Its funny, because everyone gives this place bad reviews, except someone who OBVIOUSLY works there. the review written by "Lori" is worded as if it were a yellow pages add, not a review, obviously a set up review. In all actuality the place is mediocre at best. They do have many animals that are cool to look at, but not for sale, and they they keep these animals in filth all the time. 80% of the time I go in there, the whole store smells like some sort of crap, not sure what species but poop is poop... Anyone who is keeping fish should be knowledgeable of what will happen when you buy from this store, every fish will have ich... but if you really know what your doing with fish, you dont put your fish directly in your show tank anyway, you put them in a quarantine tank and treat them for ich and other parasites BEFORE you put them in your tank... thats fish keeping 101 so you all are crying about something that is your own fault... about 75% of all fish in the fish trade have ich, because ich is to fish what influenza is to humans, it happens when they get stressed, and this crappy store definitely stresses fish out. But at the same time they do have plenty of supplies that you would need, they just need to learn how to take care of their animals, and stop hiring people who dont care... and yes their staff can be very vulgar and rude, but that is almost anywhere you go anymore.

I bought a ferret there yesterday thinking he would be nice and playful. WRONG! dont get me wrong, he was fine at the store but I took him home and set up his cage. He wouldnt even let me get him out of the box to put him in the cage. So I had my boyfriend try and he bit him and drew blood! I tried all day today from the time I woke at 9 am to try and get him out but first thing he does is bites me. Not a nibble a straight up bite and ripped some of my skin off. Then I was finally able to get him out and he bit my cat!! The store will NOT let me bring him back and get my money back.. instead they said I could bring him back and exchange him for a different one. HELL NO! I dont want another one and I dont want him! I know ferrets nibble, but he bites! Im very pissed off at the fact that I cant return him and get my money back. I did not ask for an aggressive animal! And then they had the nerve to say that ferrets dont really get along with other animals and thats why he bit my cat! I will never buy another animal from this place again!

I was looking for a kitten, happened to go in and see the most beautiful one. Was at the register ready to sign the paperwork and my husband was holding him and I noticed it was coated in fleas. Now we had played and pet him for a bit before we decided. The girl was just going to "spray him" and we could come back later. We changed our minds and didnt go back. We instead went to a shelter and found our perfect fit. I have to agree, there should be a better way to care for the pups in the shelter. I cant imagine the smell of the puppy room is all that good and the poor little guys are rolling in their own waste. Such a shame! Now I do go there for my pet supplies, its much more convenient for us in that respect. I havent had any issues with service at all, I know exactly who to ask if I have questions and if shes not there, Ill go to Pet Smart.

This place is so terrible. I had gotten. An animal from there and it ended up being really sick and I had to buy special expensive medication for him to get better. When I walked in there the animals had moldy food, the reptiles had fungus and had to check which ones were sick and they just put then back in the tanks because they didnt know what they were looking for. They had too many animals crammed Into one tank. I am disgusted with this pet store. They have a little sweet monkey in there too.... Moldy food, no fresh food dirty water and super thin. I wanted to cry, no animal should have to be treated like that. I would love if theyd get shut down and give those animals to a reliable good care giving place.

Personally, I love this pet store (its one of my favorites) The animals are all VERY well taken care of, and its run by a husband and wife who are very sweet. a lot of people are complaining about animals not having any food.. but I know for a fact that most of the animals are fed twice daily, and often, the food bowls are empty, simply because the animals already ate?? They have a GREAT selection of items. Ive gotten tons of animals from them, and Ive never had an issue. They cant necessarily help the small percentage of animals that come into their store already sick.. but they do everything they can to help them! They have a little back section with some really cute animals, which is really neat!

If I could figure out how to give no stars I would. This place is so horrible! Those poor animals. The condition of animals is so bad. There was a dead gecko and another that Im sure was on its way there. The boa was so thin and skin on bone. The chameleons were the same condition as the boa. We got 4 feeder rats, We couldnt see them till we got home. All 4 the wrong size and starving and so underweight. One went into labor and was bleeding. I know theyre just feeders, but they deserve to be taken care of properly as well. This is criminal behavior and they deserve not only to be shut down but to suffer the same consequences they are making their animals endure!

This place should be shut down for animal cruelty. Ive seen dead and dieing reptiles in the aquariums. The reptile care is atrocious. Every aquarium, for each different species, is substrated with sand and has a water bowl, thats it. Anyone who knows anything about reptiles would be sickened by the aquarium habitat. Ive purchased feeder mice there. They had pneumonia, were emaciated and had bite marks and sores on them. They closed off the monkey and lemar room because of the complaints of terrible care they were giving them......the complaints are warranted. Again this place should be fined for animal cruelty and shut down.

I love Pet World. After reading all these bad revews i felt pretty upset. Yes, at times depending on the time of day the animal need more water or a cage got dirty. Have you ever taken notice for example the guinea pigs... if you notice they always have a good number of beautiful one all in the same large cage, so yes with a larger number means that the water will get lower very quick and the cage will get dirty fast. Everything is taken care of daily. Also, how many "everyday" pet stores do you go in that have a monkey, lemours and aligators? Very little, if any.. Pet World is a great and relible place to get your pets.
