When we unexpectedly had to buy a new car after ours was totaled, in April of 2016, we were initially excited to learn we could purchase a car from the same place our accidental rental was coming through. We were amazed at how awesome and helpful the finance manager (?) was. The options she gave us, helping us with paper work, setting up our finance payments etc. The car we bought from here had half the mileage our old car did, was 7 years newer, hertz Certified pre-owned and for $50 more a month on our car payment we had an amazing extended warranty on top of the manufacturers warranty that was still on the car. However thats pretty much where the happiness stops. The day after we brought our car home we noticed condensation in one of the head lights so my husband called and was told to call whoever we worked with the next day when he returned to the office because the head lamp needed to be fixed. My husband spent over 4 weeks trying to get anyone here to talk to him only to be dodged or redirected and promised return phone calls that never happened. Over a year later we never received anything from them and the head lamp still needs to be repaired. It gets better, I am SO glad we opted for the extensive warranty because less than a year after having this car it needed a transmission flush then TWO days later a brand new transmission (all done through the dealership under warranty) 6 months ago we brought it in for a break problem and was told there was "nothing" wrong, we were charged $100 for diagnostics and still had the problem. Fast forward to today, 15 months since we purchased this car, I just left the shop because of the brake issues that are now 100x worse only to find whoever did the brakes last (whoever hertz goes through because havent been done since we bought the car) didnt even put all the hardware back into the brake system which will now cost me over $400 in repairs because this place is no better than any other dealership that just wants your money then hangs you out to dry

I saw an ad online for a car I liked for $9995, which was within my budget. I contacted the sales person Rebecca 3 times by email and called the day of purchase to make sure the vehicle was available. I had a cashiers check for $10000 and was ready to buy the vehicle on the spot. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a sales staff that not only seem unprofessional, but also lacked basic manners and common etiquette. They spoke about me as though I wasnt in the room, referring to me as, "This Guy." Then they could not find the vehicle I came to see, even though I had given them one full weeks notice before coming. The sales person Rebecca then went on at length about how the vehicle i wanted wasnt very good but did not even offer me any other vehicle instead. She asked me to come back later in the day but I told her I would give them until the following Monday. I just called and the vehicle is still not ready. She still did not offer me anything else, even though I made it clear I am not financing and paying in cash. I will be going to a real dealer instead and paying the extra few hundred dollars. Will not do business with them again.

Im having a very bad experience, I bought a car in March 2016 with an extended warranty from Fidelity Warranty Services Inc. through Don and Barbara at Hertz Auto Sales at 167 Putnam Pike Johnston, Rhode Island 02919, the car damage in August 2016 and I had to paid that repair because the extended warranty didnt want to accept my Claim, then I went up to Hertz Auto Sales in September 2016 to start the process to cancel my contract with this extended warranty. Barbara is a financial agent of Hertz Auto Sales. She is the one that have offered me this warranty at the time that bought the car and now she does not answer my calls. Since September until now January 12, 2017 Im still without my reimbursement. Fidelity Warranty Services Inc. is not accredited by the BBB and Hertz Auto Sales are offering their products. Bottom line please go away you will save more buying from a different place and you dont have to deal with these people.

I have bought two vehicles from these fools in the past. I go in today to buy a third. I wanted to trade in my 06 ford focus. All I wanted was 1k out of the trade. They offered 800. Larry called his boss to see what he could do since I bought two cars from these unethical bastards in the past year. Not only did he say no to the 1000 he said no to the trade overall. Truthfully do i even need the trade.... No not at all but the fact that this would have been my third car I have bought from them in a year should be worth more than the experience I was just given. Worst customer service I have ever seen. Oh well they got me twice. Ill take my money else now.

Complete run around. Went and drove a bunch of cars and narrowed it down to a couple that I liked and I asked for my interest rate for my approval and what my payments would be, because that was going to help determine my decision and the finance manager was out of the office and I was told three different stories about when he was due back. I was told I would have my figures all set up and would be reached on a certain day, and I got nothing. Total waste of everyones time. If you want to be approved and deal with a great dealership then go to Nissan of Norwich. See Sean Horner. Im in a way better car then I had available at Hertz.

I was very pleased with my experience. I was renting a car for my daughters wedding and the manager, Anthony, worked to make sure I had a suitable vehicle.(I had asked for the same consideration from another rental company and they wouldnt even commit to trying.) In addition, Anthony made sure the vehicle was ready in time, even opening a little early so I was able to make it to the wedding location on time. Im in the service business, and I am disappointed as often as I am pleased - Anthony and Hertz provided me great service!

If you are looking for a late model used car at a reasonable price without a lot of the car dealership BS you might want to give Hertz Johnston a try. We got exactly what we were looking for in a RAV4 and the experience was the best car buying experience we have had. I have been around the block with cars down through the years good experiences bad experiences and everything in between. Hertz experience was a good one.

Very rude,, the guy started out very nice n polite, however during our conversation as we are making the sales arrangment, he all of a suddent told me to go somewhere else in a rude offensive way. Not what I was expecting to hear when i walk into a car dealership. This was not cool,, shame on him.

Great place, and great price but be prepared to wait... also the older guy is awesome and the girl too.. but the skinny younger guy is lazy and unprofessional. He needs to learn about customer service
