My general opinion of the overall facility there is that it is a nice place, friendly people, and I never have to wait long. I particularly look forward to the coffee and cookies that are available in the waiting room. however my biggest concern is that I was sold a very overly optimistic outcome for quite a bit of extra money. Originally went in for basic cataract surgery. Instead I was sold a very expensive procedure and a very expensive set of lenses with the belief that I would no longer need glasses when the whole process was finished. 2 years after the procedure was finished my vision is certainly better than it was before this the cataract surgery. And under the right conditions I can see reasonably clearly at distances and I am able to read ( under optimum circumstances i.e. bright lights and high contrast text) with not too much difficulty. However I am certainly not in a situation where I can do completely without glasses. An added frustration is that the final PRK procedure on my eyes left me with a slight residual astigmatism in the left eye. Outside in bright light this is not noticeable. My far vision is wonderful in the daylight and I can even read fairly well although the text is still slightly blurry. Inside, in normal lighting, the astigmatism causes a slight ghost in my left eye. That renders it almost useless for reading inside. The bottom line is that no I cant completely go without glasses. I have to have reading glasses any place Id expect to be reading. My vision is certainly better than it was before I had the cataract surgery and it is more stable. Before the operation I would get a new prescription on glasses and it would be obsolete within 2 to 3 months. Now then, since the cataract surgery, my vision has stayed relatively constant. My point is that if I had been told properly what to expect out of this procedure I would probably have gone with standard cataract surgery and then get a pair of glasses that I wear all the time for distance and reading and be done with it. It actually looks like thats going to be the outcome anyway but I just had such high hopes of being able to completely get rid of the glasses. I would certainly suggest that anyone considering anything other than a standard cataract surgery be very clear on what the expected outcome of the procedure is. It probably would also be a good idea to get a second opinion.

At the risk of being placed in the very same "another idiot who had no idea where he went, but reviewed us anyway" I was treated with the same disdane that most other reviewers were. Cookies, bottled water do not make up for the rush here, go back to waiting room, rush there, go back to waiting room, rush over there, go back to waiting room, rush somewhere else, go back to waiting room, rush back over there, go back to waiting room, get sent to a different office and go through the very same routine all over again, THEN get the packaged spiel of "youNEEDimmediatecataractsurgeryatOURsurgicalcenternextdoorwehavescheduledyouforinsertdate}andbesuretoarriveanhourearlythankyou verymuchpleas payatthe deskbeforeyouleaveand wewillnotifyyouofyourappointmentinamonthandpleasepayatthedesk" without even taking a single breath. Oh NO! Wait, that MUST be somewhere else but WE ask you to review our practice even though you have never been there. When things go like this, I must wonder exactly WTF is happening and how exactly why are they asking me to review an office that I have never set foot in. STRANGE? You BET! I have NO idea how they even got my name, but being the dutiful "patron" that I am NOT, I write a review, knowing I will be told that I too, am thinking of "That OTHER place. Dont you even know where you went". CAVEAT EMPTOR!

I was very pleased with how quickly I got my glasses back. Since I was using my old frames, I had to turn them in to send them off for the new lenses. I went from Monday to Friday with my old broken glasses. So getting them early was great. However, when I picked up my new glasses I was surprised that the bi-focal part was so small and did not cover the bottom portion of the lenses. When I commented about it, the receptionist said, "O thats the executive lenses." Like I should have known that. It was never explained to me that I had the option of getting the executive lenses. Maybe if they would have taken more time to explain things and not rushed through the order, I would have made a different choice. David

because I had taken Flomax I had a bad experience with my right eye as is known by the doctors. I feel that the procedure should have been different to compensate for the known problems with Flomax and Tamsolosin.

The doctors, faculty and staff are all great, but I seem to always be waiting. Called back 25 minutes after my appointment time and arrive 10 minute early. While they are advertising same day/next day appointments?
