A limited selection of appliances; Extremely friendly and caring staff. A few months ago a friend was looking to replace her wall oven so we spent a few hours visiting some appliance stores in the general Portland metro area. We ended up at Hutchins TV, Video & Appliances on a spur of the moment, last minute search of appliance stores near us as we were driving. The first thing that you can not help but notice is the bright yellow truck from an era gone by and it brought a smile to both of our faces. When we walked in, we were quickly greeted by a young man who worked there, but we did not get that pressured feeling that we had gotten from other stores. We quickly looked at the selection of appliances and when we did have a few questions, the young man was knowledgeable and friendly and displayed a friendly demeanor. The one tiny improvement that I could suggest is that he could have been a bit more familiar with manufacturer rebates. We knew of a rebate that he didnt, but that was because of our shopping around previously. But to his credit, he stayed positive and didnt display any abrasiveness that Ive gotten from sales staff for knowing something they didnt. Ultimately, my friend made 3 purchases from Hutchins and does not regret that decision. There was clear communication on all fronts regarding the expected delivery of the appliances, when we could expect a call from the installers and what to expect when the installers arrived, including some possible extra charges due to appliance size differences. Kudos to the staff at Hutchins for their friendly and comfortable environment!

My washer broke down as my grandchildren were being dropped off for the weekend. Since it was time for me to start working on their dinner, I did not have time to research. Our go-to place is Home Depot; however, they did not have anything that could be delivered for at least 5 days. By the time we left there, it was nearly 9pm so we came home and I started looking on the internet for anything local. (were fairly new to the area). I found Hutchins Appliance and I arrived as they were opening hoping to find a nice set, for smallish money, that could be delivered same day....I know the impossible want. To my surprise, not only the pricing was comparable, but they could have it to me by the end of the day....turned out it was within a couple of hours. Ive been bragging to my neighbors and family since. The salesman could have told me only the pricy models were in stock to get a higher sale since they could deliver right away, but he showed me the sales special first, and they were in my price range - and similar to big box pricing. The gentleman who did the delivery was polite and very knowledgeable. When he was done setting up the machines, he explained the features as well. Guess where Im going FIRST should I need an appliance instead of the big box store :-) Hutchins!!! Thank you for saving me and being great!

In response to the comments below, posted by the store, I would like to mention that we did indeed receive a model that had numerous scratches on top of both the washer and the dryer. I had seen this set at a trade show, and assumed that this is where the damage occurred. Hence my comment regarding a floor model, Regarding the store owners somewhat snide comment that it is "common practice to contact the store during the warranty period", I did so on several occasions. A repairman was sent out twice, but failed to remedy the issues. Further calls resulted in the "Call the manufacturer" line, and we all know how that works out.... At this time I have a dryer that indicates a "normal" drying cycle of 50 minutes, but only operates for 22 minutes, leaving my clothes damp. The doors are difficult to close. My clothes smell like the jungle when I retrieve them from the washing machine.

We couldnt be happier with our experience with Hutchins. We purchased a washer/ dryer set, and the sales person was very knowledgeable and helpful. When the set was delivered they had reconfigured the dryer to vent out the side instead of out the back to fit our laundry room. They also had all the needed paper work and receipts for the rebates. Their prices are competitive with Big Box stores and if you shop here you will come away with a smile on your face.

I just got amazing customer service by Hutchins. I had a problem with a washer that I bought there 3 years ago. When I called them, they helped me out. The amazing part came, when they went and found my file, called me back and told me that per the warranty, they would pay for the labor as well as the part to be fixed. To recap, they spent the extra step to find my file, call me and cost themselves money. They have a buyer for life. Doug

Over the last 15+ years I have purchased over 10 appliances from Hutchins.While I still shop around every time i need to get a new appliance, I always come back to Hutchins. They meet and beat prices, bend over backwards to help me out, are courteous. I recommend them to everyone..no need to shop at a big box store (and their infinite number of clueless sales people) when you can get a small business service for equally as good of prices!

This is the second fridge I bought for my work. They were replacements for some that we had bought 9 years ago. I looked around online and in stores and they were the best price and they were the only one to have the correct size. What I really like is that I called after 2 years and they knew the size and price of the first one I bought and they were able to get one that matched it perfectly. Thank you very much

Hutchins is a great brick and mortar store for all your new appliance needs. They had the company take care of a service issue with a stove we bought. It was repaired quickly at no charge to us. They also have great prices on pellets for your smoker. Great family owned business that is a joy to patronize.
