Ill begin with the pros; easy buying process & seemingly friendly staff. I bought my first car here a year ago after test driving it a couple times. It drove smoothly & looked good all around. Now for the cons... Less than a week after the purchase, it completely stopped in the middle of the road, and since then its been nothing but problems. I eventually took it to a Volkswagen dealership to have it fully inspected and I found out that the transmission & parts of the engine had been swapped with used parts (keep in mind this was a fairly newer car, a 2010 with around 56,000 miles) & sloppily installed, the radiator was being held up by cable ties, the drivetrain was constructed from junkyard components, wiring was damaged/loose, etc. Currently, I find myself with no car, as the transmission went bad last week. I understand I should have had the car inspected before buying, and thats on me. On the other hand, I would have never expected a dealership would knowingly sell a car with so many things gone wrong. I am inclined to believe that the sloppy work was done within the walls of this establishment, but that may not be the case. Regardless, even if the bad work was done somewhere else & had nothing to do with this establishment, this dealership claims that "ALL OF OUR VEHICLES ARE INSPECTED, SERVICED, AND RECONDITIONED. THOSE VEHICLES THAT DO NOT MEET OUR MECHANICAL CRITERIA ARE NOT OFFERED FOR SALE" and clearly, that was not the case. All I can hope for now is that people see this review before buying a car from here & finding themselves in as bad of a situation as mine. Please save some time & money by shopping elsewhere, you will not regret it.

I wish Id listened to some of the negative reviews Ive seen of this place before I decided to purchase. I just figured some people are complainers, and that those reviews must just be flukes. Well now I know they werent. Lets start with the major problem - they swindled me into buying a car that had problems they had concealed. I first saw the car online, and decided to go check it out. I took it for a test drive, and everything went fine. No problems. I liked the car, but I started having second thoughts about the price. Thats another problem with St Marys - their cars are priced well above blue book for no apparent reason. The car had less than 100k miles though, so eventually I changed my mind and decided to buy it. I came back and negotiated a lower price, and bought the car cash (stupid I know). The very second I drove off the lot, the car started shaking and had a hard time getting up to speed despite pressing the accelerator all the way down. Im not kidding. Engine light was coming on, car was shaking when it was idle. It was night and day - it was so cartoonishly ridiculous I didnt even know what to say. It was like two different cars. I dont know if they replaced parts in the car after I test drove it, with crappy parts, or if they just got lucky and the car somehow didnt act up when I first drove it. Long story short, I took the car to a mechanic immediately and am in it another 2k. Stay *far* away from these guys.

Made a deal on a car shook on it and he wanted a deposit. Told him no deposit. Bank called him 12 hours later to tell him he would be paid please fax PO. HE SOLD IT TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!! NO phone call no nothing. When a man shakes on a deal he should honor it. is 48 hours worth your reputation. Anyone who can not keep his word should not be trusted
