Thank you! Thank you! Thank you Playful Pets for our most perfect latest 3 additions to our family! Our Shih Tzu, Boston Terrier, and French Bulldog couldnt be more perfect for our family. Our family has gotten our small dogs from Playful Pets from over 16 years ago and we have never regretted or been disappointed. 16 years ago we got our Toy Fox terrier and Toy Poodle from Playful Pets and they both were the most loyal and fun loving dogs ,but due to old age being 15 years old they had sadly past away last year and it took our family about a year to be ready to add new pets to our family. When we thought we were ready we decided to go to the same place at where we had such loving pets from before and went back to playful pets and upon entering the staff politely asked that we sanitize our hands and I thought that was an awesome and responsible thing to request of people who are coming in to see and pet those adorable puppies. Limiting as much bacteria transfer from us to the little puppies was so responsible and I applaud them for that. While my brother, sister in law, and I were there we saw many people coming in to just pet the puppies and not serious about getting one and in my own personal opinion for all those negative comments about how the staff demanded that they sanitize their hands in a very rude tone and that the staff was so rude could be nothing further from the truth and if those people were upset just to be asked to sanitize their hands before petting the pups and they werent even asking not to pet the puppies but just to sanitize their hands before touching the puppies were never serious in even getting those puppies, so their comments shouldnt be taken seriously and comments should be taken seriously from people who actually got a puppy from Playful Pets and not from those who were never serious about getting one. So, that day when we were there we ended up getting an adorable Boston terrier and the following day we got the shih tzu! Then several months later, like last month we brought our puppies to say hello to the staff and upon entering we fell in love with another chubby puppy, which was the French bulldog. Of course we couldnt resist and had to have him so we came back a few days later and got him! All the puppies were in great health and I would also like to applaud Playful Pets on how serious they take to the puppies health because they take care of the puppies health to a highly reputable veterinary hospital, called Steinbach Vet. Playful Pets also provided us documents of which states our puppies came from, day they were born, what the breeders name and license number were, all those little details. My comment/review is a long one because I cant stand how unfair that Playful Pets and their staff have been so wrongly portrayed from people who were never serious in purchasing a puppy or couldnt afford the puppy or felt that the staff didnt kiss the ground they walked on. Of course the puppies are going to be costly because there are many factors that some do not care to think about and some are like... #1: all the puppies come from all across the nation and not from Pennsylvania so you have to think about transportation costs #2: coming from a licensed breeder, not a "puppy mill" #3: medical cost ( veterinary and shots) #4: Food #5: day to day operations and staff (dont forget they are a business and have to pay bills) To all those who are reading reviews about Playful Pets please take it from someone who actually got 3 beautiful puppies from them. They are a nice place with a wonderful staff and if your serious about getting a puppy or looking for a certain pure breed then you should definitely go see them! Once again, thank you again Playful Pets (Paige, Beth Ann, and the rest of the staff) for a repeated wonderful experiences and for our 3 little guys and making our first holiday with the 3 newest additions to our family a wonderful one.

Please take the time to read my review. My boyfriend & I bought my Siberian Husky at the end of August from Playful Pets at the cost of $1,300 + tax. Our mistake. Do NOT mistake me, we love him. Little did we know he came directly from a puppy mill in Detroit Lakes. Breeder- Michelle Sonnenberg. Feel free to Google her name & read the various news articles on her. She was listed under the top 100 worst puppy mills in the nation this year. Sickening. He was sold to us under the guise of USDA certified & ACA certified. ACA is a bunch of bull in the first place. (My father has a GSP from a well-known AKC & ethical breeder at the cost of $1,100) Now. Night one (August 21st) Our puppy has extreme diarrhea. We make an appointment with OUR vet (as stated in our contract) Jax tests positive for Giardia- internal parasite. We treat him. Tests positive again in September. We treat him again with another aggressive de-wormer of Panacur-C. Check stool again. Jax tests positive for tapeworm. This is a nightmare. Another de-wormer. Mind you I have had two 100% healthy dogs who are always on preventive medication as well as Jax (Siberian Husky from Playful Pets) Now. In our contract it is clearly stated they do NOT cover or reimburse for any medical costs related to internal or external parasites. They have obviously been down this road & no not care about their puppies. Giardia is spread through the dogs ingesting feces. (Most likely contaminated water. My puppy either A) has either had this since the breeder or b) picked it up at Playful Pets. Either way- unacceptable that he was never properly taken care of by their vet & had a stool sample check & treated. Fast forward to Dec. 7th (he is 6 months now & he is FINALLY testing negative for any internal parasites. Please DO NOT BUY from this place. You will only be contributing to the US problem of puppy mills and be receiving a sick puppy... Either adopt & rescue or do your research before buying from a pet shop.

We purchased a 10 week old Boston terrier from playful pets. From the time we took her home she never ate the dry puppy food or vitamins that we were required to purchase. They were feeding her baby food at the store which was explained that they were just supplementing her regular meals with the baby food to help her gain weight. When we took her for her vet check up he suspected that she was sick and that was why she was eating baby food. Within 3 days of bringing her home she began vomiting and couldnt keep anything down. We had to hospitalize her for IV hydration to avoid her dying. I notified the pet store of what was going on. They originally wanted us to take her to their vet but then said to go ahead and let our vet treat her. She made very little progress over the next few days. The store said we could return her if we wanted to. At this point our family was already attached to her and not ready to let them euthanize her because that is what it sounded like they would do if we returned her. She slowly began to show signs of improvement and with antibiotics and a regimen of steroids she did recover. I then contacted the store to get reimbursed for my vet bill. But instead of sounding relieved that she was better and we were happy to bring her home, the owner wanted to see the vet bill along with my receipt. After submitting that he wanted a note from the vet explaining what he treated her for. After submitting this too I never heard back from them or received payment for the vet bill. I can’t believe this place has been in business since the 60’s. Their business practices alone should have put them out of business years ago. It’s not only that fact that they sold us a sick dog but didn’t even try to make amends. Stay away from this place. It may look all friendly on first, but their dogs are sickly and they are just looking for a quick sell. I think they hate dogs.
