FED UP WITH SAFEWAY! After attempting to use the "JUST4U" savings that did not ring up at the cash register, again, I was sent to the customer service desk. I was promptly treated as if I were attempting to scam Safeway out of my discount. The Just4U savings had an 8pc dark chicken for $4.89 each with no limit. The CS cashier told me to "prove it". Unfortunately for me, I was buying this for my daughter. So I called my daughter for her "password" to the Safeway website. No answer. So I ask the rude cashier, can I just come in with the receipt later and be refunded the difference? NO, IT MUST BE DEALT WITH NOW. So I said fine cancel the order. So she said she credited my card (no she didnt found that out the next day). I asked if they could put the chicken in the deli case to keep it warm until my daughter could come and get it herself. NO IT MUST GO IN THE REFRIDGERATED SECTION TO BE RE-SOLD. All of this was for a discount of $2.49 mind you. While standing there my daughter called me and I told her I needed her password. She said all Safeway needed was the phone number. Well the CS cashier finally agreed to use a picture texted to my phone. I get the text from my daughter and CS rep kept making the font bigger trying to find a reason not to honor the price. ARE YOU FRIKKEN KIDDING ME?? Then she rings it up again at the regular price, I enter my daughters phone in, and then she said you need to enter the card phone number, I DID, I replied. Then she says oh I guess I will have to put it in MANUALLY? AGAIN, ARE YOU FRIKKEN KIDDING ME? That is why I have been standing here arguing with you for 30 minutes....yes 30 minutes! I am SO SO SO OVER SAFEWAY AND THEIR RUDE PEOPLE. This happens almost every time I use the "Just4U" ABUSE PROGRAM. By the way, 2 weeks earlier, this same CS cashier had to honor a different purchase I had made that had also did not accept my Just4U discount. She was nice then, even told me about this great herbal cream for sore muscles for about 5 minutes she talked about that stuff. I know people have bad days, but when your job is customer service, it means just that! Not customer abuse!!!

Their was a fly inside a package of steak I had put in my cart , went back to the meat dpt. The seafood dpt employee was the only one their, he rightfully corrected by offering a free package of meat.. how kind , I thought.. thankfully my toddler didnt eat any of it , me and my fiance both got food poisining of some sorts last night , continuing into the mor ning. I am assuming because of the process the attendant explained the meat goes through after being cut , the equipment needs to updated to keep food at proper temperatures, or someone is taking a smoke break and just letting raw meat hangout and get foul. Not all safeways are like this, and this is not the only time I have purchased meat. Last package I just threw away. Meat was cleary older and had been repackaged with a new label.. Hope this gets fixed soon!

First, I got extreme food poisoning from some pre-wrapped deli food-=buyer beware. This was at Lebanon store. Since I typically shop at very late hrs, have noticed no one really seems to care about much & especially the cashiers seem fully unhappy, with many complaints. Now am weary of produce or any foods handled by employees. Shop @ Safeway due to few alternates in Lebanon & gas $ savings -- a whole yr of gas savings was not worth the agony of horrible food poisoning (+costs of ruined linens et al). Its unfortunate so many Safeway employees seem apathetic -- many of us are struggling, working longer hrs & often less pay....or maybe hoping for work; perhaps the mgrs/supvrs @ Safeway give more apathy & negatives to employees & so it gets passed on??

Always under staffed. Long lines ALL the time, two cashiers and maybe the manager will hop on for a minute. Usually more than 6 customers in line at each stand. Staff always seems unhappy, and irritated, probably bc theyre under staffed. Unable to find someone to help you locate a product, then they ask at check out if you found everything alright, too late now Im already frustrated by the lack of cashiers and need to go, and people waiting behind me.Never mind Often out of product is on sale. I used to shop nothing but safeway for years in Washington, but this store is horrible. Mega foods is right across the street, not so fancy but better prices and friendlier cashiers.

You have the best fresh produce in town but time after time, your clerks ring up the wrong code. Today I was charged $2.99 lb instead of $1.99 lb for broccoli florets. I didnt catch the error and didnt have time to go to the service counter to get it corrected. I have to constantly ask the clerk to double check and not long ago, caught S10 mistake, not counting numerous $2 or $3 almost every time I go in. Otherwise, your store is clean, inviting, and very friendly. I do call you Freezeway because its always so friggin cold in there. Guess I just need to continue to watch the check out.

Safeway is the new "Shop N Kart" since the old "Shop N Kart" turned into Mega Foods. Someone had to take their spot. Safeway customer service is poor (cashiers). They wont even put your food into your cart for you. You have to put your own bags into your cart. For the prices Safeway charges, they should at least put your food into your cart. But Alas it is the new "Shop N Kart Also. the cashiers do nothing but gossip and complain while theyre scanning your food (to each other) and ignore you (the customer). Two thumbs down!!

I USED to enjoy dealing with the people that worked at Safeway. They ended up losing an awesome manager due to health issues her replacement sucks. Very rude and she doesnt seem to mind rude employees. I refuse to shop at Walmart and our other grocery store doesnt carry everything I need each month so I have no choice but to deal with them. But watch out employees Im gonna start complaining until either you are nicer or get fired simple as that.

I also had a terrible experience at Safeway. The cashier was rude and not helpful. He kept complaining about how stressed out he was and how I needed to make his job easier....sure because that is MY job when I have a 2 year old and a baby with me! I was loading groceries on the belt with one hand because I had to hold my baby! I only go to the Safeway in Albany when I need to go. They are better stocked at the one in Albany too.

Went to get gas with my husband tonight and we were running on fumes. Apparently we pulled up to the pump a minute after they closed. There was a guy in the pump house. Just sitting there. We waited 10 minutes before my husband became so fed up, that he walked up to the window. The employee inside motioned that they were closed. At least have the decency to tell us that you are closed, jerk. They wont be getting our business again.
