PROS of this store: Clean, low prices, decent produce selection, self checkout, food to go, generally decent staff, bulk foods, and they sell rolls of quarters. CONS: Very overcrowded, dirty baskets, poor selection of red meat, produce that doesnt usually last long, poor selection of beer, to go food is full of monosodium glutamate (msg), hard to find many items, and the biggest thing I absolute LOATHE about this store... put your damn hand baskets by the entrance!!!! Whats WRONG with you people?! You make it impossible for a customer to walk in your store and quickly grab a hand held shopping basket. You have to literally walk against all the people exiting, meaning you have to walk OUT OF YOUR WAY to grab a basket then walk all the way back just to start shopping! That or you walk through the lane exits and look like an ass and bump into everyone! Ive NEVER seen a grocery store make it so difficult to shop with. Whoever is in control of the self checkout lanes needs to grab the hand baskets and PUT THEM BY THE ENTRANCE, NOT BY YOUR FEET, YOU LAZY, LAZY PEOPLE. Next time Im in, Im taking the baskets from your little boothe and walking them to the front door as I stare at you with a look of disgrace on my face. The fact that its been like this for at least the 2 years Ive been visiting this store is beyond me. What manager sat down with the GM and said it would be a great idea to hide the hand baskets from customers? That we should make them uncomfortable from the get go? What, so were forced to push around a big shopping cart and take up even more space that this store is already lacking? Just so have the possibility of "spending more" because you think the psychology is the larger cart we have the more we will load it up with and spend with you? You can straight up FIX most of the cons i mentioned by putting the hand baskets at the front. 1) less crowded floors due to more space to walk and shop, 2) shopping carts are cleaner because we dont have to use it for every tiny thing we buy, and 3) maybe if we had more time to pick the produce it wouldnt go bad so quick, huh? Hypothetically speaking? Honestly, just trying to help your customers. I know Im not the only one that feels that way.

I went to WinCo on Oak St in Hillsboro, Oregon on 8/11/2015. I had scoured the bulk food dept. looking for the hummus powder that Id normally found in the area of flour in the past. Its one of my favorite items to buy at this store and I use it often. I was feeling quite disappointed that I couldnt find it and I couldnt find anyone in that department to ask about it. A young man who wore an orange stockman uniform (Im guessing because he was moving things and I later saw him running a floor scrubber), came by and I hailed him and asked for help. He couldnt find it either and called on his two-way radio to ask someone and they suggested the place where I had always found it in the past. The young man grabbed this task as though it were his most important of the day. It turned out that the person that worked in that department was on his lunch break and was sitting out in his car eating lunch. The young man not only went out to ask about it but later found me again in the store and lead me all the way back to the back again to show me exactly where they had moved the hummus powder, now located in the bean section. I was highly impressed by this young man! He later passed me as I was checking out and wished me a happy day. What an outstanding worker! I would hire him in a minute! Unfortunately I didnt get his name but he was about 5 10" tall and had short brown hair with a shock of blond on top. I was there at the check-out at 17:38:43 by my receipt. My cashier was Mike S and he heard the young man wishing me a good evening.

The only real Con is; Recently whoever is in charge has started moving around products to new locations in the store. Making customers now have to search for what was normally easy to find. The last thing a customer wants is to have to spend extra time locating what they came to purchase. With the new self check out, and them thankfully including a limit (no more annoying full shopping carts using up the self check out) has made the store quite easy to shop in. Which seems counter productive for the massive amount of product location change. Everything else about the store is great. *edit* another Con. the bottle return, the machines need replacing. the staff that work on them are great, but the machines are in such a state of disrepair that they break down usually between 20 to 30 cans/bottles (even with fallowing direct instructions to remove caps and place neck first). Winco please replace these machines, and provide bonuses for workers who have to fix them.

It appears as this supermarket is THE only part to get less prices than any other store. WinCo serves as the supplemental part to shop when needed in 24/7. Nothing makes a flaw into it, although not many products are sold, but in general, every product needed is in WinCo. I mean Safeway and Fred Meyer does have everything (except Safeway)....but doesnt mean anything to prices, even though it has member cards, without it, that store sucks a lot with high prices! Id come here everytime when I need supplies to feed myself. That is my review, Brian Flores.

Outside, especially the parking lot is always extremely filthy. Inside of the store is often crowded, always at least one screaming kid to be heard throughout the store. The store itself is well maintained. Ive never observed any filth inside the store - clean corners, well maintained shelves etc. I generally dont opt to buy fresh produce or meats here, but many pantry stock items, frozen meats and vegetables, and dairy products are what I often come here for. Prices are always low if not the lowest.

26 people waiting for 2 checkers and they close one checker. 15 people re-stocking grocerys but only one checker for a line of 26 people. Looked like about a 30 minute wait in line so i left.I just parked my cart and left. I wont be back. This place is a total playground for kids. They play with the electric doors, they play on the shelves, I have even seem them INSIDE the reach in refrigerator. The run in the aisles. This place is a nightmare..

WinCo is simply the best place to buy food whether its fresh produce, bulk foods or packaged foods they will usually have the best prices around and the quality is good. Sometimes they dont carry a brand I like, but thats pretty rare. They also have the best tasting fresh ground peanut butter with the smoothest consistency and the best prices for filtered water refills. Love bring the whole family here to shop.

Have been shopping Winco as long as I have been alive. With that said, this store is a great place to find bargains. They do the work for you, they shop the other local stores and tell you what the prices/ savings are. Really helps me make a decision to keep coming back. Great bulk selection, beverages, and every day items. Their grab and Go foods are great, large sandwich and salad selection.
