Two of my children wanted elephant ears and the other two wanted ice cream so we went next door to Zingers after picking up the elephant ears. The line was huge at the Elephant Ear place so I figured wed get those 1st so our ice cream didnt melt while waiting in line for the elephant ears. So we walk in expecting to get our order and be on our way to the beach to enjoy our ice cream and elephant ears. Nope! Did Not happen with the help of Zingers. Thankfully this still happened thanks to Tuckered Bear located a few shops down. I was stopped immediately at the door because I had an elephant ear in my hand folded up and was told "elephant ears are not allowed in here. There is a sign at the door" Seriously?! I did miss your sign but I find this absolutely ridiculous. We werent dining in. I can totally understand the reasoning behind not wanting outside food being eaten while dining in. It potentially causes the business to lose business by customers filling up on someone elses product. I get it. However we werent dining in. Simply grabbing our cones and leaving. Our elephants ears had no negative bearing on them whatsoever. Now, they really lost business as we went a few doors down and spent our money there. Im sure I will get some snarky comment from the owner given the responses I see from all the other negative comments on here. Im honestly blown away by some of the statements that were made in the reviews by the owner. Basically telling customers if you dont like it, find somewhere else or them stating "this is what a lot of other places do as well" . What lovely customer service. Explains the the cocky/snarky tone "Have a nice day!" I got when leaving with two upset children. I would bet money that was the owner. Despicable. edited to add, you all should probably check their yelp reviews as well. Look at his responses there. With so many complaints about the customer service (or lack thereof) you really start to question who is really the problem? But no matter what, you ask the owner that one and he will blame the customer. Come to find out per Yelp review that the owner of the Elephant ear shop and this grump man here, do not get along. Wonder if thats the real issue here. Owner claims its not but I think otherwise. Not only re customers treated horribly but his surrounding businesses have issues with him as well. I hate to keep editing my review but it just keeps getting worse! Look at the reviews on facebook!! He belittles a woman and her parenting skills! Openly admits to yelling at them. I am just one review in! I cannot imagine what else I am about to read. Glad I chose to leave my review in every outlet.

What a terrible place. On the last time of our coast vacation, we took my 2 children and my niece and nephew in for a special treat. I have a broken leg with full cast and got into their line with only 1 group in front of us, but it still took really long time. Once it was our turn, we told the nice girl that our two boys have extreme peanut allergies, although we do have our epi pens with us, I just wanted to make sure that they dont use a spoon that was previously used to scoop a peanut product. Then all of a sudden a guy jumps over and yells *** "you really shouldnt even be here, I reccomennd you just leave!"*** he went on to say that they have products that have peanuts and they have a disclaimer that they have food processed in the same facility that also processes peanuts. I said Okay but thats not what I was asking, Im just asking that you use a clean spoon to reduce the chance peanuts were still on it. He refused and said he wasnt allowed to wash spoons. I asked then can he just use a new spoon out of the drawer, he said no that I should just leave. I asked if he was the manager and he said know and wanted to know If I wanted to talk to the owner. I said sure I would love to talk to the owner. He cam out and I explained the confrontation, he then instructed the employee to wash the spoon "this time" but they were not allowed to wash spoons in between customers. He walked to the back room and the punk guy grabbed the spoon, turned the sink water on and wiggled back and fourth through water twice and returned and said " what do you want" I said thats not washing the spoon, and all hell broke out because I was done. He was about to get his a** kicked by a guy in a full leg cast. We walked down the street to ice cream place called Swietgerts (Which was absolutely amazing!!!!)and I told the guy about the peanut allergy, and he recommended that he just wash the spoon. I was like wow. Really? Thanks. DONT GO TO ZIGERS ICE CREAM. READ THE REVIEWS. THEY TREAT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITES BAD. THEY KNOW THE STREET IS SO BUSY THEY DONT HAVE TO BE KIND. SHOW THEM THAT THEY ARE WRONG. WISH I COULD GIVE THEM A ZERO 0!!!!

We went to Zinergs today, 7/9/16, and were extremely disappointed. After waiting behind 4 girls for about 10 minutes for service (1 young server available - another young man and the owner were cleaning), we started to place our order. The 2nd young man finally came to the counter and asked the people behind us what they wanted. We had one cone so far out of 4 from the 1st server. My fiance mentioned that we were still waiting for our order. The 2nd young man said only one server could help one group at a time so we would have to wait while the people behind us got served 1st by him. He was incredibly rude. We wound up leaving after just getting the kids their cones. The thing that got me is that the owner was witnessing the entire exchange and did nothing! I dont care how good the ice cream is. If this is the type of customer service they provide, they will lose business quickly. We will not be back and will not hesitate to share our experience.

We camp every year at Fort Stevens and make a trip into Seaside just to visit Zingers. They are great! Weve tried many flavors and never had a bad one. Its a small shop, so it can get crowded and busy. That means that the employees may not be falling over themselves to pamper you but are working hard to serve everyone in a timely manner. Weve never had a bad experience there, even when our 3 small kids have caused a ruckus. The quality of ice cream is excellent, better than any Ive had anywhere. They use all natural ingredients and everything is made by hand in the store.

I went here with a large group of family members today. There are weird notes posted all over the shop about things that customers can or cant do, and I immediately got a weird vibe upon walking in. They dont serve kid cones, so when we inquired about splitting a regular scoop into two bowls for our two toddlers, they said it would be extra. When we asked for a water cup, they said that would also be extra. Overall a strange experience, despite having fairly good ice cream. I dont think well be back.
