Buyer beware! I have never written a review for anybody but this business made me so angry I absolutely have to tell the world not to ever go here. My experience follows. The appeal of this place was the fact that they sold products from all over asia close to where I live and for a slightly lower price than King Soopers. For the hard-to-find Japanese radishes (aka Daikon) and packaged squid/calamari (similar to "tako"), this market was too good to be true. And it was. I purchased both the Japanese radishes and calamari. At the time of purchase, I looked through the clear plastic window showing the squid on the front of the package and it looked great. When I got home, I flipped to the back and looked at the nutritional value there, and I saw green mold. And the expiration date shows March 2012. Its currently July 29, 2011. I went back to the store, showed it to their customer service manager and tried to return it. She refused to take it back, she refused to exchange it, and she refused refund me. I am not an unreasonable man and I acknowledge that I did not look closely enough at the packaged product (through the clear window on the back), so I was willing to go half-way (refund me for half because I only looked at the front half). However, her response? No. All sales are final. She also said I shouldve put it in the refrigerator. Well, first off, its dried, packaged goods. You dont put chips into the fridge do you? And second, the mold was already there. Whats the point of putting something moldy into the fridge when theres already mold on it? And so you know, I still have NOT opened the package yet. In summary, if you must go to this place, never, ever buy anything from this place without looking through the product meticulously. Personally, I will never go to this place ever again. Id rather pay the extra $5 for the same thing from the internet or drive an extra 10-15 miles to the Far East Center out on Alameda and Federal than buy stuff from this business.

Hey its yo*your boi Kev, today we gonna review some Asian megamart, you know the one Im reviewing right now. Now to first start off, this restaraunt is very traditionally Asian so you are going to deal with culture if you are a close minded person or just havent dealt wih Asian culture before. Another thing to mention is this store is huge, I could write forever about this place, cons and pros, but Ill stick it short though. For the first pro of this store, is you have variety of vegetables, both imported from Asia, America and who cares. These vegetables include you know, corn, asparagus, and other known veggies that both Asians and Americans have grown to love. The second pro here is tat tgis store doesnt try hard and feels authentic as in the Asian culture here is real and not some cheap knock-off. The third pro I have about this store is that has a nice selection of everyday home decor and thinga like couches, weaboo stuff [oh god, weaboos], and other items that would bright up your home. Now on to the cons. The first con I have with this place, is it has a terrible smell of fish, so bad I would near cry, I mean I dont understand why they just cant cover up that smell IF ITS INSIDE, if it was me, I would fix that. The 2nd thing I would say about tgis store is the workers look like meh....why you here? You know, like they dont wanna work there. If you dont like you job, then quit. And the third thing I would say about this store is the dreary walls. Its so gray and boring, it makes aesthetically bad. Like its too bad. Bow moving on to the conclusion, I would shop here, just watch out fir weaboos or smelly fish. 4/5

This is a go-to place for all asian products. Well, maybe not all asian products. Mostly Eastern Asian products. The parking lot is not well managed. The asphalt is not well paved and there are loose gravel all around as well some pot holes. Building may needed a new painting job to please the eye. The store only one set of sliding doors for entrance and one set of sliding doors for exit. When you come in, the store takes you straight to the produce section. Produce section is well organized, however, the laminate floor may needed to be cleaned and polished a bit. The staffs are a bit too serious and hardly smile, unless you smile at them. It was also a bit hard to communicate with the staffs if you do not speak their language, which are Korean and Spanish. They do know simple English, however, it was hard when you asked them where specific things are. I sometimes give up asking. The cashier line do get too long and the waiting time on a busy day gets quite long. Overall, they do provided great products, from vegetables, fruits, fishes, and asian snacks, to chop sticks, pillows, rice cookers, and massage chairs. If you love oriental food and products, then H Mart is a place to shop. Oh yeah, they also have an optician within the store.

At least 5 times now I have gone to H-Mart and they have closed early. The sign on the window of the front door says that it is open until 9:30pm every day of the week but I have shown up several times prior to 9:20 and even 9:15pm and the door is locked. Im coming from work and driving to get there on time. Either change your dang hours or stay open. If I knew they closed at 9:10pm I wouldnt make the drive and waste my time. Another complaint is that the only employees you can find that arent behind the checkout register supposedly dont speak English and only speak Spanish. Well guess what, when I speak Spanish to them they magically dont know where anything is. They tell me to wait and they will go check and then they never come back. Ive caught them hiding waiting for me to leave. Poorly managed, poor customer service but if you want to find rare Asian food there are only a couple of other places to try and most of them have bad reviews. There is a Thai grocery on Kentucky and Airport that is great, the owners are so nice, friendly and helpful. I just wish they were bigger. I give them my business whenever I can because they deserve it, H-Mart does not deserve it.

I do shopping on a monthly basis at this store and like to share some of the worst experiences I had in the past. (#1) I bought a bag of rice and opened it after a week passed to cook some rice. What I found is about one hundred or so small bugs inside - I was so mad and what makes me more angry is their "I-dont-care" 7 day return policy. So shoppers beware! FYI, according to the bottom of the receipt, it reads "Meat, Fish, Produce, Diary, and other Frozen Products MUST be returned within 24 hours. All products MUST be in ORIGINAL condition for return." Are you kidding me? (#2) I bought a slice of salmon thats already wrapped in, and the name tag is "Salmon for Sashimi". So I thought I could eat right away as anybody would eat sushi. What happened next is I had a severe stomach flu for a month or so after I ate that salmon. If you are or someone you know is a local food authority / health inspector, please check the quality of all the food items that this store is selling. I dont think this Asian grocery store, H Mart, is as tightly regulated nor inspected as any regular American grocery chain.
