PetSmart Eldridge is HORRIBLE. The pet hospital and the pets hotel especially. I brought my dog to the pets hotel last month (she has been to this hotel numerous times before) but for whatever reason this time it was a problem! My dog was taken to the hospital during her stay however NO ONE at the hospital bother to informed me WHY my dog was there and what her issue was. When I arrived at petsmart to pick up my dog I was told the DR (DR Bell) would be with you to let you know what happened. My dog and I were escorted into an exam /waiting room where I waited for about THIRTY minutes and still NO DR showed. while waiting I became frustrated because I have just got off a 6hr flight and came straight to petsmart to pick up my dog and I had noticed while waiting that my dogs neck is BRIGHT RED! NO ONE at the hospital could tell me WHAT happened and WHY her neck was red and looked inflamed but I was promised the DR (Dr. Bell) would call me and let me know what happened before close of business . Guess it what? It has been OVER a month later and NO phone call despite me calling and leaving messages as well as talking to the office manager about this incident. I tried to get information from the pets hotel since she was at the hotel when this "incident" occurred and the manager at the pet hotel FIRST words out of her mouth when I came to get my dog was "maybe she shouldnt come back here." Not HOW is your pet doing? Im sorry this happened or even some insight into what had happened. She made it seem like my dog was a bother to her and her facility. Call me crazy but I thought the PURPOSE of a pet hotel was to provide a safe haven for pets while the owner was out of town. I myself am a manager. I come in contact with people all day EVERYDAY and those would NEVER be the first words that came out of my mouth when interacting with a LOYAL customer but she does NOT have to worry. I WILL NEVER NOR will my pet or any furture pet (s) STEP foot into another petsmart for as long as I live. Pet smart thanks to your insensitive manager YOU just lost a LOYAL and well paying customer. Ive lived in various states due to my job relocating me a few times and Ive ALWAYS found comfort because Petsmart was in every city I moved to and I felt like my dog would receive quality care because after all I AM OVER paying for it but I was WRONG. Petco HERE we come hopefully we will have better luck.

This is for the actual retail side: they love to play bait and switch with their price points and its happened to me more than once. A couple of times I didnt notice until after I left the store. I had bought a few things and thought maybe the total was off. When I checked I saw that the dog food I bought was actually 10.00 more than listed. I was already home and didnt have the time to go back. A few other times I just grabbed a different item when it rang up wrong because the total was greater than 50% of what it was on the shelf for. But last night I had to go in for some training treats. They were ALL listed on the shelf for 6.49. They rang up 10.49. I informed the cashier that wasnt right. I brought her over and she proceeded to grab them all off the shelf. I asked if she was going to honor the price since they were all listed as 6.49. She told me no. That they dont honor the listed pice and they only show the customer the right sku on the shelf. She then moved it to an area that said 9.99. I pointed out that was still wrong. As it rang up as 10.49. 50 cents but still. Even though it isnt the job of the customer to check the prices to make sure the item is priced right.. if you shop here learn to read the price points and UPC and Sku numbers. I cant imagine how many people have been bait and switched here. The good old Walmart trick, huh petsmart? I think I will start going to Petco. Ive never had this problem there.

Never boarding there again. I have taken my dog to PetSmart (Eldridge at Westheimer) several times for boarding and grooming. And after the several poor grooming services and the recent boarding experience he is never going back. The last time that I boarded him there, he got sick. He was fine when we dropped him off. When you board your dogs there they make you provide an emergency contact, but it doesnt do any good if they dont call them! My dog had diarrhea and was throwing up. Did they take him to the Banfield vet that is right there in the store? No they didnt. Instead they try to give him wet dog food, and any dog owner knows that is the wrong thing you give a dog when sick to their stomaches. My dog started getting sick Thursday night/Friday morning and they finally called my contact at 8:30 on a Saturday night giving them an ultimatum that they must come get the dog or theyre taking him to an overnight Pet ER at our cost. Oh and they close at 9. When my contact picked my dog up at 9pm he had a horrible odor to him and was very lethargic. Due to their ignorance, my dog was so dehydrated that he had to have an IV and stay overnight at the Pet ER. After being on an IV for a day and some medicine from the vet my dog was fine. PetSmart did nothing to correct the situation or their behavior, but give me excuses. And you know what they say about excuses....

Boarding after one weekend -Dehydrated -Lethargic -Bloody stool -Irritated ears -Diarrhea -Throwing up with blood in it -Not drinking water/not eating -A day spent at the vet with a expensive bill & 3 different medications later. Petsmart said it was due to stress but most of those things were not told to me over the phone or when I went to go pick him up, thats all the things I experienced with my dog after picking him up. My dog has never been boarded before so I thought maybe that could be a possibility but my vet told me that its either a bug he picked up or bacteria. So that obviously tells me they dont clean or keep a good environment, dont care and blame your dog for getting sick. I also noticed that they keep ONE BIG water bowl for every dog playing in the room to drink out of. Meanwhile the person "watching" them is on their phone & could care less to interact with the dogs. Some animal lover you are, right? Save yourself the heartbreak of seeing your pet in pain. The money, the time the aftermath and worrying. Ill never go back there again and take my advice TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

I will never take my dog back. Erin groomed my dog and did a horrible job. She cut him too close while shaving his nails and didnt even have the decency to tell me. I found out when I saw blood on my dogs paw when we got home. I called Erin and she said that she meant to tell me when I picked him up, but she was in the back. I think that is something you would want to tell the owner of a pet. Lately we noticed that our dog had been scooting on the carpet and which he has never done. So I looked and he has a cut on his bottom from the clippers. I think Erin is very irresponsible, unprofessional and could use more training on how to groom.
