Selection is nice, some associates are nice and fun to chat with. Now for the meat of my issues with this location. I own reptiles, they are amazing and fun to have. My issues with PetSmart extend beyond just the store level. Here are a couple of store level reasons first... There is no dedicated associates to reptiles, why is this an issue? you may ask, because they have a dedicated level of care that needs to be put in. And despite this obvious issue they dont have a dedicated associate(s) Next the manager we encountered one of our visits wouldnt let us handle a chameleon, because they are high stress animals. We knew that issue, but the poor little lizard wanted out to visit and was too big for the tiny 10 gallon tank it was in. We even tried to explain not all lizards have the same personality. I have seen many attention loving chameleons. The next time we visited said lizard we got to handle the little one. And blew the associates mind at how much fun the little lizard had using our hands as a jungle gym. Now for my issue beyond the store level. And it irritates me every single time I see it. The separation of bearded dragons, and lack of knowledge that comes with having no dedicated reptile department employees. We were minding our business playing with one of the friendly baby lizards when a family was getting ready to purchase a bearded dragon. The associate said "yeah they even change color" we didnt even say anything, although we should have, but so few people buy reptiles due to "fear" and we just were glad the little one was getting a home. Now for my biggest issue. Baby bearded dragons can have some vivid colors and patterns sometimes, but those fade with age. They split the baby bearded dragons into two groups and charge an extra $50 making them $75 before taxes. Seriously PetSmart? Ive seen "fancier" bearded dragons at other stores for $25. My bearded dragon was $25 at Petco had vivid orange stripes on her head and along her back in spots, now they are a just as beautiful faded amber color. Corporate needs to have this issue brought up to them. If they want to sell fancy bearded dragons get special morphs like sand fire, citrus, and others. Not regular bearded dragons with splashes of color that are for hiding in the wild while they are semi arboreal. I feel this dragged on, but Im a reptile owner and very passionate about having people expand their knowledge.

I only give PetSmart Grooming a single star because I cant give it a negative. I went in to schedule an appointment. They could not find any records of my animals although I had taken them there before. Second, when verifying vaccinations they told me they could call the vet and get the records. I show up for my 8 AM appointment and they wouldnt take my dogs because "that vet wont give us records over the phone" says Josh. He then recommends I go get the records from the vet and bring the dogs back, as if I didnt have a full day of appointments myself. Josh some of us pet owners work and cant run all over town chasing documents that your co-workers said they would be glad to get. I asked if I could just have Banfield (the vet at PetSmart) give them boosters since they have tags that showing they have had their vaccines. Josh said "no, we have to wait 2 days after vaccination to groom". Josh didnt seem to care that I had driven 17 miles to make this appointment and had a full day of work ahead of me. So I left with my dogs and now they have to attend my appointments with me. After leaving I decided to call and recommend they take out the verbiage that "they will call the vet and get the records for us". Josh answered the phone and showed no concern over the miscommunication and when I offered the suggestion that they let us know that some of the vets will not give them info over the phone so we as consumers could be pro-active in getting the info in order to prevent the confusion, his response was an offhand "ok". I cannot say that all PetSmart employees dont care, but Josh definitely demonstrates an attitude of disrespect and a lack of concern for the customer. This is not my first unsatisfactory appointment with PetSmart, though this is the first time I have elected to write a review. This lack of concern for the customer and their inconvenience was by far the worst to date. The other times I just didnt feel like they did a great job. Not horrible enough to require writing a review, just unimpressed. Good luck!

Poor and horrible NEVER going there again. I would give this place a -10 stars if I could. Ive used pet-smart before and have had no trouble for grooming. But for the first time instead of calling i booked the appt online, well I did it wrong. Totally my fault. I signed my boxer up for a cut -- which boxers do no need -- and shes a rare boxer that sheds ( because shes all white) so I needed the super de-shedder wash. I got a call the day before and I thought it was to confirm the appt. The woman there was extremely rude. She asked if my dog really needed a cut and I happily total her "no- shes a boxer----" I was cut off and she stated "I know that! but you signed her up for a cut that we cant do. So it threw off the availability of the groomers and we dont basic care in the morning." I apologized right away feeling a bit embarrassed -- I thought I did the online form correctly -- and I was very apologetic and which the woman on the other line stated very rude. "Do you want to move her to 2 clock appt?" I said yes. She then stated "Fine. And next time you do this we will charge you 5 dollars for the inconvenience of this call." Again I was so embarrassed and apologize again. She hung up on me..... Now I was at HEB at the time rolling my full cart out to the car when the call came in and on my way home I got to thinking and thinking and replaying the conversation in my head and I began to get upset. A) I just lost my beloved male boxer a few days ago and was special treating my female I did not need the harassment. B) It was an honest mistake that I apologize for several times. So once I got home and before putting up my grocery I called back PetSmart and the same woman answered. I stated "I would like to cancel my appt tomorrow at 2, I didnt appreciate our---" She cut me off and stated " Done, whatever." and hung up...... I was so mad!!!! And will never use them again. -10 stars

Horrible place. I used to think it was awesome for the "great" cricket prices, then I look online and seeing were being charged highway robbery for CRICKETS. Anyway, the fire bellied toad tank is completely uncovered. There is nothing stopping the fire bellied toads from getting out. They treat them like fish tank, but fish cannot climb up walls like frogs can. I and my boyfriend on 3 different occasions now have had 3 different employees tell us that these little baby frogs just "get out" and "dry up all over the store". The most recent one Ive heard, just two days ago, non-chalant, "Yeah, they just get out and shrivel up and we find their dried up dead carcasses all over the store..." And then the employee proceeded to continue selling us a frog, which we were going to take care of and LOVE, including our other 15 we have....not leave them without a top on their cage to get out and dry up/shrivel to its death!!! This is an awful way to treat animals, especially such helpless ones who need water to survive and shame on them since they make such a big deal about a damn minnow being put in the "correct environment at home". I will never return here to say the least.
