Stay away and report them! Dogs are sick and are from puppy mills despite what they actually tell you, do your research and dont fall for the cute puppy faces(I did mine too late)! They wont give you specifics on the dogs breeder, parents, etc until AFTER you purchase it (Normally for $1200 and up) and find out you have a sick dog from a puppy mill. They also dont properly quarantine the dogs to be sure they arent sick before putting them up for sale and have been shut down 3 times for selling sick dogs. Once you tell the staff they sold you a sick dog, theyre nasty and completely dismissive of the issues (they actually instructed me to return the dog because I wasnt happy with having massive vet bills after only owning the puppy for 1 week). The puppy I purchased was very sick with Giardia (GOOGLE IT!) and kennel cough (which infected our other pets resulting in more vet bills). Not only was she not healthy, her behavior over this past 1.5yrs has been appalling (To no fault of her own, lord only knows how many litters her mom had before her and the conditions she was kept in before ending up at the pet shop). Do yourself a favor, adopt a pet or find a reputable breeder that you can meet in person, see the conditions, the parents, etc. Put these idiots out of business by not buying their dogs.

Went to this store today to buy a puppy. The store was well stocked with a variety of puppies, mainly small breeds. The were placed in large pens on the floor. Customers walk through the store touching the animals without supervision as the staff congregate at the front of the store. Some of the puppies seemed lethargic and even ill. I know this because I purchased a puppy 3 years ago who was very ill at the time of purchase. The associate was helpful and friendly. However, the person who said they were manager was not at all professional in her manner. When I asked questions about purchasing a puppy she responded abruptly and insisted that in order to purchase a pup, I had to buy a bag of food. I wanted to purchase the puppy but the attitude of the manager of the store was so confrontational that I felt insulted and decided to leave. My family and I wanted to buy the dog and would have liked to have the helpful associate earn a nice commission. Working with customers requires a professional and friendly demeanor in order for transactions to happen.

This place is absolutely terrible DO NOT BUY ANY ANIMALS FROM HERE!! I recently bought a puppy from the Pet Shop in the Palmer Park Mall on July 4th. They make you buy food and all of this other nonsense after already spending over $1100 on the dog! I went back to the store yesterday to try and return the UNOPENED bag of food and the manager (same person who sold me the dog) refused to take the food back and argued with me for a good 10 minutes about why I cannot return the food. Long story short the first ingredient in the food is Chicken Meal TERRIBLE for dogs. Secondly the manager also tried to argue with me and tell me the dogs do not come from PUPPY MILLS when in fact they DO and both of the parents of my puppy arent even registered by the American Kennel Club, her paperwork says both parents are "pending". I will NEVER EVER support the puppy mills or a business like this again in my life. I love my puppy dearly but what a HUGE mistake to buy from the Pet Shop. PLEASE DONT!!!!! Adopt or seek out local breeders.

Reptiles look like they are kept appropriately, but small animals like mice, hamsters etc. Are kept in appallingly small cages for the ammount of animals they keep at once (and species like the Syrian or Teddy bear hamsters which remain solitary after reaching sexual maturity in the wild -- are kept together far too old, causing fights and open wounds ) its just not possible to keep a 10 gallon tank with 8 male hamsters clean so those open wounds get infected. Staff is sparse and not very knowledgeable on small animals/birds -- its stressful and unnecessary to keep 40 parakeets in a tank with clipped wings that anyone can reach into. That makes for birds that bite out of fear, not well socialized pets. Finally, some of the the dogs have obvious genetic conditions and are visibly sick as often as they are healthy and happy. And the store had two Bull Mastiffs labeled as Cane Corso, which I just found ridiculous.

Horrible experience, not for me but for my children. My family and I drove 2 hours to see a pup we were interested in and staff told us that the dog was already reserved until 5 we came back at 5:30 and they told us that the dog was still on hold, since the person who reserved it never came, waste of time. We called again 2 days later and they told us that the person never came for the dog. Great, we reserved the dog and were going to go pick him up. My children were happy, while we were getting ready they called us saying that somebody had taken the dog while on reserve. Smh. Bad experience for my kids, unfortunately they want nothing to do with pups any more.

A German Shepard puppy had all black gook in his ears and his ears were bright red. Another puppys nose was dry and felt like sandpaper. These dogs are puppy mill dogs. They overcharge and are not taken care of. Dont shop here go to your local shelter. This place is absolutely disgusting. If youre going to take in puppy mill dogs at least take care of them. No reason for thick black gook in a dogs ear to the point where they are severely infected. And your prices? $1,800 for a mixed breed dog? I can go to the shelter and get a puppy for $200 and he has all his shots and hes spayed or neutered. Go to your shelter! Shut this place down!

Oml so bad. They treat animals terribly. Puppies come from puppy mills and theres no connection to where they come from. NEVER BUY DOGS FROM HERE OR ANY PET STORE!!! Their poor parents spend their lives in cages and are never cared for. Adopt or find a responsible breeder. My two dogs are from responsible breeders and not only are they healthy, but happy too. Do your research! I at least have the clarity that my dogs parents are PETS, not CASH CROPS.

The selection of puppies is incredible and they are so happy and happy looking. Our family has purchased 11 puppies here and we will always. Only 1 puppy ever had a minor cold and they lowered all vet bills We love you The Pet Shop.

We have a friend who bought a puppy here 2 years ago and recommended we go there. We are so happy we did. We purchased a gorgeous lab there 6 months ago and she is the love of our life. Thank you all. You girls are the best

Adorable puppies, but lazy employees sitting on empty crates complaing about barking PUPPIES, who require attention, INSTEAD OF giving them some WHILE carrying on with their unworkrelated banter was a major turn off.
