Purchased a used vehicle from Lovering Nashua. Summary: Good sales experience but the car had a several issues within the first couple of weeks of ownership. Lovering was mostly willing to stand behind the vehicle and help with the necessary repairs with prompting and persistence. Sales experience, very professional, accommodating and polite. Low pressure and great knowledge of the vehicle we were looking at. 5 stars for sales experience. I feel like I got a good deal without haggling and minimal headache. Product received... overall happy with the vehicle. However I had to make a number of minor repairs within a month of purchasing the vehicle. I dont think this vehicle was checked over thoroughly. Brakes, within 1 week the brakes shook when used at highway speeds. My own mechanic recommended I replace the front brakes as a first step, then evaluate the rear brakes after that. To Lovering’s credit they covered the cost of the front brakes. The other issue was with the power steering. It made a lot of noise after the car warms up. It did not happen all the time but got worse and worse. I told Lovering about it and initially they said they couldnt help. There may have been a mis-communications between us because after talking to them again they agreed to review the issue and diagnosis with me. But in the end my own mechanic found the power steering pump had an extended warranty for the issue it was having. I had it replaced free of charge by a Honda dealership. After the repair I realized there was a whine from the power steering constantly previously. The car was so much quitter afterwords. The Honda dealership also took care of an open recall for me on the fuel pump, which I was surprised wasn’t caught prior to sale as it was open prior to the sale. Besides the power steering and fuel pumps the Honda technician noted the rear brakes were dragging and recommend taking it apart and cleaning it. He also noted the brake fluid could use a flush. Update: The car ended up needing a series of other repairs besides those listed below. All told the bill came to around $1500, this included having a friend do the work who gave me a very generous brake on labor. I ended up having the friend do the repairs even though all signs pointed to these issues having existed when I bought the car because Lovering stopped responding to me. End of the day, lesson learned, need to be more thorough and not trust reviews so much. So there were a lot of minor things some of which were maybe hard to notice but apparent if you looked close. At the end I was left with the feeling that this car was not looked over very thoroughly before it was sold to me. Lovering was quick to help with the front brakes but declined to assist or discuss with the power steering pump until I left this google review. This review was edited to account for events that occurred after the owners response below.

I have owned Volvos for most of my adult life, and have been a Lovering customer probably almost as long as the dealership existed! I chose, and stayed with, Lovering because of their values: participation in the community, service to the community, attentiveness to their customers needs, outstanding service, great products, and sales agents who were easy to work with. Their service department is knowledgeable, friendly, communicative, and does great work, especially Shawn. This time I worked with sales associate Anita Davidson. I had brought my 2004 S60 in for its 135K service and to trade it in for a newer model with low mileage that I found on their website. Anita was very personable, asked questions to determine my needs and desires. She is very knowledgeable about each model, can operate the new technology features easily, and was hands-down the best sales associate I have worked with. Between three test drives and waiting for results on the condition of my S60 for trade in, we spent quite a bit of time together! She offered me refreshments, and went above and beyond to make sure every detail was covered, including deleting all of the previous data entered in the technology features of the used car I subsequently purchased. She had that special "Lovering" attitude, puttng the customers needs first. Then came the Sales Manager, Ken Warren. That was a different story. He gave me an estimate for the value of my S60 that was a third of the estimate I received from a trade-in-value website advertised on the Lovering website, and less than half or the estimate I found on Kelleys Blue Book. There was no effort at or room for negotiation. He was only interested in the buck. Since I didnt want to drive my S60 home because it desperately needed a wheel bearing, I decided to go with a deal that offered a S80 with four times higher mileage than the car I wanted, and didnt include the particular technology I wanted. Its a nice enough car, but I felt taken advantage of. Anita has been great, even post-purchase and offered to work with me on some of its technology and I will take her up on that. In my opinion, she is far better suited to being a Sales Manager than Ken, and the epitome of the Lovering attitude I have been accustomed to. Will I go back there? For service, definitely - for purchase, not so sure.

We have been long time BMW owners with their focus on performance, style and technology. As we considered the next replacement to my X3 we knew this time as we grow our family, increased capacity and safety were paramount. We considered the BMW X5, Mercedes GLE and the Volvo XC90. While each sported their unique benefits, the XC90 had unsurpassable safety and technological features at a far better value than the competition. Not to mention the beautiful Scandinavian minimal design and touch screen with CarPlay support. On the weekend, we decided to visit a Volvo dealership with the expectation of simply finally driving one to see if felt as good as it looked on paper. We looked through online reviews on our phone and while the closest dealership didnt have stellar ratings we came across Lovering Nashua that has glowing reviews on Google and Yelp and not too far of a drive. While the dealership is on the older side, we learned later they are currently underway on a complete Scandinavian renovation that sounds exceptional. We were kindly greeted upon arrival by Tom who didnt waste anytime getting us behind the wheel so the car could speak for itself. He paired us with a car matching our desires as not to up or undersell. The car exceeded my expectations but reminded him there was no chance of a purchase today. He however discussed a unique opportunity and showed how the numbers in fact would work for us to my surprise. The process went smoothly including when the delightful financial manager Joe discussed all the fine details including our trade. They priced the car well and met us on our trade to our satisfaction and delight. We came back Monday to pick up the car and were warmly welcomed by the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and felt like a family who enjoyed each others company. Andrea helped us understand all the paperwork before signing and was an exceptional young personable woman who was truly as excited for our purchase as we were. The service manager John personally made sure all issues and concerns were resolved. We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Lovering and joining the Volvo family and highly recommend to our friends and family that you consider them for your next car if a Volvo is the right fit for you.
