Location to town good. View from cottage good. However....they do not care about your security at all. 4 of the 5 Windows lacked latches and 2 in front were easy targets for immediate break-in with rhododendron bushes for cover. When confronted, it was not appreciated by management. We were given dowels the next morning which fell out immediately. Not safe. Also, no outlet in bathroom that will fit any normal hairdryer. Had to move the hard to move bed to use one of the bedroom outlets and the burners on the stove were the wrong size for that stove top. No ice machine for cottages and two hard to use ice cube trays in refer. Only one small window opened to ocean side in upper cottage with no child safety in place. Long way down ...and of course, no latch to keep child from opening. But of course they would say a child has never fallen there so not to worry. STAY AT OWN RISK!!! BTW...a man patrols once in a while so we were never in danger. HOGWASH!!! We were 2 elderly women with no defense sleeping with steak knives. No fun. Oh...if a man is over 5 10" and wants to wash his hair in the shower, he will more than likely have to stand outside the shower to get his head low enough to get wet. Tight fit with VERY low showerhead. If you are a large person, I would not recommend cottage 229. They also gave us a bath towel labeled "DOG" hung in the bathroom for our bathing pleasure.

Like all Fred Meyers, this store is generally clean, well organized, and fairly priced (as compared to area Albertsons or Safeways, which seem to be more expensive for most grocery products). Additionally, the staff at this Fred Meyer have always been extremely helpful. On one occasion, I had my 2 very young children with me when I went to self checkout. The self checkout attendant (I dont recall his name unfortunately) came to scan everything for me without being asked. Then to my horror, I discovered I had left my wallet in the car. He waited by my groceries until I returned, only to further discover I had left my wallet at an entirely different place. He held my groceries for me for 20 minutes until I returned, then offered to help me out to the car. Definitely going above and beyond. I have not had a negative experience with this location. Other perks are the free fruits they allow you to give to your children while you shop - a must have for my son who looks forward to his apple every time; the on-site Fred Meyer gas station; and the strip mall located in the same parking lot, with a hair salon, Party City, and even a Kohls.

Every time I come to shop my kids want to go to the Playland and EVERY time, the employee comes up with some kind of excuse to not take my kids. One time the woman simply wanted to close early. Today as we approached the Playland my daughter coughed a little cough and immediately the woman said "we cant take kids with coughs". Well my daughter isnt sick, she simply ran in from the parking lot with me and coughed as a result of running. Of course I could simply have told her that but why would I want to leave my child with people who dont seem to want to do their job? If there is always some excuse it seems clear to me that the people working there dont actually want to watch the children and frankly, I would rather take my business elsewhere considering I only attempt to shop there so my kids can play! Id rather spend less on my groceries anyway!

I don’t usually have a problem, the staff is excellent, patient, friendly, & they are always so patient when I have to look for my rewards card at the gas. Today, the lady who pumped my gas, a little older and blonde, asked me twice for a rewards number and I asked her to give me a second. When I went to go give her my rewards card she had already started pumping my gas and she said very loudly “are you serious” and then when she was done with my rewards card she set it on my the window of my car. I do not usually have much to complain about, every one has their bad days, but this lady plain out rude and disrespectful towards me. I will not stop coming to pump my gas here as every else is SO pleasant and kind. But I surely hope this incident is addressed.

I got a cake from the bakery there and the service was AWFUL!! I could not belive how rude I was treated by a lady named Cindy. She rushed me through the whole process so much that I had to call back later to fix my order. She didnt understand what I wanted it to say, and when I tried to explain it she rolled her eyes at me and asked if I wanted "butter cream or what" She acted like because Im young I dont deserve to be treated with respect. I love this Store and I come here al the time because I live down the street and Ive never had bad service there, except for at the bakery!

This particular Fred Meyer is generally very busy no matter what time you go. Parking can be especially frustrating. Maybe its because it is on a Wood Village shopping plaza that has many other shops that share the parking lot. But they recently made it even smaller by having a gas station be built where parking used to be. The staff seem to feel the burden of the busyness too. Sometimes they arent the friendliest staff, but maybe I just caught them on bad days. All in all, if you can make it to the Gresham Burnside location, that one is less busy.

I live with celiac disease, and it is not an option for me to choose anything else except for gluten free breads and other specified foods. But this store regularly neglects to stock the bread freezers and shelves, as well as puts bags of regular bread (which have breathing holes in them) right beside and even on top of their gluten free choices. This is a complete disregard to a group of shoppers that have very few options to begin with.

This FM is 2 story, and I feel like it makes it quicker to get around since you dont have to go quite so far from one end of the store to the other. The elevator (Im in a wheelchair) is spacious, its always easy to find someone to help, and when we checked out, Shauna was a great cashier -observant, kind, and professional. The location is great, too - snacks and Party City nearby!

Called in to make sure they had goats milk in stock. Turns out they only had 1 case left, which is exactly how much I needed. They reserved the entire case, with my name on it and everything. All I had to do was come in and tell them I had called in before and they went and got it for me. What a gas saver! I hate driving around town trying to find items not in stock.

Sending $$ via Western Union at customer service desk. There was no kine so we got waited on quickly. However, for whatever reason, the clerk helping us, although friendly and helpful, seemed to take an awfully long time completing this transaction. All in all, since we werent in a big hurry, the experience was not unpleasant. Thanks.
