First off, I love Costco for most stuff. However, my experience with their Vision Center was not at all positive. I bought a pair of expensive (several hundred dollars) prescription glasses and frames here in November, 2014. This part of the experience was fine. Two years and three months later, the non-reflective coating is peeling off the lenses due to a manufacturing defect. The optician acknowledged that the lenses and frames are still in good shape and hadnt been abused. However, they refused to stand behind their product to any degree. The optician flat said Sorry, I know they are defective, but the warranty is only one year. He then went on to say that they couldnt / wouldnt repair them, and that the only option was to schedule a new exam (because conveniently my prescription expired in November) and buy all-new lenses, and potentially new frames as well. Id understand if they were cheap Chinese mail-order stuff, but these were supposed to be their "premium" lenses with anti-reflective coating. For these lenses to last for barely two years of normal wear is ridiculous. I could have bought ten pairs from Zenni or another online retailer for the price I paid Costco. Poor quality, poor service, and a refusal to offer any sort of solution other than "fork over another several hundred bucks" earns Costco Vision Center a crap rating from me.

Ive used Costco Optical in Eugene for nearly 3 years but Ive become increasingly more dissatisfied and Ill use a different company from now on. In my opinion the quality of service received from personnel varies very widely from one person to the other, and poor technique in adjusting frames and poor attitude seem to have become not uncommon at this location.

Truely the best and least expensive place to buy your eyewear. HOWEVER when you call in and they are busy, they simply do not answer the phone. I contacted to photo dept which is right next door and he could see it was very busy but did take a message to deliver to them. Otherwise I wouldnt have known what was going on.
