Truth be told, this store has seen better days. When you enter, theres a definite smell. It could be from the aquariums of fish located up front of the store, or it could be that the store is getting old and is taking on animal odors. It doesnt feel like the cleanest pet store in the area. Prices tend to be a bit higher here. You can bring your pet with you, and if youre here on a weekend, youre likely to encounter other pet owners with their pets. Petco also offers pet training classes, and occasionally has vets coming into the store to give shots. There are also grooming services available in the store. Depending upon the day, there are often cats available for adoption. In addition to pet food and pet items, youll also find rodents, fish, and other animals (lizards, tarantulas, etc.) for sale. Petco does offer a Pet Rewards program that allows you to accrue points/discounts on future purchases.

I have been to this store on several occasions. I have no complaints, other than one employee who insisted that their adoption rabbit was housed correctly when she was, in truth, not housed right for a house rabbit (no hay in the litterbox, small bowl of hay, LARGE bowl of pellets). Said employee didnt know whether the rabbit was a male or female, didnt know the rabbits name, and told me the wrong breed. (I later learned all the correct info on the Tri-County Humane Societys website.) As a long-time house rabbit lover, I was discouraged--especially when other Petcos partnering with rabbit rescue groups do such a lovely job. Rabbit aside, all other pets & products looked stellar. As I dont usually see bunnies in this store, I wont hold it against them in my rating, but thought I should at least note it for those who care.

A Private User

We used to bring our 20lb mini schnauzer to get his hair cut there. My husband and I went to pick him up and the woman who cut his hair took his collar off that held him to the high table and then went to get his normal collar. Our dog saw us and jumped off the tabe and slid across the floor into a cabinet and suffered a concusion. He was shaking walking sidewaise and his toung was hanging out we almost went the the emergency vet until he started acting fine again. It took almost a year for our vet to be able to cut his hair without a muzzle not sure what else they did to him while he was there but I will never return.

I only come here to occasionally buy reptile food for my three at home. Whenever I go look at the reptiles, the Leopard geckos, bearded dragons, and occasionally the ball pythons are completely over crowded. Reptiles are not meant to be shoved into a small cage with 15 other individuals. The other animals for sale look okay, but I personally buy from private breeders because animals from whole salers (which is where Petco gets them from) are at a high risk of parasites or sickness.

Brought my dog in, paid 60 some dollars for him to get a full bath, which he is still shedding a lot. The shampoo used isnt like Ive had down in Texas where I smelled the shampoo and thst dog didnt shed after. So I dont know what this shop does but I can do what they did for a lot cheaper. And after calling back to ask questions she said to bring him back in to have him brushed. Wow. Not good.

This store is in desperate need of updates. Just upon walking in, it feels dark and dingy. It also lacks a bit of selection when compared to other pet stores in town. I almost always choose to avoid this store. Its just not an enjoyable place to shop. The employees for the most part are nice, but its not enough to make me want to give this PetCo my business.

Super expensive compared to Mills Fleet, literally more than twice the price on some treats and bones, but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the grooming is fantastic!! Not everything is more expensive though and they have stuff you cant find other places.

Went to buy three products fast. Went to register and the woman was very rude. She was going to give me over $10 back when she owed me a bit over $3. When I tried to help she snapped at me. Very unfriendly. Its complicated to return an item if youre in a hurry.

It was clean and tidy and when checking out the person in front of me had asked the cashier to look up when they had last bought something which I guess takes awhile to do so the cashier said she would after she rang me up which I appreciated

I like that they honored the sale price of an item when they ran out.. However my picky cat will only eat one brand of food and they only got 4 in and I need a dozen or better. Hard to stay stocked up at that rate.

Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I adopted a wonderful kitty and the staff helped me get everything i needed. Even holding onto my bought items while I ran some other last minute errands!

I really like the petco here in St Cloud. The staff are friendly, and I occasionally get really good deals on fish. If you like the option of buying inexpensive juvenile fish, its a great stop.
