Terrible . My wife saw an ad on Craigslist. She called Dave at 99 appliances and he talked a good game. Said he goes through them,tests them and warranties them for 90 days. 150$ plus 35$ delivery. We are trusting people and took him at his word. He brought a dryer over that looked like it had been beaten with ball bats and chains. The machine became so hot it melted a plastic bag and into a fabric softener bottle. It was so hot you could not touch. We called Dave and he said it was our vent probably. I checked the vent which was fine. So I plugged in and it and even not running became crazy hot. We also discovered the timer did not work. My wife who is super easy going calls Dave several times and she said he was rude and indignant . After more unreturned calls he finally calls us and sends his neighbor out with an even crappier one that violently shook and sounded like a 50 gallon drum full of rocks rolling down a hill. It was also probably at least 25 plus years old. I was over dealing with that guy and fire hazard pieces of junk. I just chalked up the 185$ because he offers no cash refunds, took the used dryer to a thrift shop and purchased one elsewhere. Disreputable is a kind word for Dave and 99 appliances. More suitable ones come to mind. So if you want a bad experience,drop a hammer on your foot, sit on a nail, and toss a 185$ out the window of your car. That is bad but probably more pleasant than doing business with that guy.

Unfortunately, I have to write a bad review. We purchased a washer/dryer set from them about a month ago. 2 days after we bought them, we called Dave to say the dryer was making a screeching sound. Since the machines are under warranty, He promised he would swing by to take a look. About a week later, the dryer completely died. We have called him repeatedly, he would promise to come by as soon as he felt better, but the day never came. Note: every time I would call him, he would answer. Until I asked him for my money back. Now, keep in mind, I told him that all I wanted was a machine that worked. I did not really want my money back, but if he was not going to fix it as his warranty states, then I wanted my money back. He said yes, to call him back in a couple of days and he would come pick up his machines and give me my money back. 5 calls and voicemails later, no response and no money. I would not recommend him to anyone.

One star is too much. I have had the same experience buying a washer and dryer as the comments listed here. Hes all talk and not truthful about his inventory, warranty, or servicing your purchase or even returning it. Save yourself a lot of headaches and trouble and buy from someone/somewhere else. Cannot and will not in good conscience recommend him/this business at all but say fairly and squarely warn my neighbors in Salem- stay away from this guy/place!
