After spending over $600 for work on my bike, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. The first time I brought my bike in was for a tune-up. At $80 I thought it was a bit steep, but I assumed it would be worth it. They convinced me that I needed a new rear cassette and with getting a new cassette, I needed a new chain. So after spending around $200 (I know! It sure adds up quickly!), I got my bike back and was told that I needed to get my front and rear suspension rebuilt. It would cost $300 and take 2 weeks. I rode it once and then dropped it off to get the suspension fixed. When I dropped it off, they upped their estimate to $350. It ended up costing $395 and it took 4 weeks (twice the time they estimated and nearly $100 more). I didn’t complain. Now, after spending nearly $600 and them having my bike for over a month (combining the tune-up and suspension repair), I finally take my bike out for a ride. After driving 40 minutes out to go biking, the rear brakes barely work. They had worked just fine before I brought my bike in to get the suspension fix (and had been ridden 1 time since they gave it a tune-up). I am enraged. After completing my ride using only my front brake, I brought it back in to have them fix my brakes. When I returned my bike, I didnt even get an apology for being given a bike without a functioning rear brake. Looking at my brakes, they said that they could try bleeding them and see if that works. They called me later and said that I would need new brake pads soon and if I would like to buy them. I said yes. So when I head back to get my bike, I am given a receipt that includes a $40 charge for their brake bleed. It had the $50 I expected for new brake pads, but at no point did they ever say I would be charged for the brake bleed. I assumed that they were going to fix a problem that they had caused free of charge. Especially because I had already given them $600 for maintenance (to include a tune up). Instead, after talking with the manager, he finally gave me half off for the brake bleed maintenance. I still paid $20 for a problem that only began immediately after their work was finished. I also took my bike out for the 3rd time since getting the suspension fixed (4th time since the tune-up), and my gears kept skipping back and forth. In other words the rear derailleur already needed to be adjusted since the tune-up. And because of the poorly adjusted rear derailleur, my practically new chain broke. That $200 tune-up with a new cassette and chain was absolutely not worth it. I realize this is an incredible long review, so I would like to summarize it. 1. Bike Doctor grossly underestimated my suspension repair, saying it would be nearly $100 cheaper than it actually cost and would be done in half the time it actually took. 2. Bike Doctor gave me a bike that with over a month of work costing $600, the rear brakes were not operational. 3. Bike Doctor made me pay to fix a problem that they caused. 4. Bike Doctor’s overpriced tune-up is not effective. They have a great selection of bikes and parts, but I would not recommend them for maintenance. I have taken my business to another bike shop that is not nearly as conveniently located, but well worth the extra time.

Im from out of town, here on business. Just stopped by to kill some time on a Sunday. I was immediately greeted by the staff, and spent at least a half an hour just chatting with the manager. Even though I obviously wasnt going to purchase anything today, I was treated like a loyal, long time customer! Great experience, wonderful shop, top- notch bikes & gear. This would be my bike shop if I lived in Baltimore!

After shopping two of the large retail stores for a bike, I met the staff at Bike Doctor and decided to buy from them, twice. I recently brought one of the bikes in for a service which required some special attention. Dan and his staff showed great concern in the matter and handled the repairs in a very professional and timely manner. This shop is a great asset to the local cycling community!

I originally had some concerns surrounding some follow up repairs. However, management contacted me, explained the situation, and has since repaired my bike. I sincerely appreciate their concern and for reaching out to me. It is a very nice shop, with very friendly, knowledgeable associates.

By far, the best shop in the area. Friendly staff always greets me as soon as I walk in. They have a good selection of bikes and superior knowledge of the products. In this day and age of Internet business, its nice to know that there is a good local shop to go to and get world class service

Fantastic service, fair prices, and in-house expertise that meets even the expectations of an avid racer. On top of all that, they do a lot of fantastic work in the community helping kids get on bikes and are all around, truly genuine and caring people.

I was a bit disappointed at the quality of work but I believe it was the Technicians fault. Not The company as a whole. The CEO personally contacted me and offered to repair my bike; tune it, and wash it free of charge. Thanks Bike Doctor!

This shop exceeded my expectations. I went in to get a few adjustments and left with a bike that shifted like a charm. Brake adjust and cleanup were the icing on the cake.

Very helpful bike shop. They got me a very nice bike at an insanely good price. They even helped with a warranty issue with my old bike. Highly recommended.

They have decent prices, but their staff did not have the level of expertise I would have expected from a store that only sells bikes.
