I will start off saying that the staff at Critter Castle is very knowledgable and helpful. I have bought 3 of my snakes and a Chameleon from there. All of which are in perfect health and have given me no problems. The odor in the store that another reviewer said was there, I do not smell. The caging of the animals is a little tight. The store its self though is small and the animals do not seem to mind too much about the tight space. Anyone who knows anything about snakes will know that if the snake can stretch half its body length in an enclosure it will do fine. The mice and such that are in the store are feeder mice, and are often sold in mass quantities to people who have snakes and other animals who eat mice. Overall I approve of this store. Also, all of the items we have bought from the store that are not living are in perfect working order.

This place is the worst place. I went in and saw pythons in small critter cages that you would bring home a hermit crab in. The place smells offal and the tanks that the hamsters and mice are in are cracked. The dragons are in a bird cage with no source of heat, with card board at the bottom. Frogs the size of softballs in little critter cages like the pythons(two in a cage) stacked on top of one another. There water bowls are the size of sauce cups you get in restaurants. Snakes that are shedding can not even move because it is too small. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Their pet supplies are out of date and sun faded. I always thought that places like this were found on TV, never thought I would walk into a place that would be this bad. Its worse just seeing it, let a lone me telling what I experienced.

This place is HORRIFIC! Its like something you would expect to see talked about on one of those animal rescue shows. The place stinks, is totally dirty, dusty, and there are random crickets hopping arround! The poor animals are in over crowded and dirty conditions. Hamsters in little plastic critter keepers with nothing but a water bottle, rats and mice in mixed sex tanks with 10x the appropriate number! Most of their pet supplies are old, dusty, and faded from sunlight. Who knows where this stuff comes from, I wouldnt let it near my pets! Someone needs to investigate this place for animal cruelty, because thats about where its at right now. Last time I went in there I was just so shocked, I didnt know places like this existed outside of TV/horror movies.

Everyone in the store is very friendly, and they know what theyre talking about when it comes to reptiles, or even other animals. I got 2 Bearded Dragons from there, and all of the animals there are SUPER healthy. Mine are still doing just great! And when it comes to prices; this is the best place to go, by far. Pet World, another Boiling Springs pet store, is just way over priced on their merchandise. And as far as the store being "dusty, and smelly", I dont know what that person was talking about. The store is always clean when I go in there, at least 4 times a week. If you want a reptile, or cheaper supplies, GO HERE!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I get all my feeders from here, and occasionally some of the snakes, taratulas, or any of the other amazing animals they get in. I went once, not knowing they were closed, and caught the owner there by chance, closing up and he helped me out anyways, so Super nice! All feeders are healthy, they have wonderful prices and theyre super knowledgable about health, care, keeping and etc. Dusty, smelly, horrific.. what a poor joke. Snakes are beautiful, lizards attentive, and again.. such good prices.

Editing my review from along time ago and the other reviewers are right, the store looks really nice! The merchandise is well priced compared to other stores. If you are tired of lack of variety in the exotic pet section be sure to stop by because they have everything. Its nice to be able to find what you need and not overpay.

Great place to go! Prices are great and staff is friendly. Ive been coming here for years and i always look foward to it.best part is they do not try to pressure you into buying things like most pet stores do,they are very knowledgeable and they want whats right for you and your animals! I will recommend this place to anyone

I have never visited the actual store, but i bought my spider ball python at a repticon from critter castle. She has eaten very well and is active all the time. The staff at the repticon were helpful and very knowledgeable!
