Wal-mart prices for prescriptions drugs are cheaper for most prescriptions I have always gone to CVS for my prescriptions for as long as I can remember. When a new Wal-mart opened up, I was told by several people to go there because its cheaper. I just wanted to stay where I was at, but I shouldve listened...... I purchased prescription eye drops (steriods) from CVS. I didnt have my insurance card, so I just purchased them for $84.99. This was my mistake. I commented on the price to the cashier, and she asked if I still wanted them. I told her that I better take them, but if I didnt use them that I would bring them back. She made absolutely no comment to that and just took my money. My husband called the same day and asked if we could just bring the insurance card to the pharmacy and be reimbursed for what it covers. They said we could do that and then directed my husband to the receipt which reads "Returns accepted thru 01/09/2010. I figured that I would go get the return for all of my money if I ended up not needing them. So, I let it go for a while and didnt use them. I didnt even open the bag, it still in the condition I got it from them, stapled close with the receipt. When I tried to return it they said it was federal law prohibiting the return of prescriptions. I explained that is what I told the cashier that I intended on doing when she rang me up, and that it states on the receipt I can return it through that date. The woman I talked with stated she didnt know why the receipt said that or why I wasnt informed. She said they just assume everyone knows. I explained that I have returned prescriptions before when theyve given me generic instead of brand name (my doctor insists I need brand name). She stated that was a special exception. I asked if there were signs up stating this federal law, and she said she didnt think so. Its my own fault I didnt return it sooner, but it is really shady that I was not informed of this when I purchased it, especially when I said I would return it if I didnt use it and they didnt say anything to the contrary, that I couldnt do that. My receipt states I can return through that date, in which they wont let me. Also, there are not any signs up at the pharmacy letting their customers know about this. There isnt even anything on the packaging, bag, or receipt stating that it cant be returned. This is a very shady practice. One woman commented this is a very friendly place, which isnt always true, it really depends on who you get. The woman I spoke with was nice, she just didnt know a lot about what to do or say about it. But, I was in a few years ago to pick up prenatal vitamins with a prescription I got in pregnancy packet from my doctor. Well, he didnt sign the prescription and I didnt notice when I took it in. The woman started SCREAMING at me, making me cry, and causing a big scene. When she handed it to the pharmacist, even he looked embarrassed and told her just to call up my doctor and confirm it. She did just that, and I got the prescription. I wonder what she was so worked up about, maybe she thought I was running some kind of prenatal vitamin scam or something. Everything may work out with the pharmacy for the most part, but if you ever have a problem or concern, or your doctor forgets to sign the prescription, forget about it. Its not worth it. Besides, you can go elsewhere for less.

For some reason I have stuck with this cvs for years, mostly bc of location. They by far have some of the worst service Ive ever had to deal with. They take way to long to fill prescriptions and have some very rude employees. On multiple occasions I have dropped of a script, then came back two days later and it still had not been filled. Then the employees act as if its not anyones fault but yours.
