This store used to be my go to pet shop. Some of the employees, including the girl with red hair, the girl with the long dark brown hair, and a few other who seem to not be there anymore were the nicest, most knowledgeable people there. Those girls where the reason that made me come back every time. However, seeing the store with new management, it all has gone to crap. The store is dirty. I can never find or read the pricing on products. Im never greeted at the entrance of the store anymore. The worst part is the manager. She is extremely rude to not only the customers, but to also her employees. On multiple occasions she has yell and argue with employees in front of customers with children. Ive seen her say horrible things to one of her poor, sweet register girls, who seems to be the only smart one there. This manager doesnt seem to know or understand how to run a store. Dont get me started with the animals. The kennel is way too over crowded. They are jamming in probably around 30 dogs and 15 cats. The cats are all in one room together. Plus, I bet they are still housing more in the back. Do the owners only care about profit? What happened to caring for the well-being of these animals? These animals were already in high kill shelters. This is just more added on torture. Plus, the poor kennel girls are struggling back there trying to keep up. I bet those girls dont get paid enough for how much they do. I really hope the girls I used to see there were smart enough to quit from this place. I would never want to deal with the stress their job might have had. Also, Ill have you know that Ive already started shopping down at the Pet Valu store. Although they didnt carry my dog and cats verus food, I switched it to their brand that was recommend by them. Ive already seen better and healthier results. At least there they have a clean store with a knowledgeable staff that was trained right, and a manager who knows how to run a business. Lastly, dont respond to this review with your generic computer generated apology. This store has been getting worse and worse for months. Nothing has changed for the better. I hope this store, or even this company for that matter, gets shut down. You say your trying to help save animals while teaching customers nutrition for their pets, yet your animals are living in filth and your management is brain dead. Never shopping here again and will spread the word out to others.

Ok so let me correct my service when I got there my service was absoultly horrid!!! I asked to see a puppy that my husband and I were there 3 days in a row to look at and the young "lady" who I asked was extremely rude! She told me I could not see one of the dogs we had asked to see as it was not vet checked; ok I understand I use to work there I know the drill. However I asked her if I could see another dog and she very rudely told me I had to wait and walked away. We waited for ten minutes and she never came back but we watched her bulls**tting with another employee in the fish area on top of my husband hearing her talk about me. Ok so maybe I was a little rude with her but only after the way she acted! So one of their other employees came up to me who had seen us there before and asked if we were back to look at the puppy again and she nicely brought the puppy out and let us play with her again and we ended up buying the dog from this wonderful women, Tina, I believe was her name. The manager was really decent as well at the registered. I can say this everyone has their own opinions of buyign from a a pet store; I have personally owned dogs from a pet store, private breeder, and a SPCA. I have had my issues with each of them and as long as you do your research and know what you are getting into you are safe. Do these dogs come from "puppy mills" not in my opinion maybe their "breeders" dont have the best practices but they are far from puppy mills. However my suggestion is to Pets Plus management to get rid of that young girl that is your problem and why no one wants to come in and do business here. They are nasty, rude and quite frankly dont know enough about the breeds or what they should be selling with their dogs in my opinon besides the basics. Definetly a big change from when I worked there before.

I will say this the workers were friendly and helped us and showed us everything we wanted with good attitudes. What I cant stand is there is no Guarantee on any of the reptiles, this is because I found out usually they come with problems. I know certain reptiles has its issues. But the reptile I did buy I felt bad for him because number one he didnt have proper light. Number two his cage was dirty and stake. His water dish was stained from water cause it was never cleaned washed or anything. Also thats why no one else wanted him because he has an R.I (respiratory Infection) thus is why we took him because he is friendly as well as loved and will be brought back to health hopefully depending on how sever the infection is. Because sometimes even with vet treatment it can be fatal. He seems to be doing good with my treatments I am giving him hoping he doesnt have to go to the vet which I will know in another 2 days. Though how can you run a business with people spending there hard earned money on reptiles and things and there is no Guarantee and the animal could die the same week let alone next day or etc. At least there are Guarantees from other pet stores regarding animal sickness, vet bills and etc. Thats ok though I may make you profit by spending my money there but thats OK cause at least I will have a loving pet as well as rescuing them. Plus I will have supporting documents that will show evidence. That is all I will say have a nice day.

I have no doubt whatsoever that Pets Plus is writing these rave reviews. Whenever someone says they bought a particular breed puppy at Pets Plus, I advise them to get a DNA test on the puppy. The last time I went in, I told a store employee that the "Chihuahua" was NOT a Chihuahua, the employee argued until he realized I know the specifics of the breed. Then he just walked away. Although healthy in appearance, the dog was clearly a mixed breed of Jack Russell, Dachshund and whatever else. I dont have a problem with healthy, mixed breed dogs, but I do have a problem when dogs are sold as purebred at purebred price. Time after time, mixed breeds are being sold either as purebreds or as the "designer breeds" such as a Jack Russell and Pug ... which they call a "Jug." Thats okay if it IS a Jug, but DNA tests are proving time and time again that the dog has no Pug in it whatsoever. Or that it has no Jack Russell. The tests will show traces of numerous breeds. Customers are being scammed by thinking they are buying a two-breed dog, when in fact, it is a Heinz 57 variety. Again, I have no problem with mutts ... most are awesome pets. But Pets Plus sells adorable mongrels at purebred or "designer bred" prices. Employees know this and some will freely admit it ... but they need their job. Buyer beware.
