Astoundingly incompetent! I made three trips to this location trying to get a replacement mandrel assembly for my mower. Despite bringing my model and serial numbers all three times, the staff would stare at Parts Direct as if it were Greek, then cast about for whatever mandrel was on the shelf that loosely matched my description. Finally the manager insisted that my mower must have been cobbled together from spare parts, when the truth is that neither he nor his staff could locate their collective rear end with both hands and a map. These people literally had serious difficulties comprehending the idea of part numbers. Im not joking. At one point, the kid helping me stared at the computer screen for at least a minute, silent, before finally asking, "So, uh, whats a mandrel?" The manager never showed the least concern that Id made three trips because they couldnt figure out how to type numbers into Parts Direct. Sears corporate was just as bad, offering a paltry 10% discount for the time I wasted -- and then, because of their asinine return policies, insisting that I return to the store a _fourth_ time to order the part. (At one point I was forced to take a gift card for one of the returned mandrels because I was "abusing" their returns, and Sears Parts Direct does not accept gift cards, either online or over the phone.) Sears has lost my business forever, and if their response is any indicator -- they "valued my feedback" but, unfortunately, couldnt do anything to help me -- they dont care. Avoid this craphole.

Paid for a generator that was promised to be delivered to my home within 10 days. A month later, I still do not have a generator, and now I am supposed to go to another county to pick it up. I have contacted the local store, no help there, the 800#, no help either, and online, still no help. I am out a lot of money and have no product. I have been told by sears that I purchased it from a 3rd party supplier for sears. This is not what my receipt shows, nor was i informed of this when I gave my local sears store cash. Sears does not stand behind anything they sell you. Do yourself a favor & shop somewhere that doesnt try to put off their supply problems onto the customer. Otherwise you will be dealing with a supplier & a distribution center instead of sears; neither of which are within 100 miles of me or the store I purchased it from. Update, I talked to my local store that now wants an extra delivery charge for a product that shows free delivery on the receipt & I have been waiting over a month for. Do not waste your time with sears, this is not your hometown store. I will not pay sears for delivery twice. I will rent a trailer(more money out of my pocket) & get it myself. Then my attorney can handle it. I will sue for loss of time & whatever else he can come up with. More money on the day of delivery? After I paid & have the receipt showing free delivery? This is a scam either by the local store or the company, either way I am not paying more money & will NEVER shop at sears again.

Shop at your regular Sears store when it comes to appliances. Hometown Sears in Harriman does not even match SEARS price guarantee of 30 days, only 2 weeks. I bought a refrigerator from Sears Hometown Harriman then about 3 weeks later the same refrig went on sale for almost $300. less. When I went with my receipt to get credited for the difference it was refused because Hometown Store in Harriman is independently owned and operated and will only allow 2 weeks. If I would have only bought from Sears in Knoxville I could have saved the $300 bucks. I wont ever shop Harriman again.

Ive purchased appliances, tools, and lawn equipment here over the years. The staff has always been very helpful and courteous. They sell good quality brands (Kenmore, Whirlpool, Craftsman, Husqvarna) at competitive prices. If they dont have what you need in stock they can order it for you. You will get better service dealing with local Roane Co businesses like this one than you will by going out of town.

The owner and staff are excellent and honestly I wouldnt do any business with Sears because of the way Sears Corporate stores have treated me very bad. I love the hometown store and have all Sears appliances in my house.
