My experience at camax was horrible.... I bought a 2013 camaro rs bumblebee look alike. I took this car in to get a wheel alignment. On the first vist, tech completed the work and lost two of my rear tires lug nuts. Me and a service associate asked him where is the lugs at . Tech said this is how the car came in, we argued for 3 mins . I knew that was a complete lie, horrible customer service. Long story short , the tech found the lug nuts in the bay where he was working on the car. Tech didnt evan say sorry or a knowledge me at all. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. So while i was driving home i notice the wheel was still vibrating once i get on the freeway. The next moring i take my car to chevrolet to get a PROFESSIONAL to really inspect the car and see whats going on . And they indicated that carmax didnt do the wheel alignment correctly. And told me that i need to return and have them fix the issue. I returned to camax to tell them the wheel alignment needed adjustments. Dave one of the service associates told me that it is something else. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, didnt evan look at the car. He was going off a visit a month ago, when i needed a lower control arm, that i fixed on my own. I then gave Dave the diagnostics of what chevrolet gave me and i also gave Dave Carmax current diagnostic . And he amitted that the tech didnt make the proper adjustments. So i had to make an appointment for the following day which was 5/10/2017. At 10am. Through this whole situation i was the only one who really cared about fixing the car. I was also the one who figured out the problem, and i am not a certificated mechanic, the alignment needed to be adjusted and one tire balanced because i notice it was missing a weight. The mechanic who worked on my car was either intoxicated, a new hire, or a inexperienced mechanic, or didnt care about the customer or his job. There is more to the story that i do not want to write . But it is so bad that i am consulting my laywer.... WILL NEVER BUY or GET SERVICE FROM CARMAX AGAIN. I evan talk to the service manager Dan about this and he dont care at all. And i told the store sales manager he dont care at all. I evan talk to Judy from corporate she tells the basic customer service response. Which is we do value your opinion and experience at our store and we do care about every customer. But She really wasnt helpful, because the managers and some associate in the store is rude and ignorant, and really dont care about there customers. If they did manager Dan would have talk to me in a care and understanding way like service associate Benjamin who was great by the way. On the sales side , not bad, service SMH.... but my car is driving straight now with no vibration. Took three visits though, and would have been more if i wasnt savy with cars. This issue may never been fixed. I cannot continue to do business with carmax anymore because i dont feel comfortable leaving bumblebee in there hands, i will for ever be a Tillys chevrolet customer. My next vehicle will be the zl1 from Tills chevrolet

Bought a 2013 Kia Sportage. Great experience buying the car but two weeks later the problems started. The back up camera stopped working. Then my fiance noticed that the rear passenger side wheel was cocked out. I called them and they scheduled an appointment to look at it. Their hours are very inconvenient and I had to schedule during work. Because it was in with in the first 30 days I had to take it to Carmax. Even though I had the extended warranty with Carmax and they told me that with that I could bring it anywhere. After I had scheduled with them, the brakes started making noise. I called them back and told them I was concerned about safety. They said their was nothing to worry about, but I could take it somewhere else if I was really concerned. I took it to a Kia Dealership and I am glad I did. The mechanic there said that there was no way the car should have been sold in that condition. He said the front and rear brakes were worn to point where they were damaging the rotors. He said it needed a complete re-alignment and that the shock on the rear passenger side was completely shot. The worst part was the reason the rear wheel was cocked. The suspension had been taken apart and put back together wrong. The bolt that adjusted the angle of the wheel was put on upside down. This was causing the wheel to be cocked out and had caused the one wheel to be worn on one side. I checked the Carmax paper work and none of this was mentioned and the 120 point inspection Carmax does said that it looked for these problems. Carmax quality assurance is meaningless. If you buy a car from here get it inspected with in the first 5 days.

All in all, I was very pleased with most of my experience in buying a car at CarMax. I would have given them five stars, but the delivery experience was very disappointing. So lets go with the "pros and cons": PROS: I love my car! It was exactly what I was looking for, was in excellent condition, and had all the features I was looking for. I was paying cash, so the transaction was fairly easy and my salesperson, Steve, was great!! CONS: The time from when I paid to when I received my car could have been better. It was at least 45 minutes, from when I paid, to when my car was "delivered" to me after getting final "prep". That would have been fine if it had gotten more than a yellow ribbon added for taking a photo of you and your new car!! Im totally at a loss as to what they did during "prep" as I discovered when I got home that my Satellite radio had not been activated, and the I had no windshield washer fluid....none. Not that big a deal driving to the nearest gas station to get washer fluid and a little more of a pain to speak with Sirius/XM (on hold for twenty minutes) and find that nothing was pending for my Sat /radio ID??? I had an extra receiver in another car and transferred that subscription to my new car. In all: two hours wasted fixing what had not been done in "prep". It also made me doubt what indeed had been done to service my car prior to delivery?? Final thought: I love my car and really appreciated my salesperson. The rest of the process was poor at best.
