I’m not a big fan of anyone who has a slew of 5 star reviews, simply because I don’t feel that anyone in any business can make that many customers happy, and herein lies the irony, because if I’m being honest, I have no choice but to give Apex Computers a 5 star review. One day, not so long ago, I went to turn on my ancient Dell laptop and was greeted with…nothing. Not even the blue screen of death. It just simply wouldn’t turn on. Being a recent transplant to GA, I wasn’t sure who to take it to. The only national computer company I knew was Geek Squad and I figured that unless I got audited, I wasn’t going to pay what they wanted to charge me just so I could retrieve 10 years of tax forms and nostalgic photos of when I used to be skinny. My boss recommended Kevin at Apex to me, but to put it in politically correct terms, my boss is not one we could call (by any stretch of the imagination) computer literate, so I had my doubts. In the end, I figured it wouldn’t cost me anything just to have Kevin take a look at the laptop. It was already dead, so even if he wasn’t the PC wiz my boss proclaimed him to be, it’s not as if he could make the condition of the laptop any worse. Plus, his shop is really close to my office, so the convenience factor cinched it for me. I was happy to find out that the diagnostic test was free. Unfortunately, Kevin figured out that the laptop needed a new motherboard which would cost more than the laptop was worth. After he gave me a few alternatives and we discussed my options, we decided on him transferring everything from the laptop on to an external hard drive so I wouldn’t lose my “yes I used to be thin and pretty and here’s the proof” vanity pics. Who knew that if you had the right skillset you could actually retrieve data from a completely dead computer? Since I’d already promised my first born child to the dentist, I was ecstatic to find out that I wouldn’t have to sell my soul to pay for this data retrieval, the price was more than reasonable. That was May of this year. Since then I’ve harassed him from time to time with other computer work and it’s always been for less than I expect it to be or it cost me nothing more than an imploring smile. It would be great for me ego to believe that it’s my pearly yellows that get me the great prices and occasional freebies, but alas, I think that’s just the way Kevin is. He tries to work with you and your budget whenever possible. And when it’s not possible, he gives you alternatives. Really can’t ask for better than that, which is why I’m giving him 5 stars.

BEWARE!!! I had all the signs, but ignored them until I showed up and attempted to do business with them. Let me explain... I called them when doing my google search because obviously they pay for ranking so I gave them a shot. He started out saying that we would be 10 to 15 minutes away. "Do a google search and see" is what the man told me. When in his "so called" repair shop - I over heard him telling 2 other people over the phone the same exact thing. We pulled up to a location that looks like it should be condemned. His business, if you can call it that has cardboard for Apex signs.... that is professional... huh? NOT..... in an attempt to explain our Wii U problem... he proceed to tell us we were wrong and started talking about our car fan. REALLY? What did that have to do with our gaming system? Had us fill out a form to have our "FREE" Diagnostic. After filling out our information he then asked us to initial the line next to the place he just circled... which I decided to read (GOOD THING) because his FREE Diagnostic WAS NOT free. It was $45 dollars. SO A BIG ADVERTISING LIE. So we left and kept our information because we did not and do Not Trust Him. There are plenty of repeatable companies that work out of clean safe places that truly offer free examinations. Know that you will pay a lot more for your repair than necessary because he will lie about the work being done and you will not be able to prove one way or the other. By the way... our 15 minute was actually 43 minutes. NOT WORTH THE DRIVE - because he is very shady. BEWARE

Apex! Computer Inc. is GREAT! My daughter’s Xbox360 stopped working shortly after I purchased it… (the 3 Rings of Death). I promised her for several months that I would get it fixed, and never had the time to research a place. I noticed a sign on the curbside of Steve Reynolds Road one day that said "Xbox 360 repair". I never bothered to stop by for being concerned that it would be very costly, and I would be paying for a new one all over again. I was advised by many of my friends that the game console was unfixable. Well, after plenty of begging from my daughter, I decided to give Apex a call. Kevin took time to explain to my daughter what caused the rings, also added a fan so it wouldn’t over heat anymore. The price was very reasonable and she told everybody who was having the same issue. I was so impressed with his work that I took back 3 desktop computers that my dad had in the garage for the next trash day. I am pleased to say “Another job well done”. If you have any computers or game systems that you think can’t be repaired you should give Apex! Computer Inc. a call and ask for Kevin. His pricing is reasonable and he will be honest with the outcome! Thanks! Kevin you are the GREATEST! Monte.W

Worst place to bring your xbox I brought mine in and they said they couldn't reapir it because there was a crack on the motherboard, all they did to the xbox was replace the x clamps with screws and say they couldn't fix it. The owner is not a people person he called me and I asked him is there anything at all that can be done and he gave me an attitude. I picked up the console and the owner gave me another attitude saying oh your the one with the xbox we can't fix when that comment was not necessary. I brought the xbox to another place immediatley and they checked the board nothing was wrong with it all they even told me that apex comp inc. Didn't even reflow my xbox nor did they remove the old thermal paste. The guys I brought it to proved apex wrong and were able to fix my xbox and is working perfectly fine. They even reflowed my board cleaned everything and tested the xbox before returning it to me Over all do not bring your xbox here. If u wana do a cheap fix go ahead by all means bring it here but the owner is not professional at all and doesn't deserve to have customers if he's guna give them attitudes.

I was searching for an XBOX 360 repairer in late Novmeber. After 2 weeks of getting he run around with a local repairer here in the Augusta area I found APEX Computer repairs. I priority mailed my XBOX on Saturday 15 December. Monday evening I authorized the work and agreed with the price. On Tuesday my XBOX was priority mailed to me. My sons birthday party was on 22 December. We had purchaced Sky Landers and all his friends bought him Sky Landers. If the XBOX wasnt fixed He would have had a terrible birthday, Christmas and winter break. Being that I live in the Augusta Georgia area I had considered driving to APEX. The owner said he would have it fixed for me the same day before my trip back him. I decided to save the drive and mail in the XBOX 360. Although, I now reside in Georgia Im a native New Yorker. We dont have much trust in others. I am very happy with the repair of the optical lens. I would highly recommend APEX. Im certain that I will use them again once my kids cuase it not to work again. Thank you APEX you saved my sons birthday, Christmas and my peace.
