The service is extremely poor. The new cutting procedure is ridiculous - they went from 3 cutting tables to 1 central table. It takes forever to have fabric cut partially because the employees like to chat with each patron about their project. The checkout line is invariably long and forces you through a gauntlet of cheap crap. This is a nightmare if you are shopping with a child. By the time youve gotten through the line youve either said "no" at least a dozen times or youve given in to pacify. Either way you wind up leaving tense and angry. When I complained I was told that the shopping line was redesigned that way "for my safety." Bologna. Also, I was hoping that the recent remodel would address the bathrooms, which are some of the nastiest in Knoxville. No such luck.

I hate going to Jo-Anns. Every visit no matter how slow or busy, it seems like you spend 45minutes in the checkout line. If you need to get fabric cut, I really hope your not in a rush! Because if you think you were just going to run in and grab one thing, you may be able to grab it fast but the employees make you wait, and wait, and wait. Unfortunately this is the only fabric superstore in the area and if you need apparel fabrics I havent seen any alternative. This must be how they are still in business. Because if it were based on customer service they would have been out of business years ago. There has been no improvement.

I unfortunately have to go to this Joanns location for my sewing supplies frequently. There is not another big sewing store anywhere near me. Everytime I go to this Joanns, I have a horrible experience, and dread going back. Most of the employees are rude, very unfriendly and unhelpful. I can never figure out what on earth is wrong with them, and why they are always so mean to me. Everyone else in this town is so friendly, but Joanns is like some kind of vortex that sucks the living soul out of every human being who walks through its automatic doors. The store has everything you need, but the employees will ruin your day.

Jo-Ann always has great selections for crafts and hobbies. Its organized by department so I can find what I need fairly easily and all in one place. Their teacher discount is really nice, too. Customer service is pretty bad, though. Many employees dont understand what youre looking for, and if they do they dont have time to take you to the item. Most people come in looking for only one or two specific items, so this is very frustrating. Imagine walking into a hardware store and no one there knows where to find a screw. You have to search the whole huge store to find one tiny, specific item...it would take hours!

Been a customer for years and never had any issues until today. Blonde "manager" had an attitute when asked why customer service counter was not open for refunds. The checkout line was backed up and she never offered to do the refund until i got loud about it. She talked to me like i was the problem, not them. So, cram your store where the sun dont shine, too many other craft stores to give my business to. Its a real shame that Joann employs subpar managers that run customers off with their lack of people skills.

Its always way 2 hot in there. The employees at the cutting table have got to be the rudest I have ever seen.. checkout .is always backed up. . Its like everytime i go in there i have a bad experience due to a employees beyond nasty attitude and improper customer service ...stuff is priced so bad its insane like ribbon they charge 8$ for a spool u can get for 2-3$:elsewhere. Bathrooms are dirty & outdated. I would much rather go to any store like hobby lobby, michaels, acmoore, etc.

Jo-Ann has a great selection across a wide variety of crafts, but their prices on many items are outrageous. The same spool of ribbon Jo-Ann sells for $5.99 is $1.99 at WalMart. Im OK paying a slight premium for great selection and service (and to not shop at WalMart) but a 3x markup is too much. As long as you only buy items with coupons (i.e. buy only a few items at a time) its a great place to shop, but I wouldnt pay regular price for most of their merchandise.

Amanda in the framing Dept went out of her way to be nasty to me just because I asked about the 50% off that was advertised behind her. She let me know plain & clear that JoAnns doesnt need my business, so I went across the street to have my 2 prints framed & gave them my $549.00!! JoAnns will no longer get my framing business - thank you Amanda for letting me find out how good Fast Frames is!!!

We went in to just look around and granite we knew they were about to close so we were hurrying up; however, we were rudely told to leave by one of the ladies back at the fabric table. The only reason I am giving a three is because of sweet Emily at the front cash register who helped me save 50% by telling me about the coupons online.

Short-staffed, unacceptable customer service. I dont recall having ever been spoken to so rudely before by an employee anywhere; theyve permanently lost a customer. JoAnn management needs to recognize the systemic problem this store has and get their act together. Your employees are an extension of your brand, and theyre ruining it.

I had a great experience. With no knowledge of fabrics, I was lost. The girl cutting fabrics helped me with suggestions for my my project, and she also went to the back to find a pattern for me! I like the central cutting table. Just get a number when you first walk in and THEN go get your fabric. Duh, people!

First exsperaince was great and got materials to make a cosplay setup and then today calling about material they got snarkey with me and told me I have to come see what they have. I will still be going there because I have no choice but its a shame people are just so rude nowadays.

I have been to this Joann store many times over the years, but today will be my last. The wait was over 1 hour to get fabric cut and over 30 minutes in the checkout line. Do they do this because most of the customers are women who wont complain? It is inexcusable.

Jo Anns in Knoxville is a prime example of how NOT to provide customer service. Long non-moving lines and surly personnel. Two visits - one in November and one early January. Same problems both times. Ill take my $$ elsewhere.

JoAnns is actually the best craft store in our area, in my opinion. They are nearly always slammed, but when Ive needed help, Ive always gotten help. Their prices are reasonable, and their sales and coupon policy cant be beat!

We are HUGE Jo-Ann Fabric Snobs. We love shopping here. The staff has always been soo helpful and just recently we did a store to store transfer and the fabric came in very quickly. We probably shop here at least once a week.

Pretty nice selection of fabrics. Its usually pretty pricey, a bit more expensive than Id like. I can get cheaper fabrics online. But all of my sewing and painting needs are decently priced and most times high quality.
