8/29/16 UPDATE: I gave the store another chance, and was disappointed to find not just expired product but BAD product in the store. The Whitmans sampler had white blooming on the chocolate pieces. Chocolate blooming is caused by poor storage conditions. There was Ball Park brand beef jerky that was whitish and dried out completely. The Thorn Apple Valley bacon was turning colors. Unfortunately this visit was consistent with previous visits June 2016: EXPIRED PRODUCT. I must agree with the other reviewer Hannah, there are many products past their sell by/expiration date. Contrary to the response given by the store, they DO NOT include the sticker advising customers of this information on most of the expired products or product tags. Also the expired product is not only found in a value section. It can be found throughout the store in the meat area, back of store, frozen section, behind checkout, and down multiple aisles. Aside from the expired product, I have found dates changed on $0.99/lb chicken breast packages, mold in Dutch Farm cheese packages displayed, and grayish green bacon in the store. Even if for argument sake food past the expiration will not hurt you, it brings up questions as to the integrity and quality of the food offered. By selling this expired food it would contradict the precise intent of the manufacturer who has placed the date on the product to ensure freshness and a quality standard. You discard these standards, and the standards of the store, when you do not follow the selling guidelines of these dates. The other three locations of this grocery chain go by the name Value Center Marketplace, BUT they call this location VC FRESH MARKETPLACE. If FRESH is the name and FRESH is a focus for the store, expired products do not support this emphasis.

I live a few miles from this store. Its got so many great qualities. Large selection of products you cant find at places like Kroger and Meijer. Unfortunate though, that half time I try buying anything fresh from them, it is either molded or rotten within a day or two. Last night I snagged some lunch meat and a pack of Sub buns. Woke up this morning to make my lunch for work, and 3 out of the 4 buns in the package had mold on it. Ive bought bags of potatoes that had several rotten potatoes already as well. I remember the wife telling me she bought some fruit and when she got home to peel and package it into fruit cups for snacks, some of it was already spoiled as well I love coming here for a lot of things. The alcohol selection rivals even that of many specialized liquor stores. The deli and the meat section both have good products. Its also one of the few places I can go to buy Pig Neck bones for making Ramen noodle broth. However I have to stop buying Fruits, veggies and bread from here. The customer service is great too, lines are never busy, theres always a bagger waiting at your line unlike most other grocery chains nowadays where I just bag my own stuff to speed it up. And the carts are the best youll ever see... if they can sort out the fact that Ive gotten so many moldy/rotten products from the fresh food section it would be a 5 star. Oh, and bring back your ground pork Chorizo... I havent seen it the last 3 times Ive came to the store... that was half the reason I go to this place, Ive compared your Chorizo recipe to places like Meijer and Kroger and they dont even compare.

Stopped in today. Was greeted with a warm smile by Tom. Store is always so clean, well organized and has a friendly staff. I dont live in the area, but when I am near by, I make it a point to stop in and get some of their fresh produce and meats. The wide aisles, clean, bright store and well-stocked shelves make me wish they were where I shopped every day! What a treat for Waterford residents! Read some reviews about expired food - I frequent Meijer and Kroger and find that there! It happens. Just tell the cashier or other store employee...or simply do not buy that item. Thank you VCs for another pleasant visit today!

Awesome grocery store! Gorgeous presentation, fresh and lovely produce, high-end, quality selection and second to none service. Like VGs on steroids. If a product were close to end of shelf life do your part and get in here and buy buy buy - spread the word and support - so we arent left with a scuzzy, dirty lame alternatives. As the manager said, tell him. Thus store definitely deserves to be supported. Its my new go-to option. Plus, Thai Legend is in the same shopping center. Great!

This place is awesome! Ive been here a few times now and its great. Its always clean, the entire staff is so polite and helpful, the shelves are always stocked and sale items easy to find. Their prices are un-believable. All 3 of my kids work and some times its a struggle for them, I can get food for my house and 2 sons, plus get food for my daughters house and still spend half of what I would anywhere else.

Just left the store, not a great experience. Had to ask 3 people about gluten free products. Wanted to sign up for the rewards, told me to do it on the kosik but there were no directions and nothing I did made it turn on so you could enter the information. No one offered to help. Wont be high one my list of go to stores even though it is nice and close.

The place is very clean and the prices are good but mostly everything in that store is expired or close to it, the meat you hAve to eat or freeze that day or its bad and the eggs and milk are usually good for about two days. The store isnt busy enough to keep things regluating. I dont see this store lasting long.

This place isnt a Value Center, its a rip you off center! Not only are their prices much more expensive than their Competitors, but they sell expired products on top of that! Dont go to this Grocery Store!!!! My experience at this store today was awful & I will NEVER be going back!

Very unhappy with this store. The meat is some of the worst ive ever bought. On top of tht they sell large amounts of out of date products. To add to it the vc pit stop refuses to take back return ables. In which they charge depoist on. They are nothing but sscandlis crooks
