Last month I decided it was time for an upgrade to my patio door. I went to my local Home Depot and had one of their "Pros" come out to measure my door. Well, he came out and told me that my door needed to be custom made because the size of my entry was not standard. He seemed like he knew what he was saying so I decided to follow his advice. Well, it just so happened that I was getting windows installed by HD later on that week and one of their other contractors also measured my door. He then went on to tell me that my entry was in fact a standard entry and there was no need for a custom door. The custom size door HD had me purchase was a quarter of an inch smaller than a standard door. The difference in price, $630. I returned to HD and tried to explain to them what their contractors told me and I was told that although it was thier contractor that told me it was a standard size, that I would have to stick with the custom door because they already ordered it. Now I would understand if I were the reason for the error, but it was their contractors who have conflicting measurements. Not only will they not allow me to return the door, but the door hasnt even arrived to the store and I keep recieving phone calls saying that the door will be available for pick up on March 20th. It is now March 31st and the door has still not arrived. Ive spent over 10k at Home Depot in the last month, but after this fiasco I will be taking my business to Lowes up the block from them.

This has to be one of the most helpful Home Depots Ive ever shopped in. I always shopped at the Home Depot on 23rd street in Manhattan at the one in Whitestone area in the Bronx and employees avoid you like the plague. If you make eye contact with them, they pretend they didnt see you so you dont ask for help. This Home Depot is very different. I often come to these places confused and I guess the employees pick up on that because they are always there to assist. They not only tell you were you can find what youre looking for but they will go with you and offer suggestions and advice on your project. The helpfulness is so over the top that I once got help from a vendor dropping some merchandise off in gardening. I stopped him thinking he might be an employee and asked help finding some things. He replied he was not an employee (he was a vendor) but was familiar with the store. He guided me to the aisle I was looking and helped me pick out the things I needed for my project. Ill never go to another Home Depot in the city again (if I can avoid it), this one opened my eyes.

I have been a Home depot customer for 20yrs. In early December my clothes washer died so I went here to buy a new washer and dryer. I went on a Tuesday and was promised the machines that Saturday. Well 3 weeks later after numerous conversations with the corporate office in Atlanta Georgia I received my machines. Now when my washer was installed I noticed a dent in the front. Well I accepted the machines and was promised a total of $450.00 for the damage and for the delay. Sounds great doesnt it? Ha, well Home depot has given me to date $0. Samsung was to give me some money and Home depot was supposed to give me the remaining. I received$175.00 from Samsung and when trying to collect the remaining money I was told that Samsung was supposed to give me$100.00 more than they gave me. WOW. Its now January 6th and Im still waiting for Home depot to resolve this issue. I will now shred my Home depot credit card and become a loyal Lowes customer..

Customer service for incoming calls is nearly none existent. I had ordered an item on line to be delivered to the Stroudsburg Pa store. I called the store to verify that it was in. (FedEx tracking informed delivery 24 hours ago) After being on hold for 8 min. somebody answered then put me on hold to transfer me and put me on hold until it reached 18 min. then told me they didnt receive it yet. I told them FedEx tracking shows it was delivered to your store yesterday around 1 pm 24 hours ago. was put on hold again. At the 29 min. mark they told me they did receive it and it will be at the service desk. Total call time was 29 min. 15 seconds. This amount of time is just pathetic at best.

Went to store in Stroudsburg to buy 5 tons of wood pellets. Was tole by the manager that Home Depot does NOT give the 10% off for veterans anymore. Only vets that are retired from military og have a service connected injury. In other words, a vet that survived without and injury does not quailify for the 10% discount. If a vet has been shot but not disabled or for that matter has won the Medal of Honor he or she still doesnt qualify for the 10%. Went to Lowes and they were more than happy to give the 10% discount. Also I plan on discussing this matter with the local VFW and American Legion Posts. I will never set foot in Home Depot again. Vets are not second class citizens.

I like Home Depot better than any other store, you buy anything and if you need to return it they will not give a hassle. I always buy my plants at Home Depot, so one day I decided to go to lowes, my perennial plants died I when I went to return them, they asked me for a receipt of a year ago, I said you got to be kidding you are supposed to save it. So I told them first and last time Ill buy anything in that store just imagine if it was a big item. Since then I wont shop anyway if its not Home deport. All my garden is from them. Thank you Home depot

Would not honor price mach! I had needed some pex supports that were .98$ each at lowes and bc lowes had no more i had to go to home depot. I found the product and it cost 2.88$ each! More than dubble the price! When I showed the lowes receipt to the cashier she said she couldnt honor it bc it wasnt the same thing, are you freaking crazy it was the same thing! After asking for a manager the manager only wanted to give me .22$ off. Are you kiding me i just caught you over charging for a product! Most of the stuff is over priced at this place anyways

pretty good staff and helpful for the most part. not the greatest selection of stock compared to other home depot stores. the nursery can certainly bring more effort and when other stores have a 50% off sale for plants and trees every year...this store only has 25% which is disturbing. Still, this store absolutely blows away the NYC locations when it comes to the staff. I am familiar with most of the workers there and a few times they have been a big help.

First of all the complete store is inadequately illuminated. You could actually be aware of the dust as you breath in some of the aisles. Difficult to get some one in the plumbing and electrical department, in total this Home Depot store needs to upgrade to Lowes standard where I will continue doing my shopping. Until Home Depot improves to great, Not just standard.
