This place is unbelievable... Purchased a puppy from there Tuesday 12-11.She was a Christmas present for my daughter. Not even 12 hrs later we were at our local vet do to her listless behavior & laying in her urine. She was diagnosed of having hypo glycemia & frail. They kept her for several hours w/specific instructions toward the evening in which we picked her up & followed, she appeared ok. The following morning poor baby was still responding the same way, listless & laying in her urine. I called up Pet City & informed them of her behavior they said to bring her in so they would care for her & take to their vet. That was the 13th, called later that afternoon, they said she was responding well. Called the following day & left message with their staff, in which said someone would get back with me. Saturday morning I received a call saying our little puppy was dead, I was flabbergasted! After spending $861.00 with them Tuesday & Wednesday $281.00 at the Vet she was gone. Was expecting the owner to get back with me, he never did. Finally after several attempts of calling, finally reached him on 12-18-12. Mr Frank clearly appeared put out, exasperated & defensive. Stating negligence was on our behalf within the 12 hrs we had her. I was trying to be diplomatic considering she was sick within the 12 hrs of purchasing. Ultimately he said; I dont need to offer you an exchange, but considering the circumstances I will, but there are no refunds. We decided to further investigate before we considered looking at another puppy from Pet City. This was the worst part of furthering our investigating: We purchased a Japanese Chin 3 years prior from Pet City, whom suffered the same illnesses(shes healthy now). Not knowing to much information we didnt think it was to abnormal. Thats why we thought this past year to purchase a new family pet thru them. But after losing our Min Aussie we further looked into records. The pedigree info we were given 3 yrs ago after purchasing the Japanese Chin in 2009, was in comparison to the pedigree of the Min Australian Shep. we purchased last week 12-2012. Realizing that both animals were from the same pedigree owners out of McPherson, Ks called "Canterbury Tails Pets" 2 different breeds same owner. I smell a huge stinky rat or shall I say puppy mill, totally makes me sick. These people are trying to make money off of people in the worst way & making it appear the sire or dame parents are of stellar bloodlines! Which I bet those places inject hormones to speed up the mating process for these poor animals & take the babies away from their mothers before they are truly healthy & ready. Then ship them to places like Pet City, makes me sick! I plan on suing this establishment. Not only for the wrong doing morally, but personally & financially, they should shut down this place. We are without our little Min Aussie Shep this Christmas & a sad lesson for my 13 yr old. I hope this will help all those in search of a lovable companion to avoid the consequences & heartache that Pet City caused us.

Upon entering the store, it smelled awful. I thought, well, its animals. However, it was worse than any pet store should smell. The employees are inconsiderate and inefficient. We stood idly buy while two of them talked about tortoises, finally they stopped to help us. Yea, they carried on a conversation of their own, spoke to us, and then went back to their personal conversation. Finally, they joked about being rude and helped us. All we needed was rats to feed a snake. When the young lady god the rats, she put two of them in one box. We specifically asked if they would be okay in that box. She promised they would. I must take a minute to mention the rats were much higher than advertised and there was a lame excuse about why. On the way home, two of the rats (the ones in the box together, escaped the box. Luckily, this happened while we were parked and not driving. It took us two hours to get the rats, we had to kill them to get them out of the car. So now, im out of two rats. When I called, the girl had an attitude about it, saying that she never had a problem putting two rats in a box because she had snakes and thats just what she did. She sort of offered to see if the manager might give me one free. I will never return to this store and I urge you not too either. Also, the puppies are miserable and kept in terrible conditions. It needs to be closed.

Ive always seen all the bad reviews but I would also see a couple good ones here and there so my mom and I decided to see for ourselves and Wow I feel so sorry for those animals especially for the puppies the golden retrievers look like they are about to die at any minute they are so skinny they look so under weight and theres feces in every cage with those poor babies and thats not the worse part about it we seen roaches inside one of the cages with the Yorkies the roach was about to go inside the puppy ear so the women that worked there hit the window and it ran she continued to talk as if we didnt see than tried to tell us look at the other puppies I guess to get us from seeing more roaches some of the puppies werent even moving I held a black maltpoo and she was the cutest thing ever when I put her down my heart broke because she started crying she was $900 I just had to leave because I knew there wasnt anything I could do for her I was leaving and I kept looking back and you could hear her crying I felt so bad her belly was so huge so I think she had worms I wanted to buy her just to get her away from there but I know that she would have came with a lot of health problems my aunt got a chihuahua from here around 2 years ago and her poor puppy died 2 months later I dislike this place because these animals shouldnt have to live like this

First of all, this place is absolutely disgusting!!! Pet City has an acrid smell that I have never experienced in 30 years of my life! The puppies are kept in dirty cages filled with urine and poop. I actually watched a dog eat his poop because it was stuck between the grates and he had no food or water. After holding two different puppies I actually got a smear of poop on my white shirt. To add insult to injury the poor little pups smelled like an explosion of waste, odor neutralizer and fragrance. All of the dogs are insanely overpriced. Employees here are scammers. They will flat out lie to you and tell you that you have 4 days to see if the puppy is a good fit for your family, but beware... there are NO refunds! Do not expect to get a real or readable genealogy for your $1,500 pet, you will not get it as in my case. The owner (or manager whichever he is) is a real jerk and is quick to tell you to "get the f out" of his store if you have an issue with their business. If you happen to have a problem with your transaction be prepared to hear the line "go ahead and sue me". Extremely poor business practice, completely dishonest workers, sick and filthy animals and all around scammers. BEWARE of this business!
