We went in with a concern about our recently purchased bearded dragon. He had a broken toe. We offered his cage to a girl named Britney to look at him and she proceeds to yank him out of the small opening in his cage instead of just taking off the lid. While she was holding him she was very rough and showed little concern for his toe and more concerned about picking at the dead skin on his face, I assured her it would fall off naturally but she continued picking at my dragon saying it was okay because she owns one too. I dont care if Britney owns a dragon my dragon is new and easily scared we want him to feel comfortable but we feel as though Britney made the situation worse. She didnt address anything about his toe and was more concerned about telling us what we were doing wrong with a very know it all attitude, she then took him to another associate and let other customers touch him! Its ridiculous and unprofessional I am very disappointed in the kind of service I received from Britney, as she put him back in his cage, again through the tiny opening she hit his head on the side because hes to big to fit through there comfortably. I was shocked and disappointed to see someone with so little compassion for animals and horrid customer service skills works at a place that is usually very helpful. Im disappointed petco and I hope this issue gets resolved or else I will have to start calling before I go In. I gave the place 2 stars because the week before when we got our baby beardie Cameron was very helpful.

I would like to respond to the review left by Troy Underwood. First of all, I am going to assume you have absolutely no concept of "customer service", as tasks such as freight and managing a register are a pretty core aspect of any retail job. Since I have never see ANY of the animals in any distress, in dirty cages, without plenty of food and water, etc., I am pretty sure that the current employees must have a better sense of multitasking than you did. Secondly, if you really had such an issue with specific people, why on earth would you write that here? Complain to the store, to corporate, to anyone ACTUALLY INVOLVED in running the store. Blasting people on a Google review just comes off as petty. Personally, I am happy that you have moved on from your Petco career, I would rather have "the dog killer" (which, having interacted with James many times, I find more than a tad ridiculous) working with animals than you with your obvious anger issues. I hope your next job suits you better - may I recommend something in the waste management sector?

In May I took my little dog in to be groomed and when I picked him up he was naked! They had taken him down to pink skin...I was upset and told them it was too short!! Today I took the other dog in and was very specific about how I wanted her cut....going so far as to pull her luscious eyebrows out and when she asked how short I want them I loudly said dont touch them!! So go figure, I pick her up and she has no freaking eyebrows! WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FOLLOW SIMPLE DIRECTIONS? I will not return and I will spread this poor service all over social media! There is no excuse!!

This store seems to be a little smaller than some of the other Petco stores we visit and therefore their selection isnt always as great. That doesnt mean they dont have awesome deals and friendly staff though. We were looking for a collar for a new foster dog a few months ago and one of their staff suggested I checkout their discount bin. Thanks to her suggestion I found a beautiful red, 18 inch, rolled leather dog collar in their discount bin that was 50% off! Our new foster "Star", certainly looks like one in her new collar.

I have purchased fish from the Albany Petco after doing much research and having my water tested. The water is perfect and I followed all of their care instructions and all of the fish have died within 2 to 4 days from bringing them home. I would never recommend buying fish from this store, I have purchased 9 fish in the last month and a half and they have all died. The quality is terrible. Dont waste your money!

Max, Daniel, and James have provided me with exemplary customer service on several occasions. I had an issue with my aquarium and some fish died. They tested my water, offered sound advice - no guilt trips. They offered money saving tips on aquarium maintenance and I purchased a really cool LED volcano! Everyone at the Albany petco has been very cool to me.

Just took my dog to get groomed. Shes not acting right. Shes usually so bubbly and happy but when I picked her up she dragged me to the car got in and laid down in the back seat. She seems upset and Im not sure what had caused it. Last time I had her groomed at a different location she loved it. She was very happy afterwards. Makes me a bit nervous.

The store always seems clean. Not the largest selection of items. The employees are hit and miss this is the reason I knock off a couple Stars. Some of the employees walk around and act as if they dont want to be there. And others simply ignore you and if you need help you have to go track them down. And some items are quite overpriced.

I just love this full facility store. My dog LOVES it, because he gets to go inside. You can get your dog groomed here and sometimes they have adoption days and you can get a new pet to help make your house a home. They also have clinics where you can get your animals vaccinated.

I buy my dog and cat food here since its the only place that carries close to what I used to buy in Wisconsin from the Amish. Staff is very friendly and I love looking at the adoptable pets! Get a pals card it helps save on a lot of things

Light, bright and friendly environment. There is a huge selection of items that even looking for dog treats can feel overwhelming. Stores that make you wind around through "teaser" aisles to pay for your merchandise is a little annoying.

Helpful. They have knowledgeable people, but you do need to go in during the day to talk to them. They care about their animals and are more interested in them having a good home, rather than the sales! Great store!

Management is not friendly staff is very uninformed, the groomers are alright. Theyre the only reason Id be back. Most of staff doesnt know much about anything they just seem to bluff there way through stuff

Large selection of good natural foods, and they even price match to other stores and their online price. Flea and rock prevention is usually on sale online so I can get about 40% off, sometimes more

Super friendly staff. They all know our dogs by name and really make it a fun trip for the pups. Very knowledgeable and very helpful even with the use of their online ordering process.

It is fine, but needs a little more selection on limited ingredient foods, foods dont have chicken in it. My dog is allergic to chicken, beef and lamb, all popular additives.
