I had heard mixed things about White Lace and Promises, however after a less than fruitful Friday and Saturday of dress shopping in Knoxville my mom and I decided to stop in a see their selection. As I live out of town, I had been looking at dresses and had a good idea of what I wanted, but was struggling to even find a dress similar to what I had tried on elsewhere to show my mom for a her opinion. We walked in fairly late on a Friday and were told we could look around and try on dresses-very helpful for a somewhat busy day. I found their selection of dresses to be much better than the other stores in Knoxville I had been looking at earlier in the day. They had several dresses that were like the dresses I had seen in the city where I live. My mom even committed that after 3 other stores where nothing I tried on really looked like a wedding dress for me-while here I was quickly able to find 3 dresses there that looked very good on me. At the end of the weekend I special ordered a dress from a line they carry (a dress that they didnt have a sample of) and overall the store did a good job of measuring. As some of the issues I had heard about them dealt with the dress measurements, we were very insistent and asked a lot of questions about what they were measuring. Some of the staff seemed a bit uncertain on the measurement but they checked with more experienced staff when we asked questions. Finally when we said that they were measuring for a dress they dont carry in store they had a seamstress measure me using the instructions from the manufacturer. Also I did notice, the dresses that require special measurements were marked as so on the tag. I also found having the shoes I planned to wear at the wedding for the measurements was very helpful. We also found our bridesmaid dresses there. As none of my bridesmaids live in Knoxville I selected a few dress options that I liked and let them decided which ones they liked. Then they called the store and gave their measurements and placed the order. I did have to call the store twice to be sure the right order was placed; I did have to correct something about the dress length as the dresses were available in the tea and full length dress and originally the wrong length was recorded. My dress arrived within the scheduled time and the alterations person did a wonderful job on my dress. I felt beautiful and received many compliments on my dress. So in summary: Pros: Good selection of dresses and other wedding items Good alterations Timely Everything came in as ordered Cons: Had to stay on top of them about some details (bridesmaid dress length & measurements) Basic advice though, having your wedding shoes on when you are measured for you dress really helps minimize issues with the hem length.

I just recently got my wedding dress from White Lace & Promises. This was my first outing to try on dresses and only the second store I went to. I honestly was not expecting to be able to find a gown in my price range, but they were having an amazing sample sale! Morgan Putty was my stylist and I could not have asked for a better person to have helped me through the process. I had just come from a place that made me feel very overwhelmed, I felt like the consultant did not listen to what I wanted, and she kept barging in the dressing room. Morgan was like a breath of fresh air! She made me feel welcome and excited to try on gowns. Their selection of gowns is incredible. They have something for every bride. I had a very specific style in mind and easily found several dresses. In the dressing room, Morgan made me feel so calm and comfortable. If one dress didnt fit, the way she handled it was so graceful and I never once felt self conscious. I ended up going with the second dress I tried on! They gave me plenty of time to think and went WAY out of their way to help me make my decision. Morgan got the seamstress to come out and personally talk to me about the alterations she could make. She got her manager to help show me the bustle options. They even got a male mannequin to put up next to the dress so I would feel confident knowing what the dress looked like next to my groom. I never asked for anything of this, they just took initiative and had the best attitude the entire time. I would HIGHLY recommend White Lace & Promises to every bride. Even if you dont plan to buy a gown from there, the experience they provide is what every bride deserves.

Beyond disappointing! TOOK MY MONEY WITHOUT DELIVERING THE SERVICE I PAID FOR. The management is in change at this location, and it shows. During my times here to shop for a wedding dress, college girls were in there playing "dress up." One of my bridesmaids and I came in to look at a veil, and NO SALES ASSOCIATED BOTHERED TO HELP us with this potential $300+ purchase. I got my dress from a boutique out of state, but needed it altered in Knoxville. The bustle came undone within the first 15 minutes of my reception, much to my disappointment as I had made sure to ask that it be secure enough to dance. I called to ask for a solution to this problem, as it RUINED MANY WEDDING PHOTOS. They offered half off preservation, so I paid the remainder and asked that the box be sent to where my dress was (out of state). IT NEVER CAME. 3 weeks of unreturned phone calls, emails to Elizabeth (former manager) and voicemails, the NEW MANAGER NEVER CALLED ME BACK. A sales associate LIED and said the box had been shipped out, a few weeks later another sales associate told me THEY NEVER HEARD OF MY ORDER REQUEST. The manager knew I was trying to resolve an issue that began with Elizabeth and NEVER MADE THE EFFORT TO CONTACT ME. I have yet to hear from her or the owner, who worked with Elizabeth on this issue. A sales associate finally credited my money back after I explained I would NEVER TRUST THEM WITH A WEDDING GOWN.

My daughter-in-law was recently a bridesmaid in her friends wedding. She was measured and was told they were ordering a SIZE 2 dress. Now she is a very petite young lady but she wears a SIZE 6!! They were told that if they didnt order that day, the dresses wouldnt be there in time.....they came in just 2 weeks later. So obviously the dress doesnt fit because they ordered the WRONG size. It was a simple chiffon dress with lace on top but was still a $200 dress. She was told there they wouldnt be able to do any alterations for her because "they waited until the last minute" to get the dresses. ALL the seamstresses in Knoxville would never be able to alter this dress so that it zipped up like it originally was meant to. I had to move the zipper down, let the sides out as much as I could AND add loops to draw it up like a corset. BEWARE LADIES WHEN THEY WANT TO ORDER A DRESS THAT IS MUCH SMALLER OR BIGGER THAN YOU NORMAL SIZE! They should always tell you ahead of time what needs to be altered and how much!
