Every time I have been in the store, which is often, the staff has always welcomed me with friendly smiles and has always been quick to assist me in all of my pet related needs. In addition to telling me which products would be the best to use, they also gave me great advice and instructions to setting up all of the difficult things I have done, such as hatching baby turtles. With the staffs knowledge and instructions, all of the eggs I found hatched with no problem! As for the animal aspect, this is the best store for all of the different and cool pets they offer; they really do have the largest variety of all of the various pet stores I have been to. From observing in all of my visits here, all of the animals are happy and healthy! The staff really does take great care of these animals! I have honestly never heard of a single animal having any health problems in all of the years Ive been here. The small town aspect of the store allows for amazing customer service; they really treat you like an old friend, and all of these qualities combined make Pet Connection a great place to go to for any pet need!

quite a few years ago I was at Pet Connection looking at some SharPei puppies they had for said. I clearly could see, (Im not a vet) that one of the puppies had a damaged eye.. I alerted the employee and they removed the puppy.. I agree with the puppy mill comment yet I have not proof that they get their animals from mills.. I do visit there and they insist your sanitize your hands.. they do, have an outside corridor that they used to give their animals outside time..( I have been out there) they do breed rats but I dont see that as a problem they know the health of their rats there fore knowing where they come from and the health of the rats for feeding or rats for pet quality... The people there are not as friendly as I feel comfortable with it seems they are all in their little social circle... I had taken my dog there once to be groomed and I ended up helping the woman do the grooming.. as in holding my dog..that was a little strange.. would I recommend them for buying a dog or cat.... no.. but anything else.. yes.. they have supplies, for fish, birds, dogs and reptiles

A friend of mine rescued three puppies from this place over the weekend. She told us that each puppy was covered in gnats and fleas, and were laying on a cold concrete floor with no access to food or water. We took one of the pups and this morning, turns out he has worms. Were taking him back to the vet today and heres hoping he has no further issues. My friend vetted him once and had him wormed for what the shot record (that this place provided) said was for the third time. Im now assuming my friend was the first to get any of the worming done. This place sounds like a puppy mill and needs to be shut down immediately. Im already contacting the Louisville and Alliance police departments, as well as PETA, the Better Business Bureau, and the Humane Society. The owners should be ashamed. Im only giving it one star because the site says that I have to rate it to save it. But they get 0 stars in reality. *Update: Our puppy had every type of worm imaginable and also had Giardia. Hes a healthy, bouncing boy now, but these people should be shut down. That hasnt changed.

We bought our dog here (Yes, some of you might already object to buying a dog from a pet store). We love him to death, but he has multiple health issues. It is clear he is not from a good breeder. He has knee problems, low blood sugar and vision problems. If you know anything about breeding, those all fall back on the breeder. I also dont like how they house the puppies until they are sold. They are kept in wire crates, meaning they must walk on the wire bottom for most of their lives. That cant be good for them. The only reason this place got a 3 is because they do keep things pretty clean in comparison to a lot of other pet stores Ive been in. They also have some unique animals. Much more than a Petsmart or big box store. Reptiles, snakes, tons of fish, chinchillas, tortoises, big dogs, small dogs, parrots, all kinds of birds, etc. So the selection is nice and prices are good, but I cant condone buying a dog here or how they treat them.

Beware of places that all of the sudden have a bunch of 5 star reviews all in the same time frame especially following a lot of bad reviews. A little fishy dont you think? That being said, This place sells dogs which is always a strike in my book. They do not have a very clean store either. I have seen a lot of small family owned places that do a better job keeping the animals clean and healthy. I will say they do have a huge selection of aquatic, avian and mammals for purchase. We found the staff to be just ok. If they would get rid of the puppies and keep it a little cleaner I feel this could be a better place. Some of the animals just dont have a good living situation. As is, I feel the bottom line and not animal well being takes the stage for this store. I do respect locally owned small businesses and I hope that they can change a few things but in the meantime I will certainly not be a return customer.

This place caters to those who are not educated about proper animal care. They promote puppy and kitten mills. They carry exotic animals that live in horrid habitats, without proper diets, lighting, or room. At one point they had an adult iguana given to them because the owner could not keep it. I informed them that without proper care he would die. I offered to take him in and provide a foster home and give them the money from the sale; they declined. Within 2 weeks he was dead. I called the humane society on them and they lied to them about all the reptiles, told them the back room was just for storage. They breed rats, mice, and i believe rabbits outside in the shed. They are in horrible dirty conditions. IF YOU LOVE ANIMALS STAY AWAY!! Dont take my word for it -- go in and look around for yourself. The people may be friendly, but that doesnt mean the animals deserve to suffer.

Reading these negative reviews honestly had me rolling my eyes. Having just been in the store a few days ago I was not only PLEASED with the cleanliness and lack of bad smell but truly impressed with the knowledge of the staff. They treated me and my daughter very well especially my daughter who has been dealing especially hard with the death of the nearly 2 dozen dead walmart fish we had. Their tanks were all very clean and all the animals were very much alive and well taken care of. The fish we bought are alive and well and very happy. Honestly? I think some of these reviews are sensationalized personal hatred. I dont even know who owns the place but I know the kind of town we live in and this kind of "retaliation" for personal BS is pretty typical and sad really.
