Pull a number from the machine while you are shopping if you are going to have fabric cut. Dont wait until you have finished shopping, or you will be standing and waiting at the counter for a long time. Since Joanns is pretty much the only fabric and sewing store in the area, the selection is limited to what they offer, which is often not what I am looking for. They have lots of fabric for quilters, crafters, families with small children, and some upholstery selections. I have not found more upscale fabrics that can be used for the reason I spend the time sewing: quality clothing. It would also be helpful to find patterns there for clothing for fall and winter, not just spring and summer. They do have some cute patterns for girls and their dolls, but not so much for boys. The notions and craft stock are plentiful, and I can usually find someone to advise me if I have a question. The all important parking is free.

I brave the total insanity of Seven Corners once every couple months to visit this store; theres definitely a dearth of decent fabric/craft stores in the DC metro area! This Jo-Anns is reasonably sized and has a decent selection of fabric and other materials, just stay far, far away around Halloween and Christmas, when the store is a total frenzy of crazed crafters - long checkout lines, disorganized mountains of fabric, anarchy at the cutting station, etc. Otherwise, I think the store offers pretty reasonable prices and selection - you can almost always find a 1/2 off coupon on the Jo-Ann website (sign up for the app!). And, if you cant find what you need - hop next door to Michaels.

This store is always understaffed whenever I go. There are always people waiting to get fabric cut, and one time I went there was no one at that station and people complaining. There is also a limited selection of products here, and its difficult to find what you need quickly since there are almost no signs and no staff to help. The prices are also somewhat high for what I would expect. Stop by just to get a couple of essentials, but avoid this place if you can.

Why do they not have restrooms for customers? I cant bring my young child if she cant go to the bathroom quickly. When Im on my own, I have to go to Michaels next door to use the restroom. Now I only go here if G Street doesnt have what I need for a decent price. (G Street has restrooms conveniently located at both ends of the store, but does tend to be more expensive and has fewer sales.) What a great way to lose customers who have young children, Joanns!

I wish I could give them 0 star for their worst customer service I bought a fabric and it was on clearance.I told the lady that I need to go home and measure it first then she said I can return it anytime,so I bought it. came back to store to return it and they refused to do that.the store manager said that is the policy and it doesnt matter that their employee made the mistake. I even called their customer service and they didnt do anything helpful

Increasingly disappointed with my experience with this store. How is it that a fabric shop doesnt have anyone working there that knows anything about sewing? Today not one person knew what a button hole cutter was or where I could find one or was willing to find out. Cant get other basic information to make informed purchases either. No wonder so many people opt to buy online... Ill be doing the same from now on.

The sales associates were incredibly rude and acted like they were doing me a favor, as opposed to their job, when I bought a large quantity of fabric. Not to mention the floors and cloth racks were filthy. I dropped a bolt of fabric on the ground and it was coated in dust. They also were out of many of the home decorators fabrics. I ended up going to wood bridge which was clean and stocked.

I bought some nice, Italian-made (not Chineese-made), argent buttons--they look like real silver! I also found some good, clear plastic storage bins for sewing etcetera items. The negitive thing is that they only had but a few of the buttons in stock; I had to return a week or so later to complete my order, and the check-out line--one line--is very long and slow! R. They have what I need as a knitter and for my sewing needs. I am amazed by the negative comments. The customer service has always been terrific. But, customer service works both ways, and being understaff is not a staff issue, but rather a management issue. I have alway appreciated this store, for they have so much as I knit and sew.

I like Joann fabrics. Other locations always have staff to help you. Not this one: if you dont know where something is good luck. Never enough staff, but the ones that are working are usually kind. Im not saying dont shop at a joann fabrics, what I am saying is dont shop at this location. You will spend twice as long in the store.

The staff are super friendly and helpful and they have a great selection of fabric and patterns. The selection of other craft supplies isnt quite as good as other stores, but they primarily specialize in fabric, so its not surprising. They DO have some solid planner stuff, though. Small selection but what they have is awesome.

This was one of the most chaotic stores I have visited outside of the garment district. Despite the fact I was there on a rainy Wednesday evening, it looked like the vestiges of a dream warehouse sale. Slim picking on the stock and the shelves were trashed. Stuff was even on the floor. Never encountered an employee.

Incompetent rude staff. No one is ever watching the cashier and the staff rarely ever knows where to find an item. Classic example is several staff members had no idea what foam adhesive was and tried to sell me krylon low odor spray glue for paper and pvc. They are also very pricey! With 54" width fabrics.

Worst experience ever. Completely understaffed with truly incompetent help. Checkout line had only 2 cashiers... And over 40 people waiting to purchase. Fabric counter was manned by only 1 attendant who tried to upsell every customer. Will never ever come back. 10/2015

This is the only place in 10 miles to buy fabric in Northern Virginia. I miss G-street fabrics, but this spot has a pretty good selection and plenty of notions. Get there early though because it gets sooo busy in the afternoon.

Staff was very helpful in helping me find items and also retrieve them. Some aisles were a little narrow, but its a fabric store and thats pretty normal. Good selection of basic fabrics and some nice pop culture cotton prints!

Terrible customer service. Assistant didnt know where anything was. Very poorly staffed. On top of it all, their system went down and they wouldnt even let me complete the $3 purchase that I had.

They are great here. Most of the time everything is on sale or they have knowledgeable staff too. I needed marine fabric for my boat and it worked out great. It was 1/2 the price of everyone else.
