a first bird for teenage grand child, was astounded at how knowledgeable these people are. Incredibly they wont sell you a bird until you bring the cage in and they get the bird used to it for a couple of days (theres NO charge for this). A friend gave us a cage, but the spacing on the bars was too large for the small parakeet we bought. So we bought a proper cage. They helped set it up with the things we needed (which we had no knowledge about - millet holder, toy, pumice perch, etc.) They put our little parakeet in it with a companion. Theyll will weigh him and make sure hes eating properly and comfortable in the cage. This is a couple of days or a week. Then we can take him home. Theyre there 7 days a week to answer questions in person or on the phone. Theyll trim feathers anytime (except Sundays) for free. Forever. $10 a year puts you into their Pet Club, which gives you a 10% discount. I saved more than $10 already and havent even brought our bird home yet. Shopping at this store brought me back to the early 1960s, when customer service actually was more than a phrase and meant something. Pretty cool to see them giving "Alice" her breakfast. This huge tortoise got led to her meal with a squash. I couldnt imagine EVER going to another pet store in Austin.

I and my boyfriend love this place. I discovered this place because they clean the tank at my previous employer. Kathy, Glenda, Joe and tristen really know their information. My boyfriend had been wanting to begin a fish tank we were undecided whether to go with a salt water or fresh water tank. One day we decide to shop around since we had money available and boom i thought of Gallery of Pets. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed and very well taken care of. We asked a lot of questions that might seem kind of stupid 2 others, but they never once seemed frustrated with us. They got us going on our salt water tank which is very expensive. We were super excited and we got started ever since were there about once a week sometimes twice... whenever i need 2 know something i dont hesitate to call them. They know everything and anything you need to know about fish, birds, dogs and etc. We literally stay there 10 mins extra talking to joe and glenda. I really hope they decide to stay in business for many many years 2 come... i love spending my money at a place where i feel extremely comfortable...excellent customer service. I recommend this place to everybody and if you have a bad experience it may be your fault LOL ...

I went to this store and was initially impressed at the care they took of their animals. The fish tanks looked great! Unfortunately the care lavished on the previously stated was not apparent in their hermit crab efforts. The cage for them was quite small, and in a very drafty area. They had no access to fresh food, only one dish of presumably fresh water, and very little substrate to dig in. The water is what bothers me most. It was in a smooth bowl that a small crab would find very hard to get into and had a large synthetic and filthy sponge in it leaving no room for a crab to drink! Not that there was any water in it in the first place as the sponge had sucked it up. When I mentioned this an employee gave me a huff and a glare and squished the sponge down with a finger to prove it was damp. True a bit off water eeked out but not enough for a crab, let alone 3 to drink! I would not buy anything from this store until they start taking better care of all their animals!

Me and my wife decided to take a drive from south Austin to checkout this store and look for some items we were looking for. When I first walked in I notice a nice looking store with some great selection. We walked to the back were the birds are and there was no employee there but then a girl showed up. My wife tried to ask her a couple of questions and was ignored both times. Another costumer got there while we were still there and saw a difference in costumer service. My wife felt uncomfortable and decided not to try and ask anymore. I wasnt going to purchase anything anymore but since we drove from south Austin decided to buy a couple of items regardless of the costumer service. My wife was telling me on the drive back home that she had never been to a store with that kind of costumer service.Sadly to say we will NEVER go back to that store because of the costumer service we received.
