A real gem of a bike shop in Cleveland, excellent advice from the employees as always. Its not just geared toward hardcore hipster bikers. They have plenty of used stuff for the thrifty. Only down side is when going to the repair area you may have to wait.. but enjoy your stay & window shop while you are there as they have a excellent selection of goods. Prices are reasonable if you choose to have them fix or they will give you installation tips if you choose to do it yourself. I would not trade it for the walmart type experience for the world. They have items for sale as low as $0.25 freaking love that! MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR KIDS SO THEY CAN HAVE A TASTE OF HOW A REAL LOCAL SHOP SHOULD BE RUN!! I really hope this place never closes not many stores left like it. (sorry about your experience Cliff **see below post** but i have a bike from a major retailer that did the exact same thing to my son -less the broken arm. Given most of all bicycle products are probably Chinese so i blame ourselves for wanting to pay a reasonable price for a kids bike.) Im sure if you personally built the bike from high quality components you would see that happen. We have a Hoffman bike that we aquired and built up as a spare/backup that is without a doubt 10 fold better quality than the bike my boys currently ride. -dont blame them they dont make the bikes.

Im new to biking and to this long-standing local shop. The few times Ive been here Ive received good service and pricing. I got a rack put on over the back tire, then another time had the front tire/tube replaced. Pricing was very reasonable and each job was done relatively quickly. Understandably, in the summer months it can get busy and theres a wait for walk-in jobs. Everyone at the place seems knowledgeable and friendly with the right recommendations, particularly for novice city riders like me. It never seems like theyre trying to sell you things just to turn a buck. Im glad I live a block away from Fridrichs and will continue to patronize their store as my biking hobby expands. Edit: I want to cite an example of the service here - AFTER I wrote this review, I went over there and told them that I needed pads replaced on the brakes. At a lot of places they wouldnt question it, just say okay, do it and charge you. Instead, the mechanic came out and said, "Your brake pads are fine actually. They just needed adjusted. I saved you $16" --- THAT is customer service!

I had a problem with my bike tire: the tire had a hole in it, and the tube was poking out. I showed up at 4:45, 15 minutes before they close Saturday afternoon. I was visiting from Michigan and staying in a hotel room, and had ridden my bike to the store. I explained the problem and bought two matching tires. I asked if they could install one to replace the broken one. I was told no, they closed in 15 minutes. I ended up having to replace the tire on the sidewalk in front of their store! :( And for the record, even using my emergency multi-tool and my frame-mounted hand-pump, I had the tire fully installed by 10 after 5. I guess that extra 10 minutes was just too much for them... On the positive side, this bike shop seemed to have a great deal of parts, and a large number of bikes on the floor. Not that I got a chance to look around: I had to fix my tire! :) But its a rough-looking store: lots of things scattered around, and a very old-looking store.

I went to Fridrichs for two bikes for my daughters and i was really impressed! Not only did they have a TON of bikes at GREAT prices but the customer service experience was second to none! My daughters chose two bikes without training wheels. The shop installed them for free and one set even required modification to fit! My daughters are soooooo happy with their first bikes and they are still talking about "the old bike shop downtown." I am so glad i decided i go to Fridrichs instead of buying a bike at WalMart or some other huge bike store chain (they only sell TREK...hint,hint). They have a great selection of styles and prices. knowledgeable, courteous, and HELPFUL staff. This place really goes the extra yard for their customers. SUPPORT LOCAL WHEN THEY SUPPORT THE CONSUMER!

I bought a brand new bike at Fredrichs Bike and 3 weeks later I returned with the bike asking to trade up to a better bike. I explained that I didnt enjoy the ride on this bike. I had only rode the bike 3 times so the bike wasnt even dirty or had no scratches. I was looking at purchasing another bike over $400.00, so my purchase would have been sufficient for the shop to make a profit. I was shocked that I was only offered $40.00 for my 3 week old bike. This is a nice bike and the salesman really built up the quality of the bike. I couldnt quite understand why the trade in was so low. I think I will continue to look elsewhere with my $400.00 cash.

I recently had to take my bike into the shop after an incident that occurred while I wasnt looking. The derailer was bent and twisted as well as the frame. They were very upfront that it wasnt a guaranteed fix. They were all very knowledgeable and friendly, and went out of their way to help me get back on the road. After I picked the bike up, there were a couple things not working properly. They had me bring the bike back in and very promptly corrected and tweaked the problem areas. I am so grateful and appreciative for everything. Very good place with very good people!

We have known Fridichs Bike shop for many years and have purchased bikes there. Today I called to ask a question about and adult trike and steering it. Roger spoke to me and gave me advice and guidance over the phone - which meant a lot to me: I didnt have to figure out a way to pack this mammoth trike into my car and take it to the store to hear what I was told by Roger. Fridichs is a great store, with friendly and very responsive service; if you have not been using their services, buying their products, you are missing out on a great place!

One of my favorite places in Cleveland! The staff and mechanics are all very friendly and helpful. They may not have the largest selection of mid range-high end bikes but they are very family oriented. Their service is also reasonably priced and they are willing to make sure you are completely satisfied with your service.

Excellent place to get a bike if you dont want to be pushed or spend $1000. This place gives you a free bike tune up about a month after you buy the bike. I also wanted a different kind of shifters on my bike and they changed them for $25 that day. I have no complaints about this place at all and I shopped around A LOT!
