Not the best shopping experience Ive had. The toothbrush I wanted to buy was hung on the wrong hook, so when I got up to the cash register I was surprised to see that the toothbrush that I thought was $1.50 was actually $4.00. (Unlike stores such as CVS, many Dollar Generals do not have scanners, so if something is unmarked, you have to hunt down an employee to find the price.) I told the cashier to take it off my bill. Not my fault that the store was disorganized. Also, when I asked the cashier whether the "spend $5 get $5" back applied to my purchase, she said yes. However, on the receipt, instead of getting a $5 off coupon, it was a $5 off when you spend $25. Not the same thing that was advertised at all. A bit of false advertising, and this is what bothered me the most. I received an email saying that I would receive $5 off when I spend $5 at participating locations. If this store was not participating, all they needed to do was be honest and tell me. I am thinking about returning all my merchandise and asking for a complete refund. I really do not want to give any of my money to a store that is not being honest to consumers. After I return the merchandise, I will not be going back.
