Facts, not opinion: First, had them do minor work on a bike and never heard from them because they didnt enter my phone number correctly into their computer. Bike was done for days without me knowing it. Then I took two bikes in to have a old group moved from bike 1 to bike 2 and a new group installed, cabled and shifting dialed-in on bike 1. Was not told they intentionally cross the down-tube cables. Ive used many bike shops and this is not a normal way of cabling and customers should be informed. When I said this, the reason was explained and I was told no one had ever noticed before. I asked for it to be re-cabled the traditional way and it was done. Other problems included one bike that was "finished" with a mis-aligned front brake pad that squeeled (heel of pad above brake track) and with poorly-wrapped bar tape (overlapped by less than one-quarter inch in places and by half the width in others). Another bike was "finished" with clear sounds that rear derailleur indexing was not set after being re-cabled although this was requested. When I brought one bike back two mechanics said to each other, "Who worked on this bike?" and one said, "Not me." No one says that when a job is done correctly.

The best bike shop in the area. Everyone who works there is excited about bikes and they support cyclists whether experienced or beginners. The selection is wide from comfort bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes, kids bikes... they have clothes, shoes, tools, gloves, socks, bike packs etc... pretty much anything you need to cycle, they have it. When I purchased my mountain bike and my first high end road bike I went there. They fit me for the bike and adjusted the handlebars so that I felt really comfortable. I got to try different shoes to see which ones I liked best and I was promised that if over the following weeks after I got my bike if there were any problems with comfort they would make it right - and in the rare case that they could not I could trade the bike in and get something different. And they cant return the bike if I did that. They would have to keep it in their inventory so that offer was an expensive one to make but it shows how dedicated they are to their customers and to biking. I cannot stress enough how cool this place is.

Great bike shop very fair with prices and service. I have used them twice for repairs both times I was expecting higher bills but to my surprise they were very reasonable. I was in the other day with a bike I picked up on Craigslist that had a loose sprocket and a cross threaded nut that I could not break free. I was expecting to need a new sprocket as well as waiting a while for the repair. Instead the owner took it right back and within 20 minutes it was fixed and tuned up! This time I was so happy with the results and the price that I bought a water bottle and mount just to spend a little more as a thank you! I will be heading back this week with a 1968 Sears Spyder that I am adding white walls to and it will be getting the usual tune up! I highly recommend Gung Ho Bikes!

I have nothing but great things to say about these guys! Ive bought two bike from them so far. I have no reason to go anywhere else! Lifetime tuneups! Yes please! I took my mountain bike in to them 6 months after I bought it to get a horrific creaking noise checked out. They took it out for a spin, figured out what was causing the noise, fixed it while I waited, and didnt charge me a dime! Sweet! For buying my road bike, they really went above and beyond! I rode a couple different bikes around for about an hour before I found one that I was comfortable with. They even changed stems to make it more comfortable for me! I recommend them to anyone! Beginner or expert.

Upon entering the shop was greeted by the owner and staff. Greeting the customer when they walk into the shop is usually an over looked feature of customer service shops over look. I was then not over whelmed by sales but was given space to go about the store and inquire about various merchandise. I was very pleased at the knowledgeable staff and how quick they were about helping me. I will continue to bring my bike there and get more knowledge about future bike riding opportunities and adventures. P.S. Their mountain bike display is amazing and the amount of creative touches the shop has is really cool and modern.

Great little local bike shop, they host group rides at the parks in the area. Overall Gung Ho has a decent selection of Specialized bikes and accessories, and some Giant bikes too. Prices are usually standard full retail without any flexibility, so you need to supplement your hobby with some online buying if you are trying to work within a middle class budget. They seem to do really well, with the shop often being able to take elaborate adventure vacations that they post pictures of online, good to see that they have done so well with the community support, and great to see they actually ride too!

I really appreciated how the Guys at the shop were able to find a part for my rear derailleur and help me save some money on a repair. During my repair I did decide to make a change to my setup and they helped me make decisions that were quality components without compromise. I have visited other shops locally and while they gave me attention, I felt like I was being served by a friend at Gung Ho. That attention to customer service is why I will encourage all I come in contact with to buy and have their bikes serviced at Gung Ho! Great job and thanks for all your help.

Getting into biking as an adult, I had many questions, which everyone from the staff from Gung Ho was able to answer. They were not the pushy salesperson trying to sell you anything. It took me 3 weeks to research and decide which bike fits me. I looked at other bike shops and they just dont compare to Gung Ho. Great prices also compared to others. Good selection of all types of bikes. Great looking store as well. Definitely the #1 cycle shop in York, which there isnt very many to compete with.

Fabulous service and an excellent selection of bikes. These guys went out of their way for me. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient - able to juggle several customers at once. After trying to find what I needed locally, I made several phone calls - Gung Ho was the only one who had stock. They made my 100+ mile drive to York worth my time! When its time for new bikes again well definitely be back.

Great bike purchasing experience at Gung Ho. I havent purchased a bike in over 20 years. They helped me find the right bike for my needs. Purchased a Specialized Sirrus hybrid/commuter bike to ride on the road and rail trail. Beautiful bike. Love it. Good value, good people, good quality at Gung Ho!

I spoke to Sarah on the phone inquiring about a specific bike. The bike was not yet available, but Sarah went out of her way to answer all my questions and she even called the manufacturer for more information as it was next years model bike. Very helpful - I will do business here in the future!
