Computer Works is a scam!!!! I brought my laptop in for repair and was charged 140.00. I was told the part would be replaced and it would take 3-5 days. I paid them in full with cash 130.00 for the repair and 10.00 for the part. We picked up the computer after two days only to find out that the original part was never replaced but "HOT GLUED!" back into place. AFter three days the computer quite working. When we took the computer back to inquire about the warranty, the owner Charles Bowen told us it would cost 100.00 because he had to open the computer back up a second time. When we asked if the part had been replaced the first time he said no because due to his discretion it did not need to be replaced even though we were charged!! He claimed that we broke the same part in a different place and it was our fault, and to get our laptop back we needed to pay him the 100.00 dollars. When we questioned his ethics he remarked "He was the dictator",

Bought a computer from these DIRT BAGS!!! Found out it was way over priced. Staff was arrogant and talked down to me and everyone else in the store. Put some free garbage antivirus on computer...got a virus two weeks later- computer wouldnt even boot up.. Went to another computer company. They asked where I bought the computer because it was sold without a valid Microsoft license!! Went back to computer works and they said basically “tuff luck” and they dont even sell that Operating System any more and wouldnt even give me a disk. They said they would fix it themselves for a hefty fee, however. Went back to the other computer company, they got my family pics and all of my kids school projects off the computerand fixed it. I had to pay another $100 to by a Microsoft license. Now I am good. I am going to call Microsoft’s fraud line and report these crooks!!!

ComputerWorks saved our Christmas this year! We were in the mountains for Christmas this year and brought my sons gaming computer with us because Santa was bringing him several gifts to use with his computer this year. Once we arrived in Pigeon Forge, his power supply crashed on Christmas Eve which would have made Christmas a little tough this year! Thankfully I called ComputerWorks and they saved our Christmas. We drove 1hr to get there and we were treated with the royal treatment. These guys stopped what they were doing because they knew the situation. After an hr of troubleshooting and replacing the power supply and other tweeks, they saved my sons Christmas. The staff was so friendly and technically savvy and it made for a great experience. Thanks ComputerWorks for making this the BEST Christmas ever for my son!

My first impression of their store was very good. The store was clean, organized and everyone looked professionally dressed. I had several of the employees ask me if I needed help but was treated rather rudely by one in particular. When I asked if they had any special deals going on for the tax free weekend, he laughed and replied "There is no tax". After that he just went back to talking to 2 or 3 other employees behind the counter. I was very suprised that a store this big would not offer any special deals. I went to check out the prices on their used computers and discovered I could get a brand new computer from Best Buy or Wal-Mart for the same price or less. Overall, the store looked good but was lacking in deals and customer service.

We used Computer Works for all of our computer issues and purchased one from them for several years ago. On one occasion they even came to our house for a problem. In February 2017 we took a laptop with bad hard drive for repairs, and found they were under a new ownership.Their estimate was around $300. Our laptop was several years old, so I asked about purchasing another computer. They had a laptop they had refurbished for $500. I brought it home and realized that it didnt have a keyboard style that I wanted, and so I returned it without using it. They demanded a $125 restocking fee...and it hadnt been turned on.I thought that was unreasonable.

I called today about a specific connector and the clerks response to my question was "we should have that but if we dont we can order it for you" Well junior, can you tell me if you actually have one or not? SHOULD does not work in business. Either you did or you didnt. I can get one on Amazon for $6.99 but I would have rather bought locally and not had to wait. There was no effort made on the phone to get the sale or bring me into the store. I didnt feel like he was sincerely trying to help me. I could not recommend shopping here. I would much rather say "SHOP LOCAL" but this place isnt deserving of it.

I went in their because i had heard from a freind that their repair costs blew BestBuy out of the water AND with a faster return rate. I went in and was greeted immediatly where a young gentleman guided me to the service desk and a tech began looking at my computer...they diagnosed me for a bad HDD and luckily they had the one i needed in stock. They put it in for me and installed the new Windows 7(Seeyah Vista...and good riddance) and i had my computer back first thing the nect morning!!! Thanks Guys I will most definately be back.

Finally, great service as well as great products! Had a 5+ year old sony vaio that died and didnt know why. Computer works stuck with it and got it working! Needed a new motherboard, which costs more than a brand new laptop - but these guys went above and beyond to find a cost effective solution for me. Their inventory is always growing and the new management has turned this place around for the better. I can now turn to reliable friendly local business again first, instead of greedy corporate giants!

I dont suggest going here, use to work for them and i keep hearing stories from my close friend who have been to them, of them making promises that they dont keep and over charging, also i know they fake reviews on here. Some are real but most of the positive ones are false (come on putting "i am not a employee here or a short "i like it" here is a dead give away"). Most of there things are over priced and/or gotten at the UT auctions. Just avoid it, save your money and find some place else.

They told me my laptop needed a new motherboard and wanted to charge me over $200 to install. I bought one myself an put it in. It was so easy, but it still never worked. I sold it an the guy I sold it to fixed it in like 5 min! He said it was a bad CPU not motherboard! You think when a place that is suppose to know how to fix a PC would know that the CPU was bad not the motherboard. I called them an asked if they check if the CPU is bad when they check broken computers an they said yes.

Their default solution to a problem is a bad motherboard. Then they charge too much for a simple install without updating any software or drivers. Once my new motherboard was installed the computer still didnt work and they again told me the motherboard was bad. I had it diagnosed by another person elsewhere and it was working perfectly. Turns out the CPU was bad all along. I wont be returning here.
