Very poor management. As you see below, this place appears only to be good for tires, not service or maintenance. And I hesitate to even give them that much. Hopefully they wont thread the studs on your wheels when they install the new tires (which has happened at another PepBoys location). Work order was not handled in an organized fashion at all. We had to be more proactive than should be necessary by initiating calls several times through out the day to check on the status of our car and push the work through. First time, the car wasnt worked on yet (which is fine). Second time we called (approx. 10:30am), the "assessment" had apparently already taken place and so we requested that the part go ahead and be ordered. Then, 4.5hrs later, we had to call again to check the status (note that this was a 1hr job, so were not sure of the part had arrived yet). We were then told that they need "authorization to order" the part (which we had already given). At this point, they finally placed the order (remember, we put in the initiative to call this third time) and as a result, the order would not arrive until the next day. They finally installed the part, which turned out to be defective. Something they didnt tell us about, but thankfully we decided to check the car *first* before leaving. After letting them know, they realized they had to reorder the part and now were still waiting for a replacement. We need this car for daily commute, and as a result of poor service, the car was out of unnecessarily out of our hands for an extra day. We also still have to plan for yet another day to revisit so they can install a WORKING part.

Took my car in for PA state inspection. After the work was completed, I noticed a noise developing in the drivers side wheel. (This was less than a day later.) Pulled over to check it out, and none of my lugnuts were properly tightened. While retightening them, one of my studs snapped off. I returned to the store and spoke with Justin (credit to him for dealing with an angry customer and making every effort to TRY to fix things) and was told that Id need to come in the next morning to get a replacement stud, because the ones they had in stock were "on the truck." While Justin took my situation seriously, apparrently the manager didnt care that the original technicians incompetent work, or that I rely on my vehicle to get to work in the morning. I will never allow another technician from this shop to lay a finger on my car...unless I get it in writing that Justin is the one working on my vehicle, and I check on the work myself before they roll it out of the bay. I understand that its the end of the work day, but someone should have been able to resolve this issue. Instead I have to put my own car back together thanks to the incompetence of the technician who worked on my vehicle.

DO NOT get your car repaired here. Your life may depend on it. This location used to be OK many years ago, but in the last 3-5 years it has gone down the toilet. I completely agree with "nontheist" about the experience of having to constantly babysit them to make sure they are doing anything. I wonder if I were to leave a car there, and not call to check on them, if it would actually sit there forever. - I had tires installed that I had to go back for rebalancing because one was way off. - I took a minivan in for a check engine light, was told by Pep Boys there was nothing wrong, and later that week after noticing a strong gasoline odor, took it to a dealer mechanic and was informed that PB didnt put the gas tank back together correctly -- and by the way, there was something very simple wrong for the CE light that they should have seen immediately. - I had brakes installed, then AS I DROVE AWAY they front left disc brake assembly FELL APART all over Germantown Pike. (when I returned to the store, the desk clerk muttered under their breath, "what else is new around here.") Never been back there since. This place should be shut down by the DOT for dangerous and shoddy workmanship.

Marcia at the customer service desk needs to be fired. The attitude I received from this woman was unbelievable. I went in for a straightforward tire repair, as I had a nail stuck in my tire. I just wanted to inquire about what the failure criteria was in terms of rejecting a tire repair service to a customer based on the condition of the tire. Instead of a response to my question I was given an attitude that was synonymous to telling me to shut the hell up and go away. Not only this, but she then proceeded to talk down to me as if I was a child who knew nothing. Professionalism is incredibly lacking with this employee. Ive been here a few times before and though the service never takes the amount of time that you are quoted, at least the employees Ive dealt with were courteous and expressed some sort of sympathy for my wait. Marcia lacked professionalism, courtesy, and simple customer service skills. Some education for this employee would be recommended.

Never even made it into this place before I was immediately turned off. I made an appointment online for 9:00am because I saw an advertisement on their website for free ac check/diagnostic, I requested to have someone call me so I can get the details on how long the check would take so I can determine if I want to wait or not. 8:35 am rolls around and still no phone call, so I called them and was told that it wasnt free and that they only turn it on top see if cool air will blow out. Smh what in the holy hell is that I can turn on my own ac to see that it isnt working. I go back and forth with this extremely rude guy and when I requested to speak to a manager he hangs up on me. Im completely turned off from the entire pep boys franchise, seems like no matter which one you go to theres always going to be unprofessional and do a half a$$ job. Wish I could give them negative stars.

My car developed serious power steering problems. I took it in for service on a very busy Saturday morning. Chris, the service manager, was very helpful and honest.Because of the volume of repairs already slated for that day, and because parts had to be ordered, I didnt expect my car to be finished until Monday evening. After the initial check, Chris phoned me to talk about the problem. Not only did he explain the problem in "common folk" vernacular, but he willingly entertained all my questions with patience and concern. Fortunately, the work was completed late that evening and I picked my car up the next morning. It works great! Thank you to the knowledgeable repair technicians that helped me this weekend and Chris, in my book, you ARE Mr. Pep Boy! Manny, Moe, and Jack can be proud of you and your team! Thank you again!

Absolute WORST service. Stopped in to get a cabin filter. Kid at the desk kept saying something, mumbling under his breath. Had to ask 3 times for him to repeat himself because he was mumbling. Finally pointed me in the direction of the filters. Grabbed what I needed, headed back, went to pay and showed a coupon I was sent that expires 5/31/15. Kid claims coupon didnt work, tried again, took my phone number. He asks had it been used already. No I tell him. He says he cant do anything. For $2.50 he cant call the manager? He didnt even offer. Waste of time. Take your business elsewhere. I wasnt asking for anything crazy, merely using my 10% off coupon which they couldnt grant. Pathetic Pep Boys. First you sold me the wrong windshield wipers, now this. There will be no 3rd time. Learned my lesson.
