I went to this locations vetco event to get my dog some vaccinations. They were rough with him, put him in a muzzle within five minutes, and (Im reasonably sure) actually forgot to give him one of his shots. When the vet had finished rushing us through, he turned around and ignored me. I said, "so.. is that it?" And he told me "yeah." I said " so when will I hear back about the heartworm test?" He said, " oh, I think they send it through your email. Should only be a day or two." Well, I never got the results. It turns out theyd transposed my email incorrectly, so I got them three weeks later when I called back about it. An hour after I got home I started to realize I had only seen them give him one shot, but that he was supposed to have two. Maybe I missed something, but Im reasonably sure I didnt. So I called to see if I can get in contact with the vet, and vetco says they have no contact with their vets, and dont know their info. Petco says the same thing when I call. So the vet, Dr. Cole, who took care of my dog apparently could have been an unlicensed ghost unicorn for all they know. The girl on the phone with vetco kept saying things like, "I cant tell you something I dont know. Were just a call center in Georgia. It says on the paper they gave him the shot, so he must have gotten it. I dont know what else you want me to tell you." Anyway tldr: do not take your pet to a travelling vet. Its a rookie mistake. Theres no accountability nor professionalism. Your pet will be treated quickly and clinically, without kindness nor compassion. A dollar sign with fur to them. Beware.

Ive been to this Petco multiple times with my mother. Every single time we go in we have problems with the poor excuse for employees. They are pretty much nonexistent when you need help and Ive always ended up having to track someone down to get their lazy butts over to the fish department. They act like its a huge dent in their time to have to get the fish out of the tank for you. Like its not their job. Weve had one employee in particular that loves to lecture my mother and is incredibly rude about it all the while making faces and ect. I lost track of how many times weve just walked away while the rude woman was still blabbering away. The fish department is rather gross and dirty. Not much selection. The feeder insect cups with like mealworms and superworms are no longer well, worms but now adult beetles or have been sitting so long theyve died. Ive had it with this store and will no longer be coming back.

The customer service at this store is nonexistant. I went to buy some tropical fish and had to walk around the store after standing for thirty minutes and find help. They acted less than enthusiastic about having to do something other than stand in the middle of the store.They had no knowledge of any of the fish there and a I dont really care attitude (More than one employee on more than one occasion.) Upon getting my fish home and going through the proper getting ready period(I have had an aquarium for years now and very familiar with its proper care.) I am now looking at an aquarium with sick fungus covered and ick covered fish most of which are frozen in the freezer so I can go battle for my money back.All in all a horrible store. I will not go back even for a single dog treat.DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!

Who needs a big box pet store when at Petco you can get everything you need for your pets, whether they are mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds or fish? They carry everything I need for my fresh and salt water tanks. They have a beautiful selection of marine vertebrates and invertebrates. If they dont have a product in store, they can order it online and have it delivered in store. Petco doesnt sell dogs or cats (which I love about them); they have adoption drives. They regularly offer vaccinations. Their dogs and cats product selections are HUGE and of quality. Their staff is SUPER FRIENDLY and knowledgeable. I love this place!

Over the years the Petco in Topeka has gradually gotten worse. I have bought fish in their store which die quickly. And then when I go in there all of their fish are not for sale because they have been contaminated or something. Now, I bought dog treats for the office I work in, many clients bring in their dogs with them. The dog treats were full of larva that resulted in a huge infestation of my desk at work. That is it. I am done with Petco. I called and complained, I was then passed around and around until I was finally disconnected.

The associates were rude and they did not explain return policy on fish at the time of purchase we had a very bad experience when we tried to return and they refused to let us purchase new fish without a water sample so they knew why the previous one had died. We had purchased 2 fish the other is doing great. Went to petsmart and purchased more fish had no problems there.

I came here to get dog food and i stood in the aisles looking while two employees walked right by and did not ask if i needed help. Then I asked one worker if he can grab someone for assistance and he said i will send someone back to help you. 15 mins later nothing. Poor customer service and professionalism. (This is where i was standing)

Not worth one star. Store is not well stocked, poor variety, customer service is nonexistent. I go for the fish: I have never seen ick so advanced there was more parasite than fish. The tanks are unhealthy the fish are unhealthy. I understand fish die, but take them out more than every other day. Variety is also nonexistant.

Brittney one of the managers there also does the dog training. She is so knowledgeable and is a really nice person to deal with. Petco has done something right hiring her. Dont go to PetSmart as the classes are too large and they really do not help you and your dog does not get trained there. Petco has the best......

The GM and new management are extremely rude and just want to push there products on you. They also pester you to donate 3 times at the register. Youd be lucky to make it in and out without being asked to sign up for dog training at least a couple times. Animals are treated very poorly and the aquatics is pitiful.

They are very helpful and seem genuinely concerned about their customers pets. Good sales and you get points on purchases which translates to dollars off. They do a lot of work with local groups trying to find new homes for animals. The store is a smaller one but has a good selection of supplies

Staff was helpful and knowledgeable (about fish), but they seemed understaffed. Had the food items I was shopping for. The store is smaller than others in the area, so the range of goods is more limited, but I feel they had what I needed. Would shop there again.

We had just bought a dog and then went here, and they were so helpful. They gave us coupons and invited us to their Puppy Playtime that they have every week. Cool place. I approve.
